This manual contains instructions on the use of the Cruise Android app, as downloaded and installed from Android Market.These are the two apps that must be downloaded and installed:

Cruise Diagnostic.

Cruise Toolbox.

To use this app you need an Android smartphone with software update 1.6 or later.

Note: Only one program can be used at a time.

Use Cruise Diagnostic using method 1 or method 2.Use Cruise Toolbox using method 2.

Cruise Diagnostic:If only checking the installation, use method 1.This function is limited to only being able to deal with testing the installation. E-Cruise cannot be used at the same time.

If the installation is to be tested in realtime, but you are driving the vehicle, use method 2. E-Cruise can be used at the same time.

Method 1 – Installation check:1) Turn on the vehicle ignition.2) Insert the E-Cruise Bluetooth module.3) Start the Cruise Diagnostic program.

Method 2 – Realtime:1) Insert the E-Cruise Bluetooth module.2) Turn on the vehicle ignition.3) Start the Cruise Diagnostic program.

Cruise Toolbox:The Cruise Toolbox program is used to create speed limitation, display the product number, software version, change between automatic and manual transmission and change the vehicle-specific lps file. The program can only be used while E-Cruise is off.

Method 2 – Realtime:1) Insert the E-Cruise Bluetooth module.2) Turn on the vehicle ignition.3) Start the Cruise Toolbox program.

First the E-Cruise Bluetooth module must be paired with your phone.

Before pairing your Android phone with the E-Cruise Bluetooth module, the E-Cruise Bluetooth module must already be plugged into the box.

The E-Cruise Bluetooth module is used by both programs.

See your phone instructions when attempting to connect new Bluetooth units. The unit to be located and used is called “CRUISE II”

Cruise Diagnostic is a program which, via a connected Bluetooth module, can read off the inputs and outputs of the cruise control which is in use and save “lock this function” in a file so that you can later see which circuit is activated. The program always starts in the “Inputs” window.You can see all input functions by scrolling down the window.

To select “Outputs”, press “Outputs”. All outputs appear in the same window.

Note: Not all inputs and outputs will be activated, as it is possible E-Cruise happens not to use the input or output in question.

Start the vehicle.Start Cruise Diagnostic and press the “Menu” button on the phone.Select “Connect” and select the unit “CRUISE II”. The program displays the message “Bluetooth connected”.

Cruise Diagnostic – Function description

Vehicle speed: Displays the speed E-Cruise expects the vehicle to be driven at. May deviate by about 10%, as the speed is calculated.

Vehicle RPM: Displays the RPM E-Cruise expects the vehicle to run at. May deviate by about 5%, as the RPM's are calculated.

Brake: Displays brake function. Red turns to green when the brake is activated

Brake 12v: The “hot” side of the brake function. Must be red. If it is green there is a fault in the way it is fitted. (Brake, 12 volt is only active on analogue installations - Product number starts with 153xxxx)

Clutch: Displays clutch function. Red turns to green when the clutch is activated.

Lever input:Displays the function of the operating stalk which is fitted to the 8-pin plug on the cruise control.

On / Resume: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Set / Decl: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Off: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Cancel: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Cruise Diagnostic – Function description

CanBus circuit:

CanBus connected: Shows green if the CAN bus is connected and validated.

CanBus baud rate: Shows the speed on the CAN bus.

RF remote inputs:

Memory 1: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Memory 2: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Memory 3: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Limiter: Red turns to green for as long as the button is activated.

Auxiliary inputs:

Cancel 1+2: These are special cancel functions which can only be programmed to work if E-Cruise is fitted to the CAN bus.

Cancel 1: Red turns to green when the input is activated.

Cancel 2: Red turns to green when the input is activated.

RPM cancel: Used if RPM's on the CAN bus are used instead of a clutch switch.

The outputs window:

Accelerator circuit:

Circuits 1, 2 & 3: Shows the voltage of the vehicle's accelerator.Circuit 1 is the current voltage measured on the vehicle's accelerator, whereas circuits 2 & 3 are a calculated value which theE-Cruise software calculates on circuits 2 & 3.The vehicle must be running, for the values to be viewed correct.

Circuit PWM: If a PWM circuit is used, the accelerator's position is shown in milliseconds.

Extra outputs:

ON/OFF LED: Shows green when E-Cruise is on.

Cruise LED: Shows green when E-Cruise is activated.

Acc. pedal switch: Shows green when the pedal sensor is activated.

For other functions, press the “Menu” button.

Miscellaneous buttons:

Connect: Connects the phone with the Bluetooth module.Disconnect: Disables the connection between the phone and the Bluetooth module.About: Displays the app version and product number*, Unit ID* and Software Rev*.

*Only displayed if a connection has been established between the phone and the Bluetooth module.

Operating stalk:With this virtual operating switch you can operate E-Cruise while driving the vehicle.

Settings:

Language:The program uses the same language as your phone.If you want to change language, press the bar under “Language” and select your preferred language.

When “ ” is in use, the functions are saved in a file.The three options under “Log file settings” (“Send log file”, “View log file” and “Clear log file”) allow you to send the log file to a third person, see all data saved in the log file or delete all data in the log file.

Settings:

Lock data functions:If you want to look for a periodic fault, you can activate “Latch functions” by checking “Enable latch function”.Once an input is activated, it will remember the input andfreeze the function. Press the “Back” button and select the “Inputs” window. The input that was activated will be displayed green.

NB. To select “Enable latch function” again, press “Reset latch function” and the system will again be ready to remember and freeze the function.

If you want to send the log file, e.g. in an e-mail, press “E-Mail”. The phone MUST have an e-mail account installed on it for this function to work.

The Toolbox program is used to set speed limitation, display the partnumber, software version, change between automatic and manual transmission and change the vehicle-specific lps file.The program can be used while cruise control is off.

Turn on the vehicle ignition.Start Cruise Toolbox and press the “Menu” button on the phone.Select “Connect” and select the unit “CRUISE II”. The program displays the message “Bluetooth connected”.

If the connection is OK, the LED on the side of the Bluetooth module will show green.

Press “Get data”. “Hardware Info” is read from the unit.

Setting a speed limitation:

Select “Enable/Disable speedlimiter”, so that the field is checked. Enter the desired speed in the “Speedlimit value” field. The figure must be the desired speed + approximately 10%. Example:The desired speed is 100 km/h x 1.1. This gives a value of 110 which must be entered in the “Speed limiter value” field.The value may deviate and must be tested for the best result.

Select “Send data”. The program displays the message “Data sent ok”.

Switch off the ignition and start the vehicle to test the speed limitation.

Transmission type:

Press the “ ” button. A new window opens where the gear box type can be changed from “Manual” to “Automatic” and back again. Select the desired gear box type.Only if action is written on the frontpage of the installation instructionwith red color.

Select “Send data”. The program displays the message “Data sent ok”.

Save .lps files via browser for Android phone.

You can download and save all vehicle-specific .lps files on your phone. You can download a single .lps file or all .lps files saved as a zip file.

Open a browser on your phone and enter the following address:www.lpastech.dk/el-pas.com/E-Cruise

A log-on window opens.Log on with your user name and password provided by LP A/S.

Select “Click here for Manuals and LPS files” and then select“lps files. For new E-Cruise II unit”.

Either select an .lps file or scroll all the way down the page and select the .zip file “All lps files for E-Cruise II in this zip file.zip”.

The file is downloaded, unzipped and saved automatically on your phone.Once you have received the file on your phone, you are ready to program E-Cruise if this is needed. (See page 14).

Cruise Toolbox - Download and save .lps files

Save .lps files sent by e-mail from another computer.

You can download and save all vehicle-specific .lps files via a computer and send the file to your e-mail account on the phone.You can download a single .lps file or all .lps files saved as a zip file.

Open a browser and enter the following address:www.lpastech.dk/el-pas.com/E-Cruise

A log-on window opens.Log on with your user name and password provided by LP A/S.

Select “Click here for Manuals and LPS files” and then select“lps files. For new E-Cruise II unit”.

Right-click on the file and select “Save destination as...”. Save the file to a location where you will be able to find it again.Attach the file in your e-mail program and send it to your own phone.

Once you have received the file on your phone, you are ready to program E-Cruise if this is needed. (See page 14).

Cruise Toolbox – Programming E-Cruise

You can replace the vehicle-specific .lps file with another one, if a newer .lps file is available, for instance.The files must be downloaded and saved as described above.

Turn on the vehicle ignition.Start Cruise Toolbox and press the “Menu” button on the phone. Select “Connect” and select the unit “CRUISE II”. The program displays the message “Bluetooth connected”.

If the connection is OK, the LED on the side of the Bluetooth module will show green.

Press “Get data”. “Hardware Info” is read from the unit.

Press the “Menu” button on the phone and select “Program Cruise”. Select the .lps file to be used.

E-Cruise is programmed automatically with the new .lps file and displays the new “product number” under the field “Hardware info”.
