Fulbright Programs
The Fulbright FLTA Program provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while teaching Portuguese at colleges and universities in the United States.
FLTA - Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program
• 9-month program – 30 scholarships for 2011• Be teachers of English. Preference to candidates with MA
degree in the area. Preference for Public School teachers.• Have fluency in English is mandatory, demonstrated by a score
of no less than 79-80 (internet based TOEFL - IBT)• Demonstrate maturity, dependability, integrity and
professionalism. • Reside in Brazil throughout the
nomination and selection process.• FLTA’s are required to return to their
home countries upon completion of the 9-month program.
