He head about the history of the Andrea Gail, so he decided to write a book telling this story. To do this, he counted with the help of the local people, mainly who knew the fishermen.

In 2000, the film based in Sebastian Junger book was made. Then, the author and other people decided to create a foundation called The Perfect Storm Foundation – to help not just the population, the children too.

His main book is The Perfect Storm, a real best seller, published in 1997 in the USA.

The author was born on January, 1962, in Belmont – Massachusetts. He had already leaved in Gloucester – the main cenary of The Perfect Storm story - and he really could see everything being destroyed by the storm in 1991.

Gloucester is a little town near the Massachusetts coast.In 1991, there were living Bobby, a fisherman, and his girlfriend that was called Chris.

Bobby decided to work at the Andrea Gail ship in order to solve their money problems.

There was a small hotel called Crown’s Nest, and many fishermen used to go there to have a drink or something. Ethel was the main owner, and her son, Murph, decided to go on the Andrea Gail october’s trip.

When everybody was ‘Preparing to Leave’,

Billy, the captain of the strong swordfishing boat, said that he needed one more men to complete the ship crew, so he called Adam.

Adam didn’t accept to go on the trip because of the bad feeling about it, so Billy called Sully who agreed to go.

The chapter also discribes sworfishing in general, related to the USA government and telling histories about the Mary T. in 1980’s too.

October 1991The Storm arrives. Gloucester coast was consederated very dangerous and the most part of the crew had had a bad feeling and was afraid to go on it. Sully and Murphy went to buy condiments to the whole trip like ice and food, because it would last a few mounths.

... Ethel was afraid about her son going on the trip since the beggining.

When finnaly the Andrea Gail and the other boat called Hannah Boden went to the sea, they were separeted two days after and the Andrea Gail started to go to the north coast, wich was a dangerous place to seal at all.

A cold air mass was moving fast to Andrea Gail’s locate.

Although Billy was a good captain, he didn’t said anything about the ship being in risk to his partner members. Billy was the only one who checked everything before the storm hits and he checked the weather faxes saying that Hurricane Grace was moving in and would

He was trying to contact with Canadian Weather Service but the last time was about october 28th.In 29th morning, the hurricane arrived to the coast to and it was a huge problem. The fishermen couldn’t get off of the boat.

The perfect storm destroyed a lot of boats and the Andrea Gail had disappeared.

Any news about it. Nobody knows exacly what happened whit the famous swordfishing boat and it’s whole history. Many Gloucester families lost men on the Andrea Gail and Chris had dreamt that Bobby was dead the night before. When she went to Crown’s Nest, everybody was just drinkink. A lot of money had been lost.

The Coast Guardsmen were still looking for notices from the Andrea Gail but anything was found.

No one had heard about the Andrea Gail after that.
