animals found in the

Andaman and Nicobar

islands. Since then the park

has been a centre for

biodiversity and conservation

where one can catch a

glimpse of the rich fauna of

the islands.

Situated 25kms east of Port Blair, Wandoor beach is famous amongst tourists and locals alike. The picturesque scenery of the beach makes it ideal for swimming and coral sighting. With clean blue water contrasting beautifully against the dried trees, this beach is also equipped with neatly constructed benches and changing rooms for your convenience. The trees, uprooted during the 2006 Tsunami, make for scenic pictures.

The museum has been thoughtfully divided into five different rooms, each of them showcasing a different facet of the Andaman Islands. A massive blue whale, in its skeletal form of course, greets you as you enter the museum. Did you know that Andaman apparently has been named after Lord Hanuman or Handuman as they refer to him here? From its name to how it came to be formed, the first room deals with the geographical history of the islands.

Located nearer to Phoenix jetty of Port Blair, this beach is also very famous for under water corals. Snorkeling and scuba diving is available. All sort osfacilities are available for the people like food, clothes for rent, lockers, huts for taking rest etc... The one day package trip includes North Bay, Viper Island and Ross Island. Some travelers prefer to stay more time in North Bay to enjoy the sea corals through snorkeling and scuba diving. Normal trip package goes with Viper island first, North bay next and Ross island last. Unlike Jolly buoy and Red skin beaches, the crowd in North Bay coral beach is more. People come here in large number because of the facilities available to enjoy the beach play.

Red Skin Island and Jolly Buoy Island lie next to each other and boast of rich under water marine life.

Usually, tourists go to Jolly Buoy in the peak season but as rainy season approaches, the weather makes the commute difficult as Jolly Buoy falls in open sea area and then the tourists are taken to Red Skin Island.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands Anthropological Museum, which is located at the Phoenix Bay, displays facts about the local tribes of the region. The museum was established in the year 1975. It is one of its kind museum that displays facts about the four Negroid tribes of the Andaman Islands and two Mongloidtribes of the Nicobar Islands.

Andaman Water Sports Complex is a well known sports complex in India. The unique sports complex offers many adventurous water sports activities. It is located close to the Cellular Jail and Aberdeen Bazar in the north-west Port Blair.

Joggers Park is one of the highest points in Port Blair. It provides a panoramic view of the Port Blair in the landscape mode, which gives an excellent perspective of the area. Witness the city of Port Blair basking in the Sunset while enjoying the cool, breezy winds, of course. A must see for visitors in the evening.

The cellular jail, so known due to its isolated cells, was spread across seven wings, of which only three wings remain today. The well-painted building with its green gardens is quite a contrast to what one might imagine a site of many unspoken tortures would look like.
