Would you know what to do if you see an Educator or Parent having a panic attack, feeling depressed, or appearing suicidal?
In any year, more than one in five Australians over the age of 16 have a common, diagnosable mental illness, such as anxiety or depression.
Our roles require us to be manager, coach, mentor, mediator, and accidental counsellor. We are often the first responder in dealing with staff or parents suffering a mental health crisis.
This workshop gives leaders and managers the first-aid skills to assist families or staff experiencing mental health problems.
In this workshop you’ll learn:
• Skills in how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems
• Knowledge of the possible causes or risk factors for these mental health problems
• Awareness of the evidenced-based medical, psychological and alternative treatments available
• Skills in how to give appropriate initial help and support to someone experiencing a mental health problem
• Skills in how to take appropriate action if a crisis situation arises involving suicidal behaviour, panic attack, stress reaction to trauma, overdose or threatening psychotic behaviour.
This practical and sensible workshop allows you to provide support for others whilst setting and maintaining healthy boundaries.
The workshop includes a 30-minute, one-on-one follow-up phone call with the presenter.

Working in small teams and a fast-paced environment can place strain on relationships and cause personalities to clash. This stress can create misunderstandings, build resentment and cause conflict.
This workshop explores each Educator’s unique working style and how you can use them to strengthen relationships and bring out the best in each other.
We’ll teach your team:
• The essentials that make an effective team and how to implement them
• Which styles clash and how conflict can be avoided so the children remain the priority not the friction
• Practical tools to increase communication and support each other despite the differences
• Skills that allow them to respect, appreciate and approach different communication styles.
After the workshop, Educators will have a genuine respect and acceptance of opposing personality styles. Moving forward as your team begins to implement their new-found skills you’ll see reduced conflict, improved collaboration and more team harmony.

In our busy, fast-paced environment it’s easy to forget to take the time to demonstrate gratitude to each other.
An amazing and effective team is one that appreciates strength and values differences. Character strengths are the ingredients for living our best life. High-performing teams focus on strengths and build on what’s right, rather than focusing on what’s frustrating them.
In this light-hearted workshop, we’ll explore which strengths work well together, which strengths clash, and how to spot strengths in others. This team workshop is designed to promote trust and grow an open, engaged and positive team.
We’ll teach your team:
• Discover your individual 24 character strengths
• Learn how to harness your strengths for growth and development
• Spot the dangers of overusing and underusing strengths
• Rebuild relationships after strengths clash
• Spot strengths in others to help bring out the best in each other.
After the workshop you’ll find your team focuses on each other’s strengths and celebrates successes. You’ll see them working more collaboratively, solving problems more creatively and focusing on the bigger picture.

Managing difficult behaviours is a challenge for both parents and staff. Parents are constantly looking for practical strategies and useful suggestions on managing difficult behaviours.
At Farran Street, we’re constantly asked by parents for practical strategies and useful suggestions on managing difficult behaviours. We understand that sometimes services don’t have the time to facilitate this. So, we’ve developed this wonderful parent information evening to provide up-to-date, current, and expert advice to families to support parenting.
Our hugely successful parent presentation, “Controlling the Chaos – Managing Difficult Behaviours” will focus on common challenging behaviours in young children (e.g., sleeping, eating, tantrums) and strategies which are useful in modifying these behaviours.
Participants will gain understanding in:
• Dealing with tantrums and aggressive behaviour
• Developmental stages
• Making reward charts and using time out
• Sleeping issues and night terrors
• Eating concerns
• ADD or ADHD in early childhood
