This is a photograph portraying a rectangular poster advertisement for a magazine called ‘Resident’, located in London. This magazine is a luxury London Lifestyle magazine, in which focuses on london culture, events, properties for sale and the arts. It is a high end magazine for people who have interests in education, lifestyle and style.

This billboard is presented high up on a kind of industrial looking building, perhaps inside of a train station. It is a long rectangular poster in which is suspended from the ground. It has been shown in a busy place, attracting the eyes of many possible consumers.

The colour of the billboard poster stands out and attracts the eye of the audience as it is a shocking shade of orange. The white writing contrasts with this, going with the colour scheme well. I feel that it is a classy and attractive advertisement in which would please the eye.

The bright yellow/orange colour relates to the colour of money and riches, which is suggesting that people having a lot of money. The picture is stereotyping, as it refers to the population of women as it looks rather feminine from a glance.The primary audience would focus on older women, in particular women because on the magazine there is featured a woman in a fancy dress, a high fashion shot. Particularly of the middle and upper classes who have perhaps have a high status in society. This text on the billboard is large, so that it is easy to read from afar, and also it needs to be big in order to attract passers by. The slogan ‘your magazine your london’ makes the magazine seem relatable to the audience, as if the magazine would help you with the London lifestyle that you lead already. It seems that it would give you more enjoyment out of your life if you read this publication.

The magazine is being represented on this billboard advert, but on different formats such as an ipad and iphone, also a paper copy. This shows that the magazine is available to download on many different devices, keeping up with the modern times. It shows that this is also a method of luxury as you can get the magazine straight to your tablet and not have to go out and buy it, it is available to read in the comfort of your own home.

The people are being represented with a touch of luxury, as these types of people would be able to afford the type of technology being presented in the advert such as apple products. The stereotype of being rich, glamorous and posh if you live in London comes into this, as this magazine shows the high end class that is associated with the city of London.
