IMIX – Technology Review

• Generic term for weighted frame sizes of a packet mix.

• Deterministic IMIX- Repeatable pattern with known relative counts or %’s of each frame size.

• Frame size and its % of total determines bandwidth utilization.

• “IMIX” (Internet mix) is not officially defined. No specific mix of packet sizes represents Internet usage.

Enter the L2 “Frame Size” that you want and SmartFlow will automatically calculate the PDU “IP Total Length(tot)” for you. The frame size calculation is based on a standard 18 byte Ethernet L2 header.
