Supply chain management is the combination goes into improving the way your company finds the raw components it needs to make a product or service and deliver it to customers. Various results of carried out and studies in progress are given and identified through the classification into management aspect. An attempt is made in this paper to analyze the supply chain management of fruits and vegetables in Mysore District. Key Words: Supply chain, Management, Business, Processing etc. Introduction In the current competitive scenario supply chain management assumes a significant importance and calls for serious research attention, as companies are challenged with finding ways to meet ever-rising customer expectations at a manageable cost. To do so, businesses must search out which parts of their supply-chain process are not competitive, understand which customer needs are not being met, establish improvement goals, and rapidly implement necessary improvements. Previously manufacturers were the drivers of the supply chain - managing the pace at which products were manufactured and distributed. Today, customers are calling the shots, and manufacturers are scrambling to meet customer demands for options/styles/ features, quick order fulfillment, and fast delivery. The term supply chain management was coined by consultant Keith Oliver, of strategy consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton in 1982. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the operations of the supply chain with the purpose to satisfy customer requirements as efficiently as possible. A supply chain refers to different players being to achieve more effective, efficient, customer focused and market oriented flow of products. The supply chain may include growers, packers, processors, storage and transport facilitators/providers, marketers, exporters, importers, distributors, wholesaler and retailers. Abstract

Supply chain Management has assumed a significant role in firm's performance and has attracted serious

Objectives

1) To Analyze the Procurement Management in Different types of Fruits and vegetables Processing

Units.

2) To ascertain the value Addition in Different Fruits and vegetables.

3) To Analyze the Problems faced by the Selected Processing Units in Management of Fruits and

vegetables.

Limitations of the Study

The study pertains to the owners of the private processing units few ascertaining accuracy of data. Hence,

greater care was taken to collect the data as accurately as possible, similar capacity firms or the

processing industry in the entire Mysore district.

Methodology

This chapter deals with the methodology followed in the present study, which includes the selection of the

units and their description, sources of data and analytical techniques adopted. The study is based on the

primary data. The primary data has been collected from the study area by a custom-designed

questionnaire and also by personal observation and discussion with the respondents. The Secondary data

will be collected journals, magazines, and Websites and Text books.

Findings of the study

1. The quantity and cost of Fruits and vegetables procurement indicated that co-operative unit procured

his highest quantity followed by private large scale and private small scale units. In case of cost involved

in procurement of Fruits and vegetables the transportation and handling cost accounted for maximum for

all the units.

2. The seasonal fluctuation in Fruits and vegetables procurement revealed that, the procurement of Fruits

and vegetables season was highest in co-operative unit, followed by private large scale and private small

scale units.

Suggestions

It is found that major competitors Fruits and vegetables units. So Fruits and Vegetables Company

must take some steps to occupy the competitors market to increase the sales.

Lack of awareness regarding the Fruits and vegetables so marketing department should increase

advertisement regarding the services they provide.

Appoint more delivery boys for door delivery of Fruits and vegetables. It has two benefits to HRM it

make easy availabity of product and delivery boys have direct interacted with customers. It is easy to

understand the consumer's needs.

They should plan for expanding the scope for procurement and marketing.
