Analysis of Ellie Goulding as an electro pop artist

Flood lights are used in various colours which link to club/party life, a common feature amongst electro pop music videos. We can easily achieve this by putting coloured cellophane over our studio lights, along with a black background and turning all the main lights off. This will give the allusion that our artist is at a club which would be difficult to obtain other wise as the members in our group do not have ID for clubbing yet.

Above is a few shots from our previous shoots where we covered the lights with red cellophane and used a black background along with turning all the lights off. This is what we achieved.

We purchased some sparklers (interesting on camera) and bubbles (used at parties) after school as a group as we wanted to add to this climax that we had been asked to create. We also thought about costume and colours.

We really wanted to find a costume similar to Goulding’s blue sequined dress. Luckily, I had a red one which was almost the same that fitted our artist. The stills below from ‘Goodness gracious’ show her in the dress and the sparkles reflect the light nicely which would be visually appealing for audiences.
