Analysis of Amy Wichelows Blog

Analysis of Amy Wichelows BlogJanakan LOGANATHANRESEARCHIn Amy Wichelows research category, she started off with a code and convention presentation to explain what a music video would need. She started to talk about the camera shots/ the movements then moved on to Mise-En-Scene, then moved to Sound and finished with Editing. Throughout her presentation, she fully explains the use of each of the cinematic technique by mentioning few examples from her chosen music video. The beneficial part of the presentation is the use of images to give the audiences interesting and she has not used a wide range of text but kept it simple and clear. However, the down side is that Amy has not used much media terminology in order to educate the readers. Overall, her Music Video Codes and Conventions presentation is simple and understandable with the use of a different media to present her work but can be improved by using much more sophisticated words to get the presentation to sound interesting and not boring.

RESEARCHFurthermore, Amy has used a complete different media which is called Prezi. She has used Prezi to show 3 music videos that have been analysed. She chose Best Song Ever by One Direction, Firework by Katy Perry and Youve Got The love by Florence + The Machine. The reason why she chose those videos is because they are all under the pop genre and it helps her to choose appropriate angles and shots when it comes to shooting as it fits the codes and convention of an existing music video. Her Prezi presentation is colourful and very detailed which grabs the readers attention. She has also embedded the existing music videos of all 3 of the artists which makes it easier to listen to music without going on any particular website as it is already there on the Prezi presentation. The negative part of the presentation about the existing music videos is that Amy did not give her own view of all 3 of the music videos.

PRODUCTION LOGIn Amys Production Log category, she has written what she has been doing in her Media lesson. She has included variety of medias, which includes: Survey Monkey, Voki, Videos, Images and Prezi. A variety of medias gives the readers an interest in finding out more about the music video Amy is about to do in the near future. Amy started her production log by telling us that she began to bring together her ideas for the music video deciding which dance moves she might be needing when it comes to shooting. She has also listening to a variety of songs that were uploaded onto YouTube and came with a final decision where Amy chose to work with youve Got The Love by Florence and the Machine. Later in her Media lessons, she began to write a script and put all her unique ideas to the length of the song. In Addition, she also watched different music videos which included dances and got influenced by watching Breathe Show by Alesha Dixon.

RAW FOOTAGEIn her Raw Footage category, she has embedded a video shoot she has done with her model. For this, she has used a worldwide media called YouTube. The raw footage is about a recent filming of her model called Mollie who performed in her garden where she mimed certain lyrics of the song in different locations. Amy also filmed sparkler scenes which have been included in the scene. Even though, the lip syncing is not perfect, she tried to present a decent footage to give a rough idea of how it will look like in the final.
