Transcript of An Overview Of Vehicle Suspension System
The suspension system is designed to deliver a smooth ride to the passengers in all road conditions.
There are many developments are being made to optimize the suspension system and make it more efficient and durable for
extensive use.
The system makes sure to keep the wheels remain on ground and properly
function like slowdown, stop or accelerate whenever needed.
:- Tires :- Wheels
:- Shock absorbers :- springs
:- Control arms (upper &lower) :- sway bars
:- Torsion bars :- Axle system :- Driveshaft
:- Wheel alignment etc
The current suspension types are divided into different categories :- :- Dependent
:- Independent :- Semi-dependent.
The independent system allows the vehicle's wheel to move up & down in an uneven road vertically.
Independent Suspension System :-
In this system, there is a linkage between the two wheels of same axle and the energy that affects one wheel also affects the
other one.
Dependent system
This system is a combination of both dependent and independent suspension system.
Semi-dependent system
When vehicle starts, the engine power transfers to wheels and from wheel to ground to make the vehicle move.
The arms then help the suspension to move up and down while keeping the wheels perpendicular to the road all the time.
:- Excess tire wear :- Poor steering control
:- Excess bounce on humps and bumps :- Loss of control on sudden stops
:- Vehicle sagging etc
Make sure to check the vehicle's suspension system before it breaks down to the point where it needs an expensive repair.
