€25,000 Proactive ‘Marketing’ of FP7 Ireland locally and internationally

Branding Website Raising awareness of Ireland’s excellence in S&T at President and

Ambassador-hosted meetings in Brussels

Financial Support ‘Results’ – early days

Travel Support – 188 applications approved in 8 months [compare to 261 for FP6 2002-2006]

Coordination Support – 43 applications approved [33 for FP6 2003-2006]

Feasibility Study for Companies – 15 applications approved

- Evidence of a high level of FP7 proposal preparation activity on the ground- We will have given out more financial support in 1 year of FP7 than in the whole of FP6

Some Take Home Messages

There is evidence of a high level of FP7 proposal preparation activity on the ground

There is more support available nationally than ever before – in terms of knowledge and finance

Extremely positive First Call results are emerging – suggesting no lag period at programme start (as seen in FP5 and FP6)
