The WITBN was established in 2008, and is the first global alliance which aims to unifies Indigenous networks around the world to retain and grow the Indigenous languages and cultures around the globe.

The organization aims to promote the Indigenous languages and cultures through media networking, program sharing, news and broadcasting from around the world.

WITBN’s mission is to develop collaborative relationships among Indigenous television broadcasters to create various media opportunities for it’s members and help nurture Indigenous media worldwide.
