Miguel began playing the guitar at the age of 12,

and his teachers have included professional

players Rafael Cortés, Salva del Real and Geraldo

Nuñez. His international group Indialucia has

released two award-winning albums, Indialucia

and Acatao.

ANANDITA BASU

A recognized name in Sahaja, Sufi and qawwali

music from Kolkata, India. She has received the

Sangeet Prabhakar and Sangeet Visharad

degrees in Music and Tabla. She has worked

with different international institutions and

organizations with the purpose of promoting

Indian music and culture all over the world.

Currently, she is a professor of Indian music and

dance at Javeriana University in Bogotá,

Colombia, and founder and director of foundation,

Kalakendra of India, to promote Indian culture in

Colombia.

Anandita received her inner self-realization in

1989 with her guru Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. She

has toured the world since 2007 to bring self-

realization to mankind through her music, called

Sahaja Sufi Music, the music o f realized souls.

Tabla Player

Sri Sandesh Popatkar holds a distinguished rank

amongst the leading Tabla players in India. His

first Guru is his father Late Pt. Shankar Rao

Popatkar.

He is an ‘A’ Grade Tabla Player in All India Radio,

Nagpur. He has been best owed upon with many

national and international awards. Since last 20

years he is performing in many H. H. Shri Mataji

Nirmala Devi’s Sahaja Yoga Programmes. He was

appreciated by the foreign audiences when he

had the privilege to tour abroad to USA, Europe,

Russia and other places.

Composer & Producer

GIRIDHAR UDUPA Percussionist

Ghatam Giridhar Udupa is one of the leading musicians

in the world of rhythm. Udupa, a commerce graduate, has

treaded the path of music with a heart of an artist and

the will of an innovator. Though he primarily performs

on the Ghatam, the Indian clay pot, he is equally adept

with other South Indian percussion instruments

including Mridangam, Khanjira and Morsing.

“There are, of course, lots of t echnicalities involved in

the performance of music at a professional level. But

music is much beyond that, and through Sahaja Yoga I

have found the ability for music to penetrate through my

being and that of the listener.”

Fascinated by the Baansuri from early childhood,

Shakthidhar trained under Pt. K.S. Naik for 8 years. Other

teachers include eminent violinist Pt. Prabhakar Dhakde,

sitarist Sri Avaneendra Sheolikar and is currently

studying under Pt. Rajendra Prasanna.

KINGA MALECDancer and Choreographer

“The public, in different countries, notice something special

and unique in my dancing. My art and talent is completely

inspired by Sahaja Yoga, and perhaps what make s it so is

spontaneity a nd c onnection t o t he d ivine p ower.”

Kinga is a dancer and choreographer from Poland who

specializes in Kathak. She received her training under

some of the best teachers in India: Pt. Arjun Mishra, Pt.

Birju Maharaj, Mamta Maharaj and Saswati Sen and

Nirupama and Rajendra.

AVANEENDRASitar Player

Born in a family with history of four generations of

Sitarists, Avaneendra has classical music in his blood.

He has a Master’s Degree in music from Khairagarh

University ranking 1st in1993.

The special feature of his performances is the

exposition of subtle nuances of ragas based on the

gayaki styles and layakari, and use of intricate taans.

He has many national and international awards,

felicitations and achievements to his credit. The album

‘Indialucia’ was distinguished with first prize in

Wirtualne Gesle‘s best album of 2005.
