An interview with Commander Karwan

Interviewee: Karwan, Head of Dahaq Lashkar “Battalion of Right Path”, affiliated with Haqqani Network

Location: Birmal area in Paktika Province of Afghanistan

Ishtiaq Mahsud: Commander Karwan belongs to North Waziristan Agency, Pakistan. He is fighting

alongside with Afghan Taliban and Haqqanis against the US and NATO forces in Paktika province of

Afghanistan. Commander Karwan is leading a group with the name of ‘’Da Haq Lashkar’’ means

‘’Battalion of right path’’.

Commander Karawan: Allah has sent us to this world only to worship Him and serve his religion. He has

sent us to perform Jihad. Jihad is a sacred tree that provides a relieving shadow to our religion. We will

perform Jihad and protect our Madrassas, our Quran and our Muslim brothers and sisters. With the

grace of Allah, if all Mujahideen are martyred, the last Mujahid standing would fight till his last breath.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: Tell me about your fight against the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan?

Commander Karawan: It has been 16 years now that America invaded Afghanistan and we took a stand

against the tyranny of the U.S oer the orders by Amir Mullah Muhammad Umar. We will continue this

Jihad till the end. After Mullah Umar, we were led by Mullah Muhammad Mansour in our Jihad. As for

now, we fight under the leadership of Mullah Haibatullah Akhunzada and will continue our fight till our

last breath. We have trained ourselves and our companions in such a way that even if all of us are

martyred and only one of us remains, that single Mujahid will continue fighting infidels until his last

breath.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: What do you think about the peace talks between Afghan Taliban and Afghan

government, and the Americans?

Commander Karawan: We don’t desire any rule or kingship. The Americans are trying to constitute

different groups and parties to attract people and convince them to join them. We will never side with

America and will never join the Americans. We only want to implement Shariah law in the whole world.

We don’t desire to rule, neither are we attracted towards worldly desires and things. We don’t befriend

infidels and their friends or supporters.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: What do you think about presence of the US and NATO forces for last 16 years in

Afghanistan?

Commander Karawan: The infidels think that they have subdued Islam but we, the Mujahideen, are

certain that we have triumphed over the infidels because right now, 90% of Afghanistan’s territory is

under the control of Mujahideen while the remaining 10% is under the control of infidels which we will

soon deprive them of with the grace of Allah.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: Tell me about your activities against the US and Afghan forces inside Afghanistan?

Commander Karawan: By the grace of Allah, since last 16 years, we’re busy in Jihad with them. Every

month, we recapture a district.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: Which areas are under your control? Who is more effective in the area, Afghan forces

or Taliban?

Commander Karawan: The movement of the infidels is limited to their redoubts and trenches. The

infidels may fool the world through sending false claims on media, but we know the reality and the

reality is that our Mujahideen do not even let them patrol openly on roads, fields and other open routes.

Ishtiaq Mahsud: What is your opinion about the current crisis going on between Pakistan and India?

Commander Karawan: We think that there are thousands of Madrassas and other religious institutions

in Pakistan and Islam is flourishing over there. If India poses a threat to those Madrassas and our

religion, our commanders would penetrate India and attack the Indians from within. Whoever dares to

oppose Islam, whether its India, America or some other country or kingdom, we will fight them till our

last breath, just like our Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) did with infidels of Mecca and made them

embrace Islam.

Commander Karwan’s message to Mujahideen.

I appeal all the Mujahideen that whoever is against Islam, Quran, Madrassas, and whoever tries to harm

our dignity and our women, we must shoot such infidels in the heads with our Klashenkovs. We,

Mujahideen and our Ameer-ul-Momineen (leader), believe that very soon Shariah law will be

implemented in Afghanistan once again, like it was in the past.
