HomeProviders are homeowners 55+ who would like to share their home.
HomeSeekers are people looking for a new housing solution.
Successful participants are flexible, helpful, patient, and live well with others.
All homes must be located in Larimer County and participants seeking accommodations must live, work, or attend school in Larimer County.
THE BENEFITSCompanionshipHomesharing matches can share a range of companionship from friendliness to long conversations. Homesharing often results in long-term friendships.
Well-being and IndependenceHomeowners who are in good health, but need help with minor chores benefit by remaining independent.
Cost EffectivenessMonthly expenses can be reduced for both parties.
ABOUT HOMESHAREHomeShare is a simple concept in which two or more people benefit from sharing a home together. This program helps participants find a housemate who will positively impact their lives.
The Neighbor to Neighbor screening process focuses on safety and security, alongside finding the most compatible match possible.
HomeShare is more than a roommate finder. We understand that each arrangement is unique and based upon the needs, interests and lifestyles of the individuals involved. It provides a rewarding housing option to people of all ages.
THE PROCESSAll HomeProviders and HomeSeekers are interviewed by a Neighbor to Neighbor Housing Counselor and undergo a background check. Applicants are given referrals to potential matches based on compatibility of preferences. The decision to enter a living agreement is always made by the participants.
When two applicants agree to become homesharers, the Neighbor to Neighbor Housing Counselor helps them work out the terms of their living agreement and offers ongoing support.
