An inker is the artist who outlines the penciler’s illustrations and gives them shading; remember line weight? It’s
very important for the inker. While many people think the inker’s job is simply tracing, this artist is actually responsible for a lot more. It is often
the responsibility of the inker to establish the tone of the comic, and it
can be quite difficult to provide shading that will act as the bridge between the
pencils and the colors.
Tactile texture (real texture) is the way the surface of an object actually feels. Examples of this include sandpaper, cotton balls, tree bark, etc.
Implied texture is the way the surface of an object looks like it feels. The texture may look rough, fizzy, gritty, but cannot actually be felt. This type of texture is used by artists when drawing or painting.
Roger Dean is an English artist known for his exotic fantasy landscapes, which have been used for album covers for the band “Yes” and may have inspired the
setting in “Avatar”.
