We will continue to generate our wealth of achievements

into high-quality machinery based on global standards.

Allow me to present my New Year's greeting at the advent of 2012.My heartfelt thanks for your patronage of A products for these many years. I hope to continue to serve you this year as well. Now, looking back over the past year, the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake, an unprecedented disaster, took place, claiming many victims, and inflicting enormous damage on the Japanese economy as well. In addition, major disasters were seen not only in Japan, but in many parts of the world, with earthquakes happening in New Zealand and Turkey, and flooding in Thailand. I express my heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the disaster. On the other hand, looking at the situation in Japan today, the effects of the earthquake have not yet been concluded. Moreover we face many challenges such as the strong Yen, slowdown of overseas economies, and the Trans-Pacific Economic Partnership. Although there is a feeling of anxiety over the Japanese economy going forward, I expect continued economic growth in newly-industrialized countries

such as China and Thailand, and for Japanese manufacturing to recover with overseas demand providing the impetus. In such a situation, A will provide the highest level of service and maintenance while at the same time providing solutions based on our wealth of know-how, as well as provide a high-quality product lineup, so as to further assist our customers. And so, I ask your support and encouragement in the future so that we may keep providing "Income-generating Machines", and continually strive in our ongoing business efforts. It is my dearest wish that this year you may see all your hopes fulfilled.

Favorite Saying: Fine Words and Great Technology are no Match for Simple Sincerity

Two and a half years have passed since the opening of our European business

office. Through our marketing activities with various clients in Europe, we have sensed a spirit of learning from the past to create new ideas. The current situation is one of old machines are currently operating alongside cutting edge automation machines and workers (masters). In addition, we were strongly impressed by the very high productivity demand. As for awareness of the total production efficiency (energy efficiency, factory space efficiency, material costs, etc.) , there are several points in need of further future study by the customers, and we think there is still room for further understanding of the TAKAMAZ machine concept in Europe. We will take a proactive approach to various customers, and so I ask your help going forward.

Favorite Saying: Everything will be all right.

Hello everyone. I am Kayo from the TMU Chicago Office. It will be almost a year since I started working in this office.

I never imagined working in a place only ten minutes away from my house. TMU is an ideal workplace for me since I was looking for a job near my house where I can use both my English and Japanese skills. As an attempt of becoming a trilingual, I started learning Spanish few months ago. It will take some time until I completely master this language, but I will keep working at it.My new year’s resolution is to "Live everyday as if it were your last." I want to cherish every day and give my best at everything I attempt.Everyone please have a great year.

We are planning further PR activities in response to the situation in Europe.

MECT 2011 (Mechatronics Technology Japan 2011) was held for four days last year from September 29 to October 2 at Port Messe Nagoya (Nagoya International Exhibition Hall), and we made an appearance there. We displayed a total of six machines, including the new XY-120PLUS and XB-1000, and our booth was visited by about 700 people over four days.

We he ld var ious bus iness discussions, and we were able to reach init ial target sales prices, as for the trade show will prove fruitful in the future. Many people visited us, and for this we are truly thankful.

Appearance at MECT 2011 (Mechatronics Technology Japan 2011)

On October 15 of last year, we held a family factory tour in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of TAKAMAZ. It was celebrated in a two-part structure divided into an AM part and PM part, and a total of 353 people from 134 families took part. That day, in addition to a current status report in the great hall, and tours of the offices and factory, we performed attractions such as booths for refreshments such as yakisoba, a Dalmatian petting zoo, etc. By showing off our workplace to the families, we had a good opportunity to deepen mutual understanding regarding our work.

▏Stable cutting capability of hard to cut materials.—How long have you used TAKAMAZ?10 years ago, Mr. Weis, the president of WECO recommended us TAKAMAZ products. We purchased the single turret XY-120. To be honest, we did not expect much from this machine in the beginning (Laughs). But, once we started using the machine, it is very stable, accurate, and is still being used until this day. I am very satisfied. We mostly use a material called "Inconel" which is a difficult material to process. It heavily burdens a machine so that its accuracy tends to fluctuate. But this TAKAMAZ machine displays excellent stability and productivity. It was a correct move to purchase this machine.

▏Secure substantial support—How many TAKAMAZ machines are there in your facility? We have a total of 10 machines: eight XY-1000, one XY-2000Plus, and one XY-120. We are planning to purchase more in the future. I am very interested in the new XY-120Plus.The support after we started using the machine has been there through WECO, I am very satisfied.

▏Machine that can provide substantial benefits to customers.—What do you like about TAKAMAZ?The quality of the machine, of course, but our company policies are quite similar. Since the founding in 1989, our company business philosophy has been to "satisfy the customer". Providing high quality products in response to customer requests is a must. Without offering the additional "plus alpha" factor, we have not truly satisfied the customer.I believe TAKAMAZ company policy of "Provide profit generating Machines" is similar with our policy of providing "One Rank Higher Service". Especially, the XY-1000 can produce finished products from raw materials with a short processing time. We can create products in accordance to our company policy.

▏Machine that is capable of supporting a small group.—What are you expecting from TAKAMAZ in the future? As in Japan, aging and decrease of birthrate is a similar issue in Germany. With the reduction of the workforce, it has become harder to find talented individuals. In order to stably produce high quality products with a small group, "aggregated production process" and the "ease of using the machines" will be essential. I am hoping TAKAMAZ will develop such machine in the future. Also, please consider constructing a system and network to receive immediate service parts when the machine is down.

Thank you for letting us feel Germany's "industrial strength." This will be great reference to Japan where processing distribution is the mainstream. We will continue to strive to find more ways to satisfy and help ZETEC.Overseas Sales Department, European Branch, Masaru Umeda

Debut of New Machine Incorporating Hob Cutting in Lathe Turning

Inside Kanazawa station, there is an oden restaurant with a history from 1953. The oden on the menu board is braised in a bonito stock carried forward since the inception of business and is based on dried kelp, dried sardines, and thin slices of dried bonito, which meets the tongue crisply, but has a rich flavor. As for items, normally 20~30 types are prepared, and in addition to the Kurumafu (a large, donut-shaped pastry unique to Kanazawa), there is a large seasonal menu. In addition to a wealth of single-plate dishes, there is a truly wide variety of Kanazawa regional cuisine, such as duck meat stew, famous products from the mountains, firm tofu sashimi, and Char (a type of trout-like fish) cuisine, and one is able to sample the famous tastes of Ishikawa. There is also a lineup of famous Japanese sakes. Almost all the labels of the Manzairaku, a Hakusan-city native company, are there, as well as many varieties of shochu (Japanese distilled liquor). Leaving aside the sake, there are also courses and set menus for dining. There are counters and tables, and is a truly enjoyable place for individuals or groups.
