Brighton & Hove celebrates Rugby!Costume Carnival Expect to see the unexpected when exciting flashmobs take place to celebrate Rugby World Cup 2015 as part of the Costume Carnival. Starting on the evening of Friday September 18, then running all day on Saturday, visitors to the city will be entertained by flashes of inspired “costumed” entertainment popping up across the main pathways to the RWC 2015 Fanzone. If you miss the daytime displays, be sure to head down to the seafront Fanzone for the finale, the Costume Carnival will parade on Madeira Drive at 6.30pm on Saturday September 19.
FanzoneThe official Rugby World Cup 2015 Fanzone will be on Brighton beach, Madeira Drive, east of the Brighton Pier.
With a capacity of 10,000 the Fanzone offers the chance to enjoy refreshments and soak up the Tournament atmosphere. The Fanzone features activities from Rugby World Cup 2015 sponsors and a big screen showing all the matches played during the first weekend of the Tournament.
The Fanzone is free to enter and the opening times are:
• Friday September 18, 4pm to 11pm• Saturday September 19, 11am to 11pm• Sunday September 20, 11am to 8pm

Pitch Perfect Music & dance festivalhttp://brighton-hove.gov.uk/pitchperfectSaturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, midday to 6pm Free
Visit New Road in Brighton to watch a two day festival of music and dance taking place on the street in the heart of the city’s theatre district. Pitch Perfect (music & dance festival) will see local bands, musicians, dancers and performers take to an outdoor stage to bring a mix of live entertainment to audiences and passers-by. The show has a dance focus on Saturday and a music theme on Sunday. Vibrant dance troop Maracatu Cruzeiro do Sul, four piece Brazilian band Caiçara and the 600 strong choir of the Brighton & Hove Youth Big Band are among the acts making an appearance on the Pitch Perfect stage.

“Dress up and play” at the world’s first Costume Games! The Old Steine Pleasure Gardens will be turned into the “Costume Gardens”. People will be able to get into character, be creative and have fun. The creators of some of the most enduring and iconic characters in film history are taking part. Oscar winning Lindy Hemming, Graham Churchyard and the team behind Christopher Nolan’s Batman films will join local costume charity Gladrags to help visitors create costumes, turning the whole city of Brighton & Hove into a veritable stage.
