USİNG UTENSİLS.
Dining is done with forks, spoons and knives in western
style.

The fork is held with the left hand and the knife is held with the right.
The fork is held generally with the tines down, using the knife to cut food or help guide food on to
the fork.

Under no circumstances should the fork be held like
a shovel with all fingers wrapped around the base. the fork balances on the
side of the index finger, held in place with the
thumb and index finger.

When no knife is being used, the fork can be held with the tines up and may
be held with right hand.

USİNG SPOON
When eating soup , the spoon is held in the right
hand. The soup spoon should
never be put into the mouth, and soup should
be sipped from the side of the spoon, not the end.

USİNG KNİFE
The knife should never enter the mouth or be licked
Knives should be used to butter bread rolls but not to cut bread - tear off the bread
a mouthful at a time with your hands.
Keep elbows close to your body when cutting and eating.

WHİLE EATİNG
To have good manners in Turkey, do not begin to eat
or drink until the oldest man or the host at the
table has been served and has begun

You should have small pieces of food in your mouth to chew easier.

you shouldn't speak while you are eating.
You must keep your mouth closed while you are chewing.

Sit up straight.do not place elbows on the

Talking with food in the mouth is seen as very rude.
Licking one's fingers is also considered impolite.
It is impolite to reach over someone to pick up food or
other items. You shouldn’t add salt and
pepper before you test the food

Don't pick your teeth at the table
Try to finish everything on your plate. Some Turkish
hosts might be offended if you don't.

Napkins should be placed unfolded on the table when you leave the table for a moment or when the meal is finished .

Waiters/waitresses may be summoned by making eye
contact. Waving or calling their
names is considered impolite.

While eating with other people ,pouring your own drink is acceptable but it
is more polite to offer pouring drinks to the
people on other side of you.

All wine, red, white and sparkling, is held by the
stem of the glass.

When you have finished eating, place your knife and fork together (fork on the left), with the tines on the fork
facing upwards, on your plate.

At the end of the meal, it is appropriate to thank the
host or hostess for the meal.

AFTER THE MEAL
It is customary to say "Afiyet olsun" (Good
appitite) before eating, And say "Elinize saglik" (it is a compliment to the hostess, meaning "Bless
your hand") after the meal.

It is also customary to start eating with a pray and finish eating with a pray.Sometimes silenty
and individually ,sometimes loudly and alltogether.

the host /hostess if you are invited to their
houses.

DRESSİNG
Dressing also shows your respect to the others.
People always try to wear smart clothes when they go out for a dinner for a special occasion or for a special day.But the atmosphere of the place is very important what to wear.
Men usually prefer wearing suits and women usually prefers wearing dresses or smart costumes when they go out for a dinner.
