Presentation Outline

• Agricultural product traceability

• Relief supply management for disastrous situation– We developed this as a “mode” of Agricultural traceability system

Motivation

• Mobile and stationary sensors posts data to different platforms– Mobile sensor posts data to EPCIS repository through capture

interface

– Stationary sensor posts data to another data base and combined to products with SGLN

• By combining these separately collected data into a single system, we can achieve better visibility of products

• Combination of such a visibility system and E-commerce system will be very attractive

Relief supply management in devastated area

• Discrepancy between needed supplies and given supplies– Immediately after the disaster: Food, water, blankets

– Several months after: Appliances and products to sustain living

• Large amount of supplies had to be discarded

Relief supply management

• Category based transactions– Blanket 100– Water bottle 500– SGTIN specified transactions are rare

• Dynamic aggregation topology– Prefecture level– City level– Town level– Community level

Selection of Product category code

11

• Long Term International Deployment– GPC (Global Product Classification) and GDSN.

• Short Term Domestic Deployment– JAN(GTIN) -> 6 digit category code + Product name + etc

– JICFS (JAN Item Code File Service)

– Number of registered product 5,809,454

• Usage– Retailer 4,762– Whole Sale Retailer 694

• Manufactures, system integrator 439

Summary

• We have developed a testbed based on EPC, and applying it to agricultural products traceability

• We also have developed a relief supply management system as a “mode” of the above system

• We will provide our findings in these application areas
