One Possibility....Green Design/Technologies

There Exists the problem of sustainability in the technologies...

lIKE eVERY TECHNOLOGY INTODAY’S WORLD EVEN THE “GREEN” ONES UNDERGO THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING.tHE gASES EMMITED BY THESEiNDUSTRIES CONTRIBUTES IN gLOBAL wARMING

The Longevity of this technology is inferior when compared to the scale of time for our globe

SUSTAINABILITY

traditional architecture

Architecture after the industrial revolution focused heavily on mass production and standardization of theways buildings came about.

All of these elementswill result into an inert object, whichrequrires manitenance.THIS IS UNSUSTAINABLE

The introduction of the I-Beamor H-Beam became standardizedduring the modern period.this is one example of the

prefabrecated materials

Another element which is crucial to the process of constructing architectureis a group of people

employing heavy machinery

This technology is used tosustain buildings which arenOT sustainable to start. They Use up a lot of energyand the net loss does not exceedes the net gain

Problem Remains that they belong to:

Therefore, all we did was design green....

Protocells can be a remarkable solution for the sinking ofVenice. The Protocells can act as a catalyst for creating alandscape into the lagoon that has invaded Venice. The threetypes of protocell colonies can create forms that which are not only sustainable but also long term solutions. Although the process of the settlement is long, these metabolic matters are able to respond to external naturaloccurences.

A Day In Class... Final Reviews

investigating one of the more recent phenomenon

One of the more recent virtual phenomenons in today’ssociety is the emergence of FACEBOOK. With more than half a billion people around the globe having an accountthis site has truly become a remarkable setting for socialinteraction in the virtual world. Since we live in an information technology age we havebecome greatly influenced by interacting in a digital world rather than the real world.. Therefore IN this Project I amendeavouring in creating a structure based on the spatial arrangememnts that constitute the privacy iof the individualprofiles. SOme individuals are comfortable sharing all their profile information with everyone, hence making it public, othera little less and so forth. This has caused some controversy in the recent years since this website has been responsible for taking people’sreputations, jobs, relationships of even lives. On theother hand it has given people opportunities to meet oldfriends, allowed for online dating, job or sometimeseven saved peoples’ lives. Although there are a myriad of functions in the site, theproject will investigate the spatial metaphors of privacysettings on facebook.

DefaultSetting

The Internet will be the support for the frame which will represent the settings of such profiles, henceforth thespcaces represented in the model. The goal is to see howthe physical arrangement of such spaces affects the socialdynamics. How a face-to-face interactions isolates the who try to hide behind the screen of a computer, or theones that do not prefer any social interactions.

The habitable spaces in the form of branches based on the privacysetting and popularity of one’s profile there is an augmenting number of individuals that have access to the space information

Information Highway.....The Core ofcommunication is evidently the internet

Detail of the stabilityof the branch as it is held by a 2mm screwoffering mobility

As one progressively reachesthe peak of the networkthe branches become moreexclusive due to the privacy settings, however theirnumber increases along the circumference of the circle

The models seems a direct translation from thecomplex space that deals with the privacy on facebook. there seems an immediate relationshipbetween individuals that desire popularity and alarger social network, therefore they remainedgrouped on the longer “branches” of the entirenetwork frame.Individuals that require more privacy remain detached from the large social branches

An Algorithmic Computation

In order to determine the pattern that the branches will take as theyattach into the trunk, in this case, The information Highway, i have employed a simple algorithmic arrangement. Since the longer branches house the greatest number of individuals they are the least in number in order to balance population that remains in private section.

A simple calculation of positive integers:1, 1, 1+1=2, 2+1=3, 3+2=5......These numbers are found in nature

"...for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, although a convincing one."

UNDERSTANDING IN

TIME ARCHITECTURE

Classisal

Modern

Time is a very intereseting concept, and a veryrelative one. As Einstein says in his quote: Past, Present and Future all exist simoultaneously,Architecture, is one of the fields that manifests such concept in a physical fashion. It conditions us to believe that a building belongs to a certain time. A classical buildingin 2010 would not be qualified as contemporary. Therefore, there exist two relative times when talking about the 4th dimension.

t = the time which the building is build and exists in space.t = the time which people percieve the building, to be part of. For example, people in Bilbao have often been quoted that the Guggenheim Museum by Frank Gehry...as a ship fallen from the sky. The latter notion signifies that the building is percieved to belong to another time. Often times this sparks controversy, however it is this kind of building that breaks from tradition and makes it really stand out

cupola

There remained one key element which defined the renaissance building and how it fit its zeitgesit. A key ornament/support remained the columns derived from the five orders

The dome along with the cupola wereelements borrowed from the church. Many

of the renaissance buildings werea derivation of church building

elements. The Patrons believed thatthese elements were symbolic ofreligion, thus there would remain

a place for them in the heavens

Curves Elipse

There still exists the notion of symmetry in the plan of these contemporary buldings as we percieve them. Not too different fromthe Rennaisance Villa

Curves Have Dominated The Market

In Contemporary Design.

Designers have been intrigued

By their Regular Irregularity

tHE fURNITURE WAS A WINING ENTRY IN rec-lINE cOMPETITION.tHE pURPOSE WAS TO COME UP WITH AN ORIGINAL dESIGN FOR A CHAIR WHICH WOULD BE MADE OUT OF RECUCLABLE MATERIALS, PREFERABLY THINGS FOUND FROM GARBAGE SITES.

To Quote the great oscar niemeyer:There is a great beauty in the senuous curves...

The Primary Goal of the Design Competition was to creatively comeup with a design that would incorpo-rate recycable or biodegradable Materials......

Sisal isa duarble material whichcan endure high tenisile

Posture is anotherImportant aspect in designing the chair.THe weaving Techniqueenable the back supportto come closer to the lower back in orderto adjust it

Experiments Dealing with the main challenge/success of thechair, the weaving. Different Materials behaved differently

Direction offorces whenpressure isexerted on sisal

Since Sisal Has Different Physical Properties from Museums Board, The Weaving Technique Had To change. The Straight Sisal Tightens The Sides for better support.

In order to Make The ChairMore Comfortable to Sit, Additional Sisal is Added in A spiral form. This is the final touch to bringing all the components.

A unique feature of the design remains

its authenticity.A chair belonging toa rather religious

setting.Some Have interpreted

Boy I wonder if theyhave this on sale atEbay.

3D PAINTING

The purpose of this project was to investigate a cubist painting and extract some of the more interesting “clusters of Spaces” from these paintings into a model along with technical drawings......The human body would come into consideration, therefore there would come aneed for opeining spaces in a fre-flowing manner

The Translation from An Abstract Painting Such As The Pedestal On Table Is NO Simple Task. Intuition Was One Of The Key Factors In Translating From The Myriad of Suggested Shapes Into Potential Forms. Since Braque`s Painting Obscures The Origin Of These SeeminglyFloating Forms, The Origin Of Such Forms BecomesArbitrary.
