ABOUT ME

I grew up on a farm in a small town

called Arlington, Nebraska.

I have 3 siblings, an older sister, Danelle, an

older brother,

Nathan, and a younger

sister Melissa.

I am currently

enrolled at the

University of South Dakota in Vermillion,

South Dakota.

MY PARENTSMy parents have always been influential to me. They work hard and possess positive values. My mom owns her own screen printing company and my dad is a farmer. He is the 5th generation on our farm.

HOBBIES AND ACTIVITIESIn high school I participated in basketball, cross country and track.• I went to state 2 years for discus and my

senior year I placed 8th.Art is my passion and career choice.• I enjoy drawing, painting, and ceramics.• Cezanne and Kandinsky are two

influential artist to me.Music is another passion of mine.• Even though I don’t sing or play an

instrument I think music is a large part of who I am and it can influence my art.

PROFESSIONAL GOALS

Goal 1

•To be a good mentor and roll model•I want to be a teacher that students can model themselves after and I want to display behavior, not just talk about it.

Goal 2

•To get students excited about art and have them reach their full potential.•I don’t want students to think of my class as school work, I want them to enjoy what they do.

Goal 3

•To help students in a constructive way. •As an art student, I have noticed that when I need help some teachers will paint or draw on my artwork which I feel doesn’t make the piece mine. I want to help in a more positive way.

WHERE DO I WANT TO BE IN 10 YEARSI would to be living in an average size town either in the mid west or the east coast. I hope to be married with one or two children. I also would like to be working at a high school and maybe be starting my own art center.
