• Malaga Fair commemorates the taking of city by the Catholic Kings on the 19th of August, 1487, which would have been joined to the Kingdom of Castilla.

• There is a clear division between the areas where people can enjoy themselves. So we can say there are two fairs, the daytime fair right in the city centre, and the one at night in another area near the city called Cortijo de Torres, even though one can have fun there all day.

• Many people from nearly every corner of the world travel to our city to have fun in the fair and dance to a tune of Malaga, the so called Verdiales.

• The streets of the city centre are especially decorated for the occasion to look at its best sights. Also you can see horse exhibitions and carriage parades all through the duration of the event.

• At night Cortijo de Torres is widely illuminated and people flock there to get fun and enjoy every fairground attraction on the site.

Port of Malaga is a place where there are restaurants and shops. It was constructed in 1910. Nowadays you can see some shows. In August, when the fair arrives, it’s possible to see some

fireworks from the port. This place was discorvered by civilisation’s fenicio.

• The building is considered to belong to the so-called romantic theatres, highly common when the 19th century was drawing to its close and well into the 20th century. This one was built around 1932 and initially conceived to be a place to exhibit films.

• It would be rehabilitated in 2009 and presently used to all sorts of artistic exhibition. In addition, it is one of the theatres where people can attend the Festival de Málaga de Cine Español (FMCE).

The Roman theatre can be found near the Alcazaba, right in the city centre. It was built in the 2nd century AD and remained hidden until its rediscovery in 1951.

After being rehabilited, it’s currently used as a stage to put on any sort of artistic performances.
