The offices of technology company Cathx Ocean receive a contemporary and practical flooring refurbishment thanks to Amtico Carpet.

When Cathx Ocean purchased the office building it had been renting, the company undertook an upgrade and refurbishment programme. The overall ambition was to invoke a more contemporary look and feel, which reflected the ethos of a technology focussed company. The Cathx Ocean team worked with a designer to create new, light spaces and, by using a monochrome palette, transformed “dreary” offices into “exciting and vibrant” areas, which are bright and user-friendly.

The offices’ new-look design is modern and fresh, with a palette of blacks, whites and greys that suit a technology-led company such as Cathx Ocean. Amtico’s carpet tiles were specified to provide a neutral yet vibrant finish throughout the main office areas, as well as the stairs, landing and two meeting rooms. This was achieved by utilising Cable Dove from Amtico’s Inscribe collection, which offers deep colour and a plush, tweed-like texture.

Amtico Carpet comprises 11 individual collections, with 22 designs and 106 different colourways, enabling clients to choose and blend together a broad spectrum of patterns and shades.

Ideal for premium office use and providing a soft, welcoming feel, the tiles have a pile thickness of 4.3mm and a total thickness of 7.7mm. They come in two easy-to-install modular sizes and have a 10-year commercial warranty.

Consisting of high performance Type 6.6 nylon, which is designed to help the carpet keep its shape and resist matting and crushing, the tiles are incredibly fade resistant and come with XGuard stain resistant technology, ensuring they stay looking better for longer. The addition of a soil resistance treatment makes the carpet simple to clean and ensures ease of maintenance.
