Figure 3 depicts animals in nature with no particular story. The design of the lacquer work is rich in representations of the animal life intermingled amidst the vegetation. Small creatures are in general drawn more realistically than large ones. The effect of the composition gives a real sense of the tropical fauna intermingled with luxuriant flora. Animals are reproduced realistically or partly conventionalized, each of them drawn with their proper characterization.

The activities of animals implied a happy life at that time. They were an analogy to the life of Thai people.

The three birds in the left side of the middle zone reflect a family life in which the father went out to find food for his family.

The two squirrels are doing a quite different activity, flirting. Above this couple is a bird looking at the squirrels, similar to someone who likes spying on other’s business.

The three birds in row at the top-left seemed to learn to fly from the bird right in front of them. Lai kranok is prominently applied to create beautiful plants.
