Ammunition AP Composite Non-rigid Projectiles

Another attempt at producing a projectile that was smaller after firing than at the beginning. This was achieved by adding an adapter to the muzzle of the weapon firing the shot. The adapter had a taper built into it that caused the shot to be swaged down in size as it passed through it. Several drawbacks are immediately apparent in this approach. The weapon could not fire a standard projectile while the adapter was fitted and the adapter life was short due to the very high pressures and velocities applied to it. The necessity of providing another piece of equipment to the weapon system adds to the cost.
