Spring 2013

Trifecta of Campus MinistryFor the third year in a row we have hosted a Trifecta of Campus

Ministry groups. When we were in Mexico City, we connected

with the ChiAlpha group from Sam Houston State University in

Texas when they came to work with our campus ministry called

Jovenes Con Decision (JCD). Shortly after we moved to Costa

Rica, the ChiAlpha group planted a new ministry in Fort Collins,

Colorado. We were thrilled to work with those leaders again

when they chose to bring a team down to Costa Rica in 2011.

When the Mexican leaders heard about the trip, they wanted to

come too! This was a major step in the development of the JCD

ministry- now THEY were the ones GOING on a missions trip.

This spring, for the third year in a row we have hosted the

double team of ChiAlpha Colorado and JCD working with ourProyecto U groups here in Costa Rica. It is inspiring to our

leaders to see the possibilities lived out by these two groups!

Touch the Campus, Reach the World

Family in MinistryOur kids are looking forward to being done

with school in two weeks because we are full-

swing into Team Season. We involve our kids

in the ministry of hosting summer teams and

they really have a blast. Our kids translate

often and act as resident experts on all things

related to puppets, sound systems, and guided

tours of Costa Rica. Last summer we sentTaylor back to Minnesota to get his driver’s

license, and he was totally bummed to miss

out on all we did together as a family with the

teams. Our kids are an important part of our

ministry. Involving them in what God is doing

here is crucial to their spiritual growth and

contentment on the mission field.

Leading Leaders in the TruthIn April we hosted our first Proyecto U Truth Conference

To Encourage Your Financial Faith

Our God just amazes me! Recently God has been asking me, “Do youthink I am enough for you?” Scientists measure the universe with alight year, which is 4.88 trillion miles. They tell us that the edge of the“Known Universe” is 98 billion light years away. So if you could travelat the speed of light for 98 billion years you might reach the edge ofthe Universe. And scriptures tell us that God measures the Universewith the palm of His hand . Is there any problem that our Great Godcan’t take care of? Is there any financial need that is too big for Him tofill? Times are tough everywhere, but God is big enough to meet all ofyour needs and ours too. If God is urging you to support our ministry, please contact us by email at [email protected]. Or use the AGsecure giving website at http://s1.ag.org/amiot . Thank you for yourpartnership.

Last summer we hosted a team from Brandon, Florida that was lead by Pastor Brent and Ada Simpson. Theyworked with a poor church in Concepción. Seeing that the church was in desperate need of new bathroomfacilities, they returned home and raised the money to construct them. By January, the church had used thefunds to build new handicap accessible bathrooms. This dramatically affected their relationship with thecommunity and the church doubled in size! Wanting to see the completion of this project, Brent and Adareturned to Costa Rica. Since they were coming, we asked if Brent would be willing to do some teaching onapologetics for our University Students. He was more than happy to oblige.

When 60 people showed up for the Truth Conference, we considered it a success. But when we heard thatseveral of those in attendance returned to their churches armed with their notes and RETAUGHT the materialto their people, we saw the Laws of Multiplication were in action. This is how the Kingdom of God grows!

Pastor Brent also spoke in the High School Chapel at Sojourn Academy where our 3 kids go to school, and helead our monthly Proyecto U Leaders’ meeting as well. He and Ada took the time to pray over our leaders andminister in the Spirit to each of them. It was powerful! We are thankful for their ministry investment.
