Lath Accessories -Hot Dip Galvanized SteelSCOPEThis submittal covers galvanized steel lath accessories installed with interior and exterior Portland Cement-Based Plaster. All accessories shall have perforated or expanded fl anges to permit complete embedment in the plaster, to provide for accurate alignment, and to secure attachment of the accessory to the underlying surface in receiving the specifi ed thickness of plaster.

MATERIALSGalvanized Sheet Steel; G60 hot dip galvanized coating per ASTM A653.

THICKNESS OF BASE MATERIALSG60 hot dip galvanized sheet steel to ASTM A653 with a minimum thickness 0.0172-inch prior to galvanizing as required by ASTM C1063 and C1861.

AMICO RECOMMENDS THE USE OF ACCESSORIES MADE FROM ZINC ALLOY, PVC AND OR STAINLESS STEEL MATERIALS FOR ALL EXTERIOR APPLICA-TIONS.

AMICO recommends that care should be taken in the selection of an appropriate material for lath accessories based upon the climatic and environmental conditions specifi c to the project location, such as salt air, industrial pollution, high moisture, or humidity as noted in ASTM C1063.

PACKAGING AND PACKAGE MARKINGAvailable in standard10-ft long lengths. Longest pos-sible lengths shall always be installed to avoid joints. Each factory box shall be marked with manufacturer’s name, and style of lathing accessory.

The 3" expanded mesh wings are easily fl exed to adapt to framing irregularities and to match appropriate screed heights.

DESCRIPTIONCorner Bead is an external corner reinforcement acces-sory made by expanding metal and bent to reinforce portland cement stucco at external corners and to also establish grounds. X-1 Corner Beads for outside corners have a smooth round nose bead with Diamond Mesh wings for the keying of plaster right up to the nose of the bead.

Cornalath is used in corners where walls intersect with adjacent walls or ceilings. The reinforcing of corners helps prevent cracks.

FOR STUCCO AND PLASTER INSTALLATIONSStriplath is a diamond mesh lath product used to reinforce around the corners of doors and windows reducing stress cracks.

FOUNDATION WEEP SCREEDGalvanized Steel ConstructionFOR STUCCO AND PLASTER INSTALLATIONSDrainage Wall ApplicationsThe 3½” nailing fl ange serves as a fl ashing when wa-ter resistant breathable building paper or paper backed lath is installed over the fl ange. The holes in the “V” stop act primarily as a keying mechanisms and also off er mi-nor moisture weeping capabilities. As stucco cures it will shrink slightly away from the “V” stop allowing moisture to fl ow down the building paper and exit down the sloped surface.
