NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT The Nominating Committee chaired by Board Mem-
ber Art Watkins has reported that the following have
accepted the nomination for the positions as listed:
PRESIDENT: Jack Davis (currently Vice President)
VICE PRESIDENT: Dave Wester
SECRETARY: Al Downs
TREASURER: John Nichols (currently Treasurer)
BOARD MEMBERS: Art Watkins and Pat Neuroth
(both currently Board Members who’s terms expire at
the February 2013 Annual Meeting)
PRESIDENTS REPORT It has been a “long ride” and most of it rather
smooth—a few bumps along the way but fortunately
no chuck holes. That is certainly due to the great co-
operation I have had from the Officers, Board and you,
the Northwest Chapter Members!!!
I can still remember the evening on February 25,
1995 at our winter Northwest Chapter meeting at Pe-
derson’s Petroleum Museum in Seattle. It was an eve-
ning dinner meeting. Jeanette and I entered the old
automobile dealership building from the alley, walked
up the board ramp to the second floor and was greeted
by a “call” and motion from Jerry Noordman that he
wanted to talk to me. He informed me that Bob
Brown had been our President since 1983 (I knew that
since Jeanette & I had attended the 3rd Chapter Meet-
ing on January 28, 1984) and wanted to give up the
“job”. “Would I be President”, he asked. Jeanette & I
talked about it and I said, yes. I was elected and ap-
pointed/selected a Board of Directors that night. We
subsequently generated By-Laws for the Chapter
which were adopted on April 26, 1996—one of the
first ATHS Chapters to adopt ByLaws. (see page 3)
Another thing happened at that February 1995 meeting
that I won’t forget—Tom Krajieck was new to the
Northwest having moved here from New York. He
wondered why we didn’t have a Chapter Truck Show
since the Chapter back there had one. That started the
wheels turning for our 1st Chapter Truck Show held
at Stroh’s Feed property in Gig Harbor on July 9 &
10, 1996. (continued on page 8)
