Resources
• E-mail most important• LinkedIn• ASPRS Website• Other (GoToMeeting)• Facebook• No one wants us to use Twitter
If I had to give us a grade…
• 45+ contacts were made• Majority say we are doing well on communication• We were on the upper side of being understandable• Adding all the answers to how would you rate the value, we received
a 97 out of a potential 140. • We still have room for improvement, which is why we do beta tests,
right?
Known Problems
• People become too busy to participate.• “Matching” mentor/mentee is time consuming and there is no “right”
answer• Sustainability• Impersonal letters• Need to improve “profiles”• Structuring?• Tracking• Intimidating?
Commentary
• Mentors learn from mentees! • Several people found internships / jobs• Field trips• Connection to other members when not “right” mentor for the job• Good ice-breaker• Fantastic resource; priceless• Strong support continues• Personalization and responsiveness appreciated
Suggestions
• Success Stories to encourage participation• Brown-bag webinars (web-based seminars)• Self-service process• YPC troubleshooters• More Guidelines (FAQ page)• Make it spatial (face to face)
