These original and unmistakable rhythms have endured through decades. These musical styles, including vocal music artists of Rancheras; Boleros; Tangos, etc. have continuously been enjoyed in the United States and around the world. Supervisor, Communicad; Right , Joe Avila, Community Outreach Manager, Ford Motor Company, & member of the Smithsonian Board of Directors. “American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music,” is a Smithsonian traveling exhibition. It promotes and presents the musical contributions of U.S. Latinos from the 1940s to the present, exploring the social history and individual creativity that produced stars like Tito Puente, Ritchie Valens, Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan, and Selena. Ford Motor Company Fund has made the Experience Music Project (EMP) Exhibition for national tour and travel by the Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibition which will be traveling to 13 cities through 2015.     Left, Cuba native Gloria Estefan and the band Miami Sound Machine top the charts during the 1980s and 1990s, with Songs

    like "Conga" and "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.” Right, Selena, “The Tejano Sensation.” Unfortunately, she suffered a tragic

    death at an early age.

    The highlight of the evening was the dancing music provided by the popular Miami Nites Band. Dancing and enjoying the wonderful Latino music are Roberto and Edna Canino.
