Virginia Tech last hosted the conference in 2000 at the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center, a hotel that was originally opened in 882. While that property is a beautiful and historic prop- erty still affiliated with the university, The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, built in 2005 is more conveniently located on the campus and offers comfortable and modern facilities. The VT College of Engineering is proud to celebrate this tenth year “re-union” at our new conference center. Prospective attendees are invited to check out the Inn at http:// www.thein- natvirgin- iatech.com/ where you will find informa- tion not only about the Inn but also events and attractions in and around Blacksburg. Of course, current University and campus news and activities can be found at http:// www.vt.edu/. President Plemmons’s Message (Continued on page 3) ASEE Vision Statement “ASEE will serve as the premier multidisciplinary society for individuals and organizations committed to advancing excellence in all aspects of engineering and engineering technology education.” SE Section Web Address: http://cee.citadel.edu/asee-se/ Now is the time to look at the Engineering Educator of 206, be- cause when we do so, we look at ourselves. We and those joining our ranks in the next few years will provide the educational expe- riences of the Engineer of 2020. In the classroom, we will take that young person through a life-changing journey and produce an engineer capable of transforming his or her world.
