  • Young Member Group MissionThe Young Members Group works to encourage and enable all young professional members to be actively involved in the efforts and endeavors of the Society at all levels by: sponsoring non-technical workshops and meetingscollaborating with other Divisions and Groups in developing technical and non-technical content for topical and national meetingsencouraging its members to participate in the activities of the Groups and Divisions that are closely related to their professional interests as well as in their local sectionsintroducing young members to the rules and governance structure of the Societynominating young professionals for awards and leadership opportunities available to members.

  • YMG Division LiaisonsServe as point of contact between Professional Division (PD) or Technical Group (TG) and YMG Identify potential collaborations between PD/TG and YMGExpected duties include:Attending YMG Executive Committee meetings at the ANS National MeetingsParticipating in email discussions on the executive committee list serv Providing a report on the activities of the YMG to PD/TG at each ANS National MeetingWorking with PD/TG governance to identify potential areas of collaboration with YMGNotifying YMG of opportunities for collaboration with PD/TG, such as:Jointly organized sessions or workshopsInvolving young members in program or meeting planning for PD/TG sponsored activitiesInvolving young members in the governance of the PD/TGServing as coordinator for joint programs and activities between the PD/TG and YMGFacilitating communication between contributors to those programsProviding updates to the PD/TG on progress toward the objectives of the joint program or activity
