reproductive health issues such as evaluation and treatment of infertility, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, treatment of menopausal symptoms, prevention and management of HPV, treatment of fibroids, and contraceptive prescribing

• Identify recent advances in the understanding of vitamin D physiology and its role in health maintenance and disease prevention

• Explain current evidence and approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease and hyperlipidemia in women, including the impact of reproductive outcomes on cardiovascular risk

• Describe risk assessment for osteoporotic fractures & therapeutic strategies for management of osteoporosis

• Review management strategies for palpitations and syncope in women

• Describe recent advances in the understanding and management of pain in women

• Review management strategies for psychiatric disorders in the pregnant and peripartum woman, including treatment with pharmacologic agents

• Cite recent evidence regarding the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and child

• Describe the mechanisms by which estrogen affects memory function

• Review the prevalence of the Metabolic Syndrome in women with PCOS, including the therapeutic implications

• Define new concepts in the biology of breast cancer including ways in which new biologic mechanisms will alter management

• Formulate why health literacy needs to be on the agenda for improving women’s health

• Describe the mechanisms and treatments of eye diseases most common to women

• Review how multiple sclerosis (MS) can be differentiated from other common neurolologic problems in women

• Define the evidence-based role of lifestyle changes, behavioral intervention and pharmacologic agents in tobacco addiction and cessation

• Review state of the art approaches to the evaluation and management of fibromyalgia

• Describe the public health impact of the federal population planning policies

• Describe evidence-based strategies for prevention, assessment and intervention for partner violence in health care settings
