Resident Spotlight:MARILYN G.
Our spotlight resident, MarilynG., was born and raised inManhattan with her sister, Estelle. After high school, Marilyn workedas an assistant to a Hematologyand Oncology doctor.
On February 5, 1949, ahandsome young man named Allen“literally” fell for Marilyn at a JewishWar Veterans dance (he tripped andshe caught him!). They danced thenight away and less than a yearlater, on Dec. 17, 1949, they weremarried. They then moved toOakland, NJ, where they raised twoamazing children, their daughter,Jeri, and their late son, Miles.
Marilyn and Allen decided tomove to Florida when they got tiredof the 8-foot-tall wall of snow liningtheir driveway. So they dusted offtheir sandals, gave away the snowshovel and headed down to WestPalm. Sadly, Marilyn lost Allen, the
love of her life, three years ago.Marilyn is very proud of daughter
Jeri, son-in-law Tom andgranddaughters Marisa and Michele.Tom is a member of the Dade CitySymphony. They make sure we havegreat seats when we attend theconcerts. Thank you, Jeri and Tom!
A resident here since Nov. 18,2014, Marilyn loves Bingo, lunchoutings, and especially Wii Bowling, with a record score of 278! Heradvice to new move-ins: “It’s a wholedifferent lifestyle. You have to bepatient and adjust. If you can do that, you will be happy here.” Great advicefrom a great lady. Congratulations,Marilyn. Keep on bowling!
