Thiswill give you time to start thinking ofthat special talent you want to sharewith others, or a favorite hobby youhave that you can talk about or perform.I know some of you that used to paint,you can bring a painting or two to showit off. Or if you crochet or knit ... bringsome stuff that you have made to show.If you sing, sing us a song. Play aninstrument, be able to recite thealphabet backwards, write poems,etc...! Acouple veterans have showninterest in creating a “VeteransCommittee” to meet once ortwice a month, to share stories,and experiences that you allendeavored. During this time,you can all discuss futuremeetings and I will schedulethem for you. Some ideas thathave been voiced for thiscommittee were showing movies,sharing pictures, reciting thePledge of Allegiance, etc... Thiswill be your (the resident’s)committee. A Matter of Balance Workshop!The Area Agency on Aging is offering A Matter of Balance Workshop. It is 8

weeks long, 2 hours per session with a 10 minute break and a healthy snackincluded. The cost for the entire workshop is $15.00. Participants will receive aworkbook, certificate, and a $15.00 gift card to Walgreens when you completethe workshop. During the workshop, you will achieve better health outcomes bylearning skills to manage your own wellness, learn and share experiences withpeers, and enjoy social interactions.

If you are interested, please let the office or Jennifer know. We will be keepinga list of who is wanting to join, so then we can let Area Agency on Aging knowso they can schedule a time to start.

Detroit. Her senior year the familymoved to Royal Oak. She was marriedto David for 30 years. Peggy workedin banking until she had her two sons.She is now the grandmother of 3 andgreat-grandmother to 1!! She was anavid doll collector and she volunteeredat Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oakand also at some senior centers.Peggy likes to bowl and play cards.Please introduce yourself to Peggywhen you see her.

grew up in the metropolitan Detroitarea. She was married to Henry for 59years and they both worked atMichigan Consolidated gas company.They are parents to 4 daughters, 12grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren. Mary and her husbandlived in Bayonet Pointe, FL for 25years prior to moving back to MI. Theyloved touring Europe many timestogether. Mary loves to read, bakeand write letters to friends and family.Welcome Mary to her new home!!
