SPRINGTIME SPATouch is so important to

individuals with Alzheimer’s anddementia-related diseases.Individuals who arememory-impaired don’t lose therecognition of caring touches.When verbal communicationbecomes more difficult, touch canbe an effective way ofcommunicating. Touch can lowerblood pressure, bring a sense ofcalm, decrease pain, and elevatemood. There have been studiesshowing positive results indecreasing agitated behaviors usingtouch and massage. This month,residents in “Memory Care” willenjoy time getting a relaxing handmassage on April 18, at 3:00 p.m. Iffamily members are interested in

helping with this activity, pleasecontact Patti.
