Addy Walker Addy is a girl who lives in the time of the Civil War and keeps her hopes high because she

is sure that someday the war will end, she will get to see her grandparents and her little three year old sister, Sam her brother will come home from the war, and that everything will be alright.

She also has to face living in a boarding home and face a rich girl in school who has tons of dresses and no bragging rights. The worse part is that she has to be desk buddies with her.

Addy is sure that everything is going to be okay.
