If you pour beer by the “pint,” you might be acting under a common misconception — that a 16 ounce glass will hold a “pint” of beer, and leave room for a full head of foam.

Barware is measured to overflow capacity by necessity, as it can be used for a variety of purposes. The measurement refers to the maximum amount of liquid the glass will hold, and is subject to an allowable manufacturing deviation.

If it is important to refer to your beer service as a “pint,” we recommend a 20 ounce glass, as shown here, so there is plenty of room to show off the foamy head.

Of course, the 16 ounce glass is still a great choice for a draft beer — but not if you want to call it a “pint.”

Libbey’s Munique Beer showcases the often vivid colors of a fruit beer and provides an upscale presentation.

Consider Libbey’s Belgian Beer or Grand Service for properly serving the right portion of these very high-alcohol content beers.

Perfect for serving classic European pilsners and other pale lagers, Principé showcases a beer’s color, clarity and carbonation. The conical shape helps maintain the beer’s head, while the narrow design allows the aromas to reach your nose, providing the ultimate beer experience. Also consider Libbey’s Tall Beer No. 3823, Footed Ale No. 3815, or Pilsner No. 3804.

Very large and durable, Libbey’s Dimple Stein is ideal for proper serving of Oktoberfest and other dark German lagers.

The conical shape of Principé beautifully showcases the rich amber color and supports the creamy off-white head of Bock.

The rounded bowl and inward tapering top of Libbey’s Belgian Beer glass captures the rich, malty flavors and offers the perfect presentation for Doppelbock.

Libbey’s Pub Glasses are ideally suited for the generally more hoppy, craft-brewed versions of the German dark and amber lagers. For a more dazzling, upscale presentation, consider Libbey’s Footed Ale No. 3815.
