Not to be confused with adverbs

• Adverbs are words that usually describe verbs. They will often end in -ly– The boy ran quickly– The slug crawled slowly

• Sometimes adverbs also describe adjectives– The night was completely dark.– Susie May is a very pretty girl.

sentence. (Noun + verb)• Next Student adds an adjective to the

sentence.• Next Student adds an adjective, article,

or adverb.• Etc, etc, etc• Each time the paper is passed,

students must re-write the sentence and include their new word.
