Amanda Jacobsen: My Personal Herstory

My Home Town

I was born in Santa Ana and I grew up all over Orange County.

My Education I have been to 3

traditional colleges, but the most important learning I have experienced has come from workshops & the reading I have done on my own time. The book that changed my life more than any other is about how to save the world, it’s called “Ishmael” and it was written by Daniel Quinn.

My Favorite Things

There are many things I feel love and appreciation for. Music, cinema, cats, photography, anthropology, and green anarchy just to name a few. I love avant garde films from the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s. My favorite directors are Luis Bunuel & Stanley Kubrick. I love the art & photography of Man Ray, Frank Auerbach, Glenn Brown, and Rene Magritte.

Travels

When I was 18 I moved to Portland, Oregon. I lived there for 3 years. I have been back in Orange County for a month now. My plan is to get back to Portland as soon as I can and spend the rest of my life there and never see Orange County again. My favorite thing about Portland, besides the amazing people, is the beautiful scenery.
