Introduction

Welcome! As an Amadeus Selling Platform customer, you are getting a browser-based reservation platform integrated with Graphical reservation tools such as Hotels Plus, Cars Plus, and much more. This powerful combination provides you with a comprehensive package of tools, information, content and resources to help you move forward confidently in today’s challenging travel environment.

This guide contains all of the information you need in order to prepare the computers in your office for installing and running Selling Platform.

Roles & responsibilities

Amadeus supports all software-related aspects of Amadeus Selling Platform as part of its contract with you. The procurement, installation, configuration, maintenance and operation of all equipment, cables and adaptors, and other related expenses are your responsibility. For your convenience, Amadeus has provided a list of several third-party vendors.

Before you install

Before you begin your installation of Amadeus products you will need to ensure there is nothing preventing the installation from processing normally.

Microsoft Windows access rights

A Windows login with local machine administrator rights is necessary to register a CID and install Amadeus Automatic Update, Selling Platform and all scripting products. Administrator rights are not necessary to launch and run Amadeus Selling Platform

It is recommended to temporarily disable the UAC (User Access Control) feature in Windows during the installation. It may be enabled again after installation is complete

The installer must have read/write access to these folders:

C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files

The Program Files (x86) for 64-bit Windows or the Program Files folder for 32-bit Windows. This is just to be able to create and modify the Amadeus folders and files.

XP and 2003:

Anti-virus software, pop-up blockers and toolbars

Amadeus strongly recommends you obtain anti-virus and firewall protection software from your provider if you do not already have them. However, some security software, as well as adware protection, pop-up blockers and the like, can interfere with the installation and proper operation of Amadeus software. If possible, disable them during the Amadeus installation process. Once the installation is complete, you can enable them again.

The installation of Amadeus products requires programs to run, scripts to execute and changes to the Windows registry. If your security software is running it may display an alert when these actions take place. If so, please allow them. If there is an option to allow them anytime they occur, select it to prevent future messages.

Options such as Norton’s script-blocking and Auto Protect (real-time file scanning) should be disabled during installation of Amadeus software. Pop-up blockers should be disabled for the required trusted sites. Toolbar options such as those that link web page words to external search engines should be disabled. These toolbars often include pop-up blockers, too.

Setting up your Internet browser

1. Log in to Windows. You must have a login with administrator rights to the local machine (preferably a non-domain login) to register your CID and install the software.

2. Verify the date and time settings for the PC. Correct them if necessary.

3. Open Internet Explorer.

Note: For Windows 7, Vista and 2008 servers you must launch Internet Explorer as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the Internet Explorer icon in the quick-start task bar area next to the Windows Start button and select Run as administrator. (If this option is not listed but you see Internet Explorer in the list, right-click on it and choose Run as administrator.)

4. Amadeus Virtual Support Center (AVSC) is a tool that automates the task of configuring Internet Explorer with the required settings. To use this tool, go to https://avsc.amadeus.net/emc/avsc.exe and run the file. Accept all prompts and follow the instructions on the screens. When the Amadeus Registration Site screen appears skip to the Installing Selling Platform section of this document. If you would rather make these changes manually, continue with the next step below.

5. Click the Tools menu.

6. Click Internet Options.

7. Click the Security tab.

8. Select the Trusted Sites tab and click the Sites button.

9. Clear the Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone check box.

10. In the Add this web site to the zone box, type each of the following trusted sites. Click Add after each entry to add them to the Websites box below.

14. Click the Custom Level button.

Installing Selling Platform

For security purposes and before installing the Amadeus software, you need to register your PC with Amadeus using your unique 12-digit CID (Amadeus Certificate ID). As part of the order fulfillment process, we send your CID information in an email message to your agency. If you do not have your CID, please contact your Amadeus Sales Manager. If you are at a remote location, you must contact your home office for this information.

To help you easily install Amadeus Selling Platform and quickly receive future upgrades, Amadeus uses a program called Amadeus Auto Update. This software is automatically installed on your computer when you register a CID. It allows us to deliver software over the Internet directly to your computer, eliminating delays and the need for CD-ROMs.

To register your CID, install Amadeus Automatic Update and Amadeus Selling Platform according to the instructions below.

Registering your CID and downloading Amadeus Automatic Update

1. Go to http://certificates.amadeusvista.com/sgwadmin to open the Amadeus Registration Site. {If you used the AVSC tool to configure your browser settings you should already have this screen up.}

2. At the Amadeus Registration Site, enter your 12-digit CID and your 9-character Office ID in the respective boxes as shown here:

3. Click Submit request.

4. Registration might take a few moments as Amadeus Automatic Update is also downloading.

5. When registration is complete the following message will appear:

Downloading and installing Amadeus Selling Platform

1. Once CID registration is complete Amadeus Automatic Update will start automatically. It will begin by comparing the Amadeus software on your PC to the software deployed for your CID on the Amadeus download server. This is Phase 1.

2. If Amadeus Automatic Update finds a difference between the software installed on the PC and the software on the server that is available for the CID, it will download whatever is new. In the case of a first time installation it will download all of Amadeus Selling Platform and any other products assigned to the CID. This is Phase 2.

3. After the software is downloaded you will be advised there is a product update to install. Click Continue> to proceed with the installation. This is Phase 3.

4. When the software has been installed you will receive a message that the configuration process is complete. Click OK.

5. Notice that the button now displays Check Updates and the status is “Wait.” Periodically, Amadeus Automatic Update will check the server to see if there are updates available for your software. Amadeus Automatic Update follows the same process for updates as it does for new installations.

6. Click on the upper right corner of the Amadeus Automatic Update screen to minimize it.

7. While minimized it will appear in your Windows system tray as an “a” icon.

8. If an update is downloading it will appear as an hour glass.

9. If Amadeus Automatic Update has been waiting for a response from you for a period of time the icon will change to an envelope. Click the icon and then click “Resume” to allow processing to continue.

To access Amadeus Selling Platform, you need your agent sign, duty code and password. You can get this information from your agency’s Local Security Administrator (LSA) who sets it up for you. If you are at a remote location, contact the home office for this information.

If you are your agency’s LSA, type HE LSA in the Selling Platform Command Page for more information on creating signs for your agents. Please contact the Functional Help Desk if you need further assistance.

1. With Internet explorer open, go to http://amadeusvista.com.

2. To launch Amadeus Selling Platform, click the Launch Amadeus Selling Platform link in the navigation area on the left.

3. When the Amadeus Selling Platform Sign In screen displays, enter your 6-character agent sign and 2-character duty code in the yellow boxes. Type your password in the corresponding box. Do not enter anything in New Password box unless you want to reset your current password.

Installing Scripts

Amadeus Selling Platform comes with the Amadeus North American Script Library and the Amadeus Rail Agent configurator script. Depending what you have contracted for you may also have other scripts (i.e. Master Pricer, Amadeus Quick Scripts, etc.)

The following scripts install after you sign into Amadeus Selling Platform the first time, or after you receive an update to the script(s).

1. Follow the first five steps of the section below to launch and sign into Amadeus Selling Platform. Then continue with the steps below.

2. Once you have signed into Amadeus Selling Platform for the first time (or after certain upgrades) you will receive prompts to install Amadeus script products. Please accept all prompts to complete these installations.

Note: script installations also require administrator rights.

3. Once the script installations are complete you will need to close Amadeus Selling Platform and launch it again before you will be able to use the scripts.

4. If you will be running Amadeus Selling Platform under a different login than the one you used to install it, log out of Windows now and log back in under your own user account.

5. If you disabled your security software during installation, you may enable it now.

Accessing Amadeus AgentNet and setting up Single Login for Integrated Products

To access Amadeus AgentNet, you need your customer number, user name, and password if you are the Local Security Administrator (LSA), or your user name and password as assigned by your LSA. If you are at a remote location, contact the home office for this information.

Note: An AgentNet username and password is also required to access Amadeus Tours.

1. If you are not already running Amadeus Selling Platform refer to the Launching and signing into Amadeus Selling Platform section of this document.

2. From the Amadeus Selling Platform desktop, click the AgentNet Smart Tab.

3. Complete the user name and password fields as follows:

Local Security Administrator (LSA): Your user name is your 8-character customer number (on your contract) and LSA, separated by a dot. Example: A0055235.LSA. Use the password you selected with your Amadeus sales manager.

Agents: Enter your Agent Login user name and Password as assigned by your LSA.

Setting up Single Login in AgentNet

When you log in to AgentNet you will need to set up your Single Login profile. This allows you to save your login information for Amadeus programs accessed through AgentNet so you don’t have to enter them each time you launch an Amadeus program through AgentNet.

1. When you first log in to AgentNet the Single Login window is displayed.

2. Enter your agent sign in the Agent Sign box.

3. Click the Command Page Smart Tab to locate your Amadeus Terminal ID (ATID).

4. Enter JD and press Enter. Your ATID is shown in the upper left corner.

5. In the U.S. market, your ATID begins with 67.

As the LSA, you are required to set up, administer and manage the unique user names and passwords for all agents, including remote users accessing Amadeus AgentNet. To add users:

1. Log in to Amadeus AgentNet as the LSA (see steps above).

2. Click Administration.

3. Click Manage Accounts.

4. Click Add Agent.

5. Complete the required fields.

6. Click Add.
