General Acts for All the Nights of Laylatul Qadr

It is recommended to take a Ghusl on the nights of Laylatul Qadr.

It is highly recommended to give Sadqa (alms) on these nights.

It is highly advisable to spend the three Qadr Nights with acts of

worship. A Hadith has it that one who spends the whole Qadr

Nights with acts of worship will have all his sins forgiven even

if they are as many as stars, as heavy as mountains, and as weighty

as seawater.

`Allamah al-Majlisiy has mentioned that the most favorable

deed at the Qadr Nights is to pray for Almighty Allah’s

forgiveness, to refer to Him, to pray for the settlement of one’s

worldly and religious affairs as well as for one’s parents, relatives,

and brethren-in-faith; the dead and the alive, and to pray for

sending blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household.

Reading some Fiqh rules is highly recommended.

`Allamah al-Majlisiy has confirmed that one should recite as

much amount as possible from the Holy Qur'an at this night

and should also pray with the supplications of the al-Sahifah al-

Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah in general and the supplications of

Makarim al-Akhlaq and al-Tawbah in particular.

It has been also narrated that when he was asked about the best

prayer that one may say at the Qadr Night, the Holy Prophet (a.s)

said, “Pray for good health.”

The Prophet (saws) used to awaken his family members at the

twenty-third night of Ramadhan (so as to practice acts of

worship) by splashing water on their faces.

Lady Fatimah al-Zahra' (a.s), too, used to prevent her family

members from sleeping at the twenty-third night of Ramadhan

by reducing the amount of food that she usually gave to them

and by making them sleep at day so as not to be overcome by

sleepiness at night. She then used to say, “The actual deprived

is he who is deprived of the good of this night.”

Resorting (Tawassul) to Ahlul-Bait [a]

The one who wants to be vigilant throughout the night, must

take refuge in the sinless (ma'sum) - the one to whom this

night belongs - at the beginning of that night, should stretch his

hands towards their generous threshold. With persistence,

supplicating in a polite and soft manner, with words and content

arousing their sympathies, should beseech them for bestowing

upon him the grace of being vigilant during this night. Then

he must surrender and hand over all his existence, reason, heart,

self, virtues, deeds to them, and throughout the night, must be

careful not to commit anything which is not in harmony with

this surrender, because the one who succeeds in it, certainly

would have achieved whatever he aspired for during this night.

How to Bid Farewell to the Night of Power (Lailatul-Qadr)

As was described for the other important and esteemed nights,

the Night of Power (Lailatul-Qadr) should also be farewelled

exactly in the similar manner, i.e. at the end of the night, one

should resort (tawassul) to the Impeccable ones (the

M'asumin [as]) - to whom that night belongs - should submit

his deeds and worships to those exalted ones, with a heart

broken, with grief and shedding tears, should request them to

make those deeds as righteous, and should intercede with Allah

(the Glorious, the Exalted), for their acceptance, and thus

making them as fruitful.

The sanctity of the Qadr Days should be considered by engaging

oneself with acts of worship, recitation of the Holy Qur'an, and

praying Almighty Allah. Through a considerable series of

narrators, it has been narrated that the Qadr Days are as holy as

the Qadr Nights.

2 Raka’ Salah for the Nights of Laylatul Qadr

It is recommended to offer a two Rak`ah prayer reciting at

each Rak`ah Surah of al-Fatihah once and repeating Surah

of al-Tawhid 7 times. After the accomplishment of the prayer,

the following invocation should be repeated 70 times:

أستغفر الله وأتوب إليه.I seek the forgiveness of Allah and I repent before Him.

According to a Hadith reported from the Holy Prophet (a.s),

Almighty Allah will forgive him who offers this prayer and will

forgive his parents before he leaves his place.

Try to first be really repentant for serious mistakes

done, sincerely ask for forgiveness either by: (a) recalling 70

different sins OR (b) feeling remorseful for 10 sins of the 7 main

organs: eyes, ears, tongue, hands, mouth, stomach + private

parts OR (c) some particular sins that you may have committed

repeatedly OR (d) recalling the variety of punishments of

different sins and finally resolve NOT TO repeat them in the

future, then only can one realistically expect to deserve the

reward the Holy Prophet has promised “Whoever performs this

act will surely be forgiven by the Almighty even before here

rises from his place".

Amaal of Qur’an in the Nights of Laylatul Qadr

It is recommended to open a copy of the Holy Qur'an between

one’s hands and say the following:

(When opening the Qur’an and praying for your needs with the

intercession of the Qur’an, realize that while the Qur’an is a cure

for spiritual illness, it only benefits the pious ones and the evil

doers are deprived of its illumination. Thus increase the chances

for Qur’an intercession to work on your behalf by earnestly

following the rulings of the Qur’an. )

بكتابك المنزل وما فيه اللهم إني أسألك

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your revealed Book and

that which is in it,

وأسماؤك الحسنى وفيه اسمك األكبر

and Your Great Name and Your (Other) beautiful names are in it,

وما يخاف ويرجى

and in it there is that which warns and gives hope.

أن تجعلني من عتقائك من النار.That You may include me among those who have been set free

from the Hellfire.

Then, one may implore Allah to fulfill one’s desires.

It is recommended to put a copy of the Holy Qur'an on the head

and say the following:

(While placing the Qur’an on the head, remind yourself that true

salvation can only be achieved by always keeping the rules of

Qur’an ahead of us to follow. The fact that we put the Qur’an on

our head is a sign of respect and reverence. We beseech Allah

by the thaqalayn - the speaking and the silent Qur'an (39:56) and

pray for the Aql (intelligence) to be completed so that it submits

to the Quran & acquires illumination from it.)

حق هذا القرآن اللهم ب

O Allah: for the sake of this (Holy) Qur'an,

وبحق من أرسلته به

and for the sake of that person through whom You sent it,

وبحق كل مؤمن مدحته فيه

and for the sake of those believers who have been praised therein,

وبحقك عليهم

and in the name of Your obligation to them,

فال أحد أعرف بحقك منك.no one is aware of Your obligation more than You.

Then, one should repeat each of the following ten times (with a

copy of the Holy Qur’an on the head):

(As you seek intercession of the Almighty and the 14

Infallibles realize that God is limitless in Mercy and

the Infallibles are pure agencies for the distribution of divine

mercy to all creations.)

بك يا الله،For Your sake, O Allah,

بمحمد،for the sake of Muhammad,

بعلي،for the sake of `Ali,

بفاطمة،for the sake of Fatimah,

بالحسن،for the sake of Hasan,

One should then pray Almighty Allah to fulfill one’s desires.

Ziyarah of Imam Husain for the Nights of Qadr

Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Mashhadiy has reported, through

considerable series of narrations, that Imam al-Sadiq (a.s) said the

following:

If you want to visit Imam al-Husayn (a.s)—on the Qadr

Nights—you may come to his holy shrine after you wash

yourself and put on the cleanest of your clothes. When you stop

at his tomb, you may face it, making the kiblah direction

between your shoulders, and say the following:

السالم عليك يا بن رسول الله،Peace be upon you; O son of Allah’s Messenger.

السالم عليك يا بن أميرالمؤمنين،Peace be upon you; O son of the Commander of the Faithful.

اهرة السالم عليك يا بن الصديقة الطPeace be upon you; O son of the veracious, immaculate lady

فاطمة سيدة نساء العالمين،Fatimah, the Doyenne of the women of the world.

السالم عليك يا موالي يا أبا عبدالله

Peace be upon you; O my master, Abu-`Abdullah.

ورحمة الله وبركاته،So be Allah’s mercy and blessings.

أشهد أنك قد أقمت الصالة،I bear witness that you offered the prayers,

وآتيت الزكاة،And you defrayed the zakat,

وأمرت بالمعروف،And you enjoined the right,

ونهيت عن المنكر،And you forbade the wrong,

وتلوت الكتاب حق تالوته،And you recited the Book (i.e. the Holy Qur'an) as exactly as it

should be recited,

وجاهدت في الله حق جهاده،And you strove for the sake of Allah as exactly as striving must be,

جنبه محتسبا حتى أتاك يذى ف وصبرت على األ

اليقين،And you faced all troubles steadfastly for His sake, seeking his

reward, until death came upon you.

وحاربوك أشهد أن الذين خالفوكI also bear witness that those who dissented you and those who

fought against you

والذين خذلوك والذين قتلوكAnd those who let you down and those who slew you

مي ملعونون على لسان النبي األ All those were accursed directly by the Meccan Prophet.

وقد خاب من افترى،And he who forges lies indeed fails to attain his desire.

لين واآلخرينولعن الله الظالمين لكم من األMay Allah curse those who wronged you from among the past and

the present generations.

ليم.وضاعف عليهم العذاب األMay Allah also double for them the painful torment.

أتيتك يا موالي يا بن رسول اللهO my master: I have come to you,

زائرا عارفا بحقك،Visiting you and acknowledging the standing that you enjoy,

مواليا ألوليائك،And declaring my loyalty to those who are loyal to you,

معاديا ألعدائك،And renouncing your enemies,

مستبصرا بالهدى الذي أنت عليه،And seeking to follow the true guidance that you are following,

عارفا بضاللة من خالفك،And recognizing the deviation of those who oppose you;

فاشفع لي عند ربك.So, (please) intercede for me before your Lord.

You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek on it,

move yourself towards the place of the head, and say the following:

السالم عليك يا حجة الله في أرضه وسمائه،Peace be upon you; O the Argument of Allah in His lands and

heavens.

طاهر،صلى الله على روحك الطيب وجسدك الMay Allah bless your immaculate spirit and your pure body.

وعليك السالم يا موالي ورحمة الله وبركاته.

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you; O my master.

You may again throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek

on it, move yourself towards the place of the head, and offer the

two Rak`ah prayer of Ziyarah after which you may offer any

possible amount of Rak`ahs.

Ziyarah of Ali ibn Husain on the Nights of Qadr

السالم عليك يا موالي وابن مواليPeace be upon you; O my master and son of my master

ورحمة الله وبركاته،So be upon you Allah’s mercy and blessings.

لعن الله من ظلمك،

May Allah curse those who wronged you.

ولعن الله من قتلك،May Allah curse those who slew you.

ليم.وضاعف عليهم العذاب األ

May Allah double the painful chastisement for them.

You may then pray Almighty Allah for anything you want.

Ziyarah of Martyrs of Karbala for the Nights of Qadr

السالم عليكم أيها الصديقون،Peace be upon you; O the veracious ones.

السالم عليكم أيها الشهداء الصابرون،Peace be upon you; O the steadfast martyrs.

أشهد أنكم جاهدتم في سبيل الله،I bear witness that you strove in the way of Allah,

ذى في جنب الله،وصبرتم على األAnd you acted patiently against harm for the sake of Allah,

ونصحتم لله ولرسوله حتى أتاكم اليقين،And you did sincerely for the sake of Allah and His Messenger

until death came upon you.

أشهد أنكم أحياء عند ربكم ترزقون،I bear witness that you are alive and are being provided

sustenance from your Lord.

المحسنين،سالم وأهله أفضل جزاء اإل فجزاكم الله عنMay Allah reward you with the best reward of the good-doers on

behalf of Islam and its people,

وجمع بيننا وبينكم في محل النعيم.

And may He join us to you in the abode of bliss.

Ziyarah of Abbas ibn Ali for the Nights of Qadr

السالم عليك يا بن أمير المؤمنين،Peace be upon you; O the son of the Commander of the Believers.

السالم عليك أيها العبد الصالح Peace be upon you; O the righteous servant (of Allah),

،المطيع لله ولرسولهThe obedient to Allah and to His Messenger.

أشهد أنك قد جاهدت ونصحتI bear witness that you strove (in the way of Allah) and acted

sincerely

وصبرت حتى أتاك اليقين،And tolerated (harm) until death came upon you.

لين واآلخرينوالله الظالمين لكم من األلعن May Allah curse those who wronged you from the past and the

present generations.

وألحقهم بدرك الجحيم.And may He send them to the lowest layer of the blazing Hell.

General Dua for the Nights of Laylatul Qadr –

Dua اللهم إني أمسيت

اللهم إني أمسيت لك عبدا داخرا

O Allah: surely, I am at this evening Your passive slave;

ال أملك لنفسي نفعا وال ضرا

I have no control of hurt or good to myself,

وال أصرف عنها سوء،And I cannot drive back any evil from myself,

أشهد بذلك على نفسي،I testify to so against myself,

وأعترف لك بضعف قوتي،And to You do I confess of my powerlessness

وقلة حيلتي،And my feebleness

فصل على محمد وآل محمد

So, (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad,

وأنجز لي ما وعدتني

And fulfill that of which You have promised me,

وجميع المؤمنين والمؤمنات

As well as all the believing men and women,

من المغفرة في هذه الليلة،That is Your forgiveness at this night.

وأتمم علي ما آتيتني

And accomplish that which You have conferred upon me,

فإني عبدك المسكين المستكين

For I am Your slave—the poor, the humble,

الضعيف الفقير المهين.The weak, the needy, the humiliated.

اللهم ال تجعلني ناسيا لذكرك فيما أوليتني،O Allah: (please) do not make me negligent of the mention of You

as regards that which You have bestowed upon me,

حسانك فيما أعطيتني،وال غافال إلAnd do not make me inadvertent to Your favors to me as regards

that which You have given me,

وال آيسا من إجابتك وإن أبطأت عني

And do not make me despair of Your responding to me, even if

such response is postponed,

في سراء أو ضراء

Whether I be in prosperity or adversity

أو شدة أو رخاء

Or hardship or comfort

أو عافية أو بالء

Or well-being or ordeal,

أو بؤس أو نعماء

Or misery or bliss.

إنك سميع الدعاء.Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.

Specific Amaal for the 19th Night of Ramadhan

It is recommended to repeat the following invocation 100 times

at the nineteenth night of Ramadhan:

وأتوب إليه.رب ي أستغفر الله

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him.

It is recommended to repeat the following invocation 100 times

at the nineteenth night of Ramadhan:

اللهم العن قتلة أمير المؤمنين.O Allah: (please do) curse the killers of the Commander of the

Believers (Amir al-Mu'minin Imam `Ali).

Dua Specific to the 19th Night- Dua يا ذا الذي كان

It is recommended to recite the following supplication:

يا ذا الذي كان قبل كل شيء،O He Who has been always there before all things,

ثم خلق كل شيء،And He then created all things,

ثم يبقى ويفنى كل شيء،And He then stays while all things vanish.

يا ذا الذي ليس كمثله شيء،O He Whose like in not found at all

ذا الذي ليس في السماوات العلى، وياO He; neither in the highest heavens,

وال في األرضين السفلى،Nor in the lowest layers of the earth

وال فوقهن وال تحتهن وال بينهن إله يعبد غيره،Nor above them, nor beneath them, nor there is between them

any god that is worshipped save Him.

لك الحمد حمدا ال يقوى على إحصائه إال أنت،To You be the praise that none can count save You,

فصل على محمد وآل محمد صالة ال يقوى على

إال أنت. إحصائهاSo, please bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

with the blessings that none can count save You.

Dua Specific to the 19th Night of Ramadhan –

Dua اللهم اجعل فيما تقضي

It is recommended to say the following supplication:

رما تقضي وتقد اللهم ٱجعل فيO Allah, at the time of taking decisions

مر ٱلمحتوممن ٱالthat are inevitable

مر ٱلحكيم في ليلة ٱلقدرما تفرق من ٱال وفي

and rendering possible things and events decisively, at the night

of Qadr,

ل وال يبد ذي ال يردٱلقضاء ٱلفي

in the decisions that are neither retreated nor altered,

من حجاج بيتك ٱلحرام تجعلنين ا

(please) write my name in the list of those pilgrims of Your

‘Sacred House’

همٱلمبرور حج

whose pilgrimage receive Your approval,

ٱلمشكور سعيهم

whose efforts are appreciated,

ٱلمغفور ذنوبهم

whose sins are forgiven,

م ئاتهر عنهم سي ٱلمكف

and whose offenses are pardoned by You.

جعل في ما تقضي وتقد رٱوDecide from among the decisions that You make,

ن تطيل عمريا

to grant me long lifetime,

…في رزقي ي لعع وتوس expand means of livelihood…

One may mention his desires after that.

Dua Specific to 21st Night of Ramadhan –

Dua واقسم لي حلما

Al-Kaf`amiy has quoted Sayyid Ibn Baqi as saying that it is

recommended to say the following supplication at the twenty-first

night of Ramadhan:

محمد وآل محمد اللهم صل على

O Allah: (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad,

واقسم لي حلما يسد عني باب الجهل،And decide for me forbearance that blocks the door to ignorance

against me,

ضاللة،وهدى تمن به علي من كل And guidance that You confer upon me against any item of

straying off,

وغنى تسد به عني باب كل فقر،And affluence that blocks the door to all poverty against me,

وقوة ترد بها عني كل ضعف،And power due to which You repel any weakness from me,

وعزا تكرمني به عن كل ذل،And might with which You honor me against all humiliation,

ورفعة ترفعني بها عن كل ضعة،And sublimity through which You exalt me against all

humbleness,

د به عني كل خوف،وأمنا ترAnd security through which You protect me against any fear,

وعافية تسترني بها عن كل بالء،And well-being by which You cover me against any ailment,

وعلما تفتح لي به كل يقين،And knowledge due to which You open before me all certitude,

ويقينا تذهب به عني كل شك،And certitude due to which You remove from me any dubiosity,

ودعاء تبسط لي به اإلجابة في هذه الليلة وفي هذه

الساعة،And prayer through which You expand Your response to me at

this very night and at this very hour,

الساعة الساعة الساعة يا كريم،This very hour, this very hour, this very hour, O the All-generous,

وخوفا تنشر لي به كل رحمة،And apprehension due to which You spread over me all items of

mercy,

وعصمة تحول بها بيني وبين الذنوب

And shelter due to which You intervene between my sins and me,

حتى أفلح بها عند المعصومين عندك

So that I shall succeed in the view of the Infallible ones with You,

برحمتك ياأرحم الراحمين.Out of Your mercy, O the most Merciful of all those who show

mercy.

Dua Specific to the 21st Night of Ramadhan –

Dua يا مولج الليل في النهار

Shaykh al-Kulayniy, in ‘al-Kafi’, has narrated, with a complete

series of narrators, that the following supplication, which is also

narrated in ‘al-Muqni`ah’ and ‘al-Misbah’ yet with an

interruption in the series of narrators, should be said at the twenty-

first night of Ramadhan:

ج الليل في النهار،يا مول O He Who causes the night to enter into the day

ومولج النهار في الليل،And causes the day to enter into the night,

و مخرج الحي من الميت،And brings forth the living from the dead

الحي،ومخرج الميت من And brings forth the dead from the living,

يا رازق من يشاء بغير حساب،

And He Who gives sustenance to whomever He please without

measure:

يا الله يا رحمان،O Allah; O the All-beneficent;

يا الله يا رحيم،O Allah; O the All-merciful;

يا الله يا الله يا الله O Allah; O Allah; O Allah;

لك األسماء الحسنى،To You are the Most Excellent Names,

واألمثال العليا،And the most elevated examples,

والكبرياء واآلالء،And greatness and bounties.

ألك أن تصلي على محمد وآل محمد،أس I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad,

وأن تجعل اسمي في هذه الليلة في السعداء،And to include my name with the list of the happiest ones,

اء،وروحي مع الشهد And to add my soul to the martyrs,

وإحساني في عليين،And record my good deeds in the most exalted rank

وإساءتي مغفورة،And to decide my offense to be forgiven,

وأن تهب لي يقينا تباشر به قلبي،And to grant me certitude that fills in my heart

وإيمانا يذهب الشك عني،And faith that removes dubiosity from me

وترضيني بما قسمت لي،And to make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me

وآتنا في الدنيا حسنة،And (please) grant us reward in this world

وفي اآلخرة حسنة،And reward in the Hereafter,

وقنا عذاب النار الحريق،And save us from the torment of the buring Fire,

وارزقني فيها ذكرك وشكرك والرغبة إليك،And (also) confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking

You, and desiring for You,

نابة والتوفيق لما وفقت له محمدا وآل محمد عليه واإل

وعليهم السالم.And turning to You, and success to that to which You led

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon

him and them.

Ziyarah Ameenullah

رضه مين ٱلله في االسالم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O trustee of Allah on His lands

وحجته على عباده

and argument of Allah against His servants.

مير ٱلمؤمنينعليك يا االسالم

Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful.

نك جاهدت في ٱلله حق جهاده شهد اا

I bear witness that you strove for the sake of Allah as it ought to

be striven,

وعملت بكتابه

acted upon His Book,

وٱتبعت سنن نبي ه

and followed the instructions of His Prophet,

صلى ٱلله عليه وآله

peace of Allah be upon him and his Household,

ٱلله إلى جواره حتى دعاك

until Allah called you to be in His vicinity.

ك إليه بٱختياره فقبض

So, He grasped you to Him by His will

عدائك ٱلحجة لزم اوا

and put your enemies under the claim

مع ما لك من ٱلحجج ٱلبالغة على جميع خلقه

although you have inclusive claims against all of His creatures.

اللهم فٱجعل نفسي مطمئنة بقدرك

O Allah, (please do) cause my soul to be fully tranquil with Your

decrees,

راضية بقضائك

satisfied with Your acts,

مولعة بذكرك ودعائك

fond of mentioning and praying to You,

وليائك ا محبة لصفوة

bearing love for the choicest of Your intimate servants,

رضك وسمائك محبوبة في ا

beloved in Your lands and heavens,

صابرة على نزول بالئك

steadfast against the affliction of Your tribulations,

شاكرة لفواضل نعمائك

thankful for Your graceful bounties,

ذاكرة لسوابغ آالئك

always bearing in mind Your incessant gifts,

مشتاقة إلى فرحة لقائك

longing for the gladness of meeting You,

ليوم جزائك تقوىمتزو دة ٱل

supplied with piety for the day of Your rewarding,

وليائك ا مستنة بسنن

pursuing the morals of Your intimate servants,

عدائك خالق امفارقة ال

quitting the conducts of Your enemies,

نيا بحمدك وثنائك مشغولة عن ٱلد

and distracted from this world by praising and thanking You.

The Imam (‘a) then put his cheek on the tomb and said:

اللهم إن قلوب المخبتين إليك والهة

O Allah, the hearts of those humbling themselves to You are

fascinated,

وسبل ٱلراغبين إليك شارعة

the paths of those desiring for You are open,

عالم ٱلقاصدين إليك واضحة وا

the sings of those directing to You are evident,

فئدة ٱلعارفين منك فازعة وا

the hearts of those having recognition of You are resorting to You,

صوات ٱلداعين إليك صاعدة وا

the voices of those beseeching You are mounting up to You,

بواب ٱإلجابة لهم مفتحة وا

the doors of responding to them are wide open,

ودعوة من ناجاك مستجابة

the prayer of him who speaks to You confidentially is responded,

ناب إليك مقبولة وتوبة من ا

the repentance of him who turns to You modestly is admitted,

ة وعبرة من بكى من خوفك مرحوم

the tear of him who weeps on account of fear from You is

compassionated,

بك موجودة ٱستغاث لمن وٱإلغاثه

the aid of him who seeks Your aid is available,

وٱإلعانة لمن ٱستعان بك مبذولة

the help of him who seeks Your help is obtainable,

وعداتك لعبادك منجزة

Your promises to Your servants are fulfilled,

وزلل من ٱستقالك مقالة

the slips of him who implore You to excuse him are forgivable,

عمال ٱلعاملين لديك محفوظةوا

the deeds of those who act for You are preserved,

رزاقك إلى ٱلخالئق من لدنك نازلة وا

Your sustenance to the creatures are descending from You,

وعوائد ٱلمزيد إليهم واصلة

Your gifts for further conferrals are reaching them,

وذنوب ٱلمستغفرين مغفورة

the sins of those imploring Your forgiveness are forgiven,

وحوائج خلقك عندك مقضية

the requests of Your creatures are granted by You,

وجوائز ٱلسائلين عندك موفرة

the prizes of those begging You are offered,

وعوائد ٱلمزيد متواترة

Your gifts for further conferrals are uninterrupted,

وموٱئد ٱلمستطعمين معدة

the dining tables for those seeking Your feeding are prepared,

ة ٱلظ ماء مترع ومناهل

and the springs of quenching their thirst are brimful.

اللهم فٱستجب دعائي

O Allah, (so) respond to my prayer,

وٱقبل ثنائي

accept my thanksgiving for You,

وليائيوٱجمع بيني وبين ا

and join me to my masters,

مد وعليبحق مح

[I beseech You] in the name of Muhammad, `Ali,

وفاطمة وٱلحسن وٱلحسين

Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn.

إنك ولي نعمائي

You are verily the only source of my boons,

ومنتهى مناي

the ultimate goal of my wishes,

وغاية رجائي في منقلبي ومثواي and the target of my hope in my recourses and settlement.

In the book of Kamil al-Ziyarat, the following statements are

added to this form of Ziyarah:

نت إلهي وسي دي وموالي ا

You are verily my God, Master, and Lord.

وليائناٱغفر ال

(Please) forgive our friend,

عدائناوكف عنا ا

prevent our enemies against us,

ذاناشغلهم عن اوا

distract them from harming us,

لحق ٱظهر كلمة وا

give prevalence to the Word of Truth

لعلياٱجعلها ٱو

and make it the supreme,

لباطل ٱدحض كلمة وا

and frustrate the word of falsehood

لسفلى ٱجعلها ٱو

and make it the lowliest.

إنك على كل شىء قدير

Dua to be Recited After Fajr Salah on the 21st of Ramadhan

،صاراألبو لوبالق بل قم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You, the Transformer of hearts and sights

لقالخ قخال إال أنت ال إله

There is no god save You, the Creator of the creatures,

،ميهإل فيك ة ال حاجب While You do not need them.

لق الخ ئبدم إال أنت ال إله

There is no god save You, the Originator of the creation.

،يءش كلكم نم ص نقال يو And nothing of creation decreases any of Your Kingdom.

،بورفي الق ن م ثباع إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You, the Resurrector of those who are in

graves.

،موراأل رب دم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You, the Manager of all affairs.

.ة ربابالج ارب جو انيد إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You, the Master and the most Omnipotent of

all those who claim omnipotence.

،اءمالص ة رخفي الص اء الم يجرم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You. It is You Who causes water to flow in

hard rocks.

،باتفي الن الماء يجرم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You. It is You Who causes water to flow in

plants.

،مارالث م عط نكو م إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You, the Maker of the flavors of fruits.

،حابالس هلمحما ت و رطالق دد ع ي صحم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You. It is You Who keeps count of the

number of the drops of rain and what is loaded by the clouds.

،واء هفي ال ياحالر هري بجما ت دد ع ي صحم إال أنت ال إله There is no god save You. It is You Who keeps count of the

number of what the wind carry in the air.

،سيابو بط ن رم حاري البما ف ي صحم إال أنت ال إله

There is no god save You. It is You Who keeps count of what is

there in oceans—the wet and the dry.

في و حارالب مات لفي ظ ب دما ي ي صحم إال أنت ال إله

رى.الث باقأط There is no god save You. It is You Who keeps count of whatever

creeps in the darknesses of oceans and in the layers of the earth.

،كسفن هب تي مذي سال كم اسب كلأأس I beseech You by Your Name that You have used for Yourself

،كدنع بي غال مللى عع ه ب ترأثتاس أو Or You have stored for Yourself in the hidden knowledge of You.

،كق لخ ن م دأح هب اكم س ماس ل كب كلأسأو And I beseech You by every name that is ascribed to You by any of

Your created beings:

،كتكالئ م ن م د أح أو هيدش أو يقد ص أو يب ن نم Such as the Prophets, the veracious ones, the martyrs, or any of

Your angels.

،ت بجأ هب عيتذي إذا د ال كم اسب كلأسأو And I beseech You by Your Name that You answer anyone who

beseeches You by it,

.تيطعأ هب تلئإذا س و And You respond to anyone who asks You by it.

م هيلع كواتلص ه تيب لهأو د م حلى مع كق حب كلأسأو

،ككاتربو And I beseech You in the name of the duty that is incumbent upon

Muhammad and his Household—Your blessings and benedictions

be upon them—toward You,

،كسفلى ن ع ه تبجوذي أال مهق حبو And by the duty that You have made incumbent upon Yourself

toward them,

،كلض ف هب مهتلنأو And through which You granted them Your favors,

كسولرو كدب ع د محلى مع يل صت أن

(please) bless Muhammad, Your servant and Your Messenger:

كنإذب كي ي إلاعالد

The caller to You by Your permission,

،كباد ع ني ب عاطالس ك راجسو And Your incandescent lantern from among Your servants

،كمائس و كضفي أر In Your lands and Your heavens,

،مينعاللل ةمحر هتلعجو And he whom You made mercy for the peoples,

،وننمؤالم هب ضاء تسإ نورا And light through whom the believers have obtained their light;

،كوابث زيل جنا برشبف He this conveyed to us the good tidings about Your abundant

reward

.ك ذابع نم نا األليم رذأنو And also warned us against Your painful chastisement.

قدصو ق حال د نع ن م ق حال ب د جاءق هأن دهأش

،لينسرمال I bear witness that he carried to us the truth from the True God,

and he verified the Messengers.

.األليم ذابقو العذائ بوهذك ذينال أن دهأشو And I bear witness that those who belied him shall certainly taste

the painful chastisement.

،لليا ا لل يا ا يا الل كألأس I beseech You, O Allah; O Allah; O Allah;

،اه بيا ر اه بيا ر اهبيا ر O our God; O our God; O our God;

دي،ي دي يا سي دي يا س ي يا س O my Master; O my Master; O my Master;

،اليويا م اليو يا م اليويا م O my Lord; O my Lord; O my Lord.

د محم آلو دمحلى م ع يلص ت أن داة الغ هذ في ه كألأس

I beseech You in this early morning to bless Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad,

،صيبان ليكسائو كباد ع رفأو نني م لعجت أنو And to include me with Your servants and beseechers upon whom

You confer the most abundant of Your rewards,

،ارالن نتي مبقر كاكفب ي لع ن مت أنو And to confer upon me with releasing me from Hellfire,

.ميناحالر م حا أري

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

ظيمع نم كألأس م ما لو كتلأما س ميعجب كألأسو

،كاللج And I beseech You to settle for me all that which I asked from You

and also all that which I did not ask from You; that which belongs

to Your splendid majesty,

،هب كتألسل هتملو عا لم That which I would ask from You if I knew it,

،هتيب ل أهو د محلى مع يل صت أن (and I beseech You to) send blessings upon Muhammad and his

Household,

نم كيائفأصو ك يائلأو جرف هج رفب نم جر فل نأذ ت أنو

،كقلخ And to permit the Relief of him whose relief achieves the relief of

Your intimate servants and Your select ones from among Your

created beings,

،م هكلهت و مينال الظ بيد ت هبو And through whom You will terminate and eradicate the

oppressors.

،مينالعال بيا ر كل ذ لج ع (Please) hasten that, O the Lord of the worlds.

رام كاإلو الل لي يا ذا الجؤني سطأعو

And (please) grant me my requests, O the Lord of majesty and

honor,

.ة رخاآل ل آجيا و نالد ل عاجل كتألما س ميعفي ج As regarding all that which I have asked You from my needs for

this worldly life and the Hereafter.

،يدرالو لب ح نم ي إل برأق وه نيا م O He Who is nearer to me than my life-vein:

تير ثني علأق

(Please) overlook my slips,

جي،وائح ضاء قني بلأقو And revive me through settling my needs.

ثي،يا باعقي ويا رازقي واليا خ O my Creator; O the Source of my sustenance; O my Resurrector;

،ميم ر يه ظامي ويي عح يا مو

O He Who shall give life to my bones when they are rotten:

د محم آل و دم حلى مع ل ص

(Please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

.ميناحالر مح عائي يا أرلي د ب جتسإو And respond to my prayer; O the most Merciful of all those who

show mercy.

Ziyarah of Imam Ali on the 21st Day of Ramadhan

This is the day on which Imam `Ali Amir al-Mu'minin (a.s)

departed life as martyr. It is thus appropriate to visit his holy

tomb. In my book of ‘Hadiyyat al-Za’ir’, I have referred to the

words said by al-Khadhir on this day. These words can be

considered a form of visiting Imam `Ali (a.s) on this day.

These words, quoted from al-Kafi 1:454, are as follows

ن سحا البا أي الل كمحر

May Allah have mercy upon you, O Abu’l-Hasan.

اناإيم مهصل خأ و ماالإس موقال لوأ تنك

You were the first of all in accepting Islam and the most sincere of

all in faith,

لل مهفوخأو يناقي م هدأشو

And you were the firmest in conviction and the most Allah-

fearing,

ه يل ع ى الللص الل ولسى رل ع م هطوحأو ناء ع مهمظعأو

ه آلو

And you were the most steadfast (against ordeals for the sake of

Islam) and the most watchful for Allah’s Messenger—peace be

upon him and his Household,

باقن م مهل ضفأو هابحى أصل ع مهن آمو

And you were the most careful for his companions and you were

endowed with the most favorable merits,

ة جرد مهعفرأو قابوس مهمركأو

And you were the foremost of everyone else in everything, and the

owner of the most elevated rank,

ه آلو ه يلع ى الللص الل ولسر نم مهبرقأو

And you were the closest of them to Allah’s Messenger—peace be

upon him and his Household,

ال عفو تامس و قالخو ياده هب م ههبشأو

And you were the most similar to him in guidance, morals,

manners, and deeds,

هيل ع مهمركأو ةل زنم مهفرشأو

And you were the owner of the most honorable position, and the

most respected (by Almighty Allah and His Messenger).

ينملسمال ن عو هولسر نع و م الس اإل نع الل اكزجف

.رايخ May Allah reward you on behalf of Islam, the His Messenger, and

the Muslims with the best rewarding.

ه ابحأص فعض ين حيت وق

You became stronger when his companions became weak,

واانك تاس ين ح تزربو

And you advanced when they surrendered,

وانهو ينح تضهنو

And you stood up (to face difficulties) when they became showed

weak-heartedness,

مه إذ هآلو هيلع ى الل لص الل ولسر اج هن م تمزلو

ه ابحصأ

And you abode by the course of Allah’s Messenger—peace be upon

him and his Household—as they were his companions,

اقح ه تيف لخ تنكو

And you were truly his vicegerent.

ع رضت ملو عازن ت مل

No one could ever compete with you or vie with you in this

position

ينراف الك ظي غو ينقافنمال مغرب

In spite of the existence of hypocrites and the despise of the

unbelievers,

ين.قاس الف رغصو يند الحاس هركو And the malice of the enviers and the disgrace of the wicked ones.

والشف ينح رماألب تمقف

You thus managed the matters when they failed to do so

واعتعتت ين ح تقطنو

And you spoke (the truth) when they stammered,

وافقو إذ الل ورنب ت يضمو

And you carried on with the light of Allah when they stopped.

وادهف وكعباتف

As they followed you, they were guided (to the true path),

وتانق مالهأعو تاوص مه ضفأخ تنكو

You voice was the lowest (out of politeness) and was the highest in

supplication,

قاطن مهبوصأو الماك مهلقأو

And you were the least in speaking and the you were the most

eloquent of them,

بالق مهعجشأو ياأر مهربأكو

And you were the most apposite in opinions and the most

courageous,

.ورماألب مهفرعأو الم ع م هنسحأو يناقي م هدشأو And you were the firmest in conviction, the best of them in deeds,

and the most learned in questions.

:راآخو الو أ ينلد ل وباسعي اللو تنك By Allah (I swear), you were the true leader of the religion first

and last:

والشف ينح راآلخو اسالن قرف ت ينح لوألا

You were thus the first (of the enduring ones) when the other

people departed, and you were the last (in steadfastness) when

they failed.

اال يع ك يلوا عارص إذ يماحر أبا يننمؤملل تنك

For the believers, you were merciful father, as they were your

dependants;

وافعض هنا ع م القثأ تلمحف

So, you carried the burdens that they were too weak to carry,

والمها أم تيعروا واعض ا أم تظفحو

And you preserved that which they forfeited, and you conserved

that which they neglected,

واعله إذ تولعوا وعمتاج إذ ترمشو

And you prepared yourself for facing those who allied (against

Islam) and you advanced when they were dismayed,

وابلا طم ارتوأ تكردأوا وعرس أ إذ تربصو

And you resisted when they hurried (in absconding) and you

achieved the goals for which they fought,

وابستح ي ما ل م كوا بالنو

And they tasted at your hands that which they had not expected.

باهنو ابص اباذع ينرافكى ال لع تنك

You were thus incessant and relentless torment on the unbelievers

ناص حو دام ع يننمؤمللو

And you were support and shelter for the believers.

هاائبحب تزفا وهائمعن ب والل ترطف

Thus, I swear by Allah that you won its bliss and gained its

reward,

اهلائضف ب تبه ذا و هغاب وس تزرحأو

And you attained its merits and prevailed on its worth.

ك بل ق غزي ملو كت جح للفت مل

Your argument was never weak and your heart never deviated,

ن خت ملو كسفن نب جت ملو كتيرص ب ف عضت ملو

And your sagacity was never feeble, and your determination never

cowered, and you never betrayed.

فاصوالع هكر حال ت لبالج ك تنك

You were as firm as mountain, as storms could never displace you,

.كدي اتذو ك تبح ي صف اس الن نمأ: الا ق مك تنكو And you were as exactly as what was said about you: People felt

secure under your government and in what was entrusted with

you.

الل رم أي ف ايوق كند ي بف يفاع: ضالا ق مك تنكو

You were also as exactly as what was said about you: modest in

your body and strong in carrying out the orders of Allah,

الل دنع يماظع كسف ي نف عااضوتم

Humble in yourself and enjoying a great standing with Allah,

ين نمؤمال د ن ع يال لج ضرفي األ يرابك

Great in the earth and lofty in the view of the believers.

زمغ م يكف لائقال لو زمهم يكف د حأل ن كي مل

None could ever find fault with you, and none could ever speak

evil of you,

.ةاد وه ك دنع دح ال ألو عمطم يك ف دح ال ألو And you never desired for anyone, And you were never lenient

(unfairly) to anyone.

ه ق حب ه ل ذأخى تت ح يززع يوق ك دنع يلل الذ يفعالض

The weak, humble one was strong and mighty in your view until

you give him back his right,

ق حال هنم ذأخى تت ح يللذ يف عض كدنع يززالع يوقالو

And the strong, mighty one was weak in your view until you take

the others’ rights from him.

.اءوس كلي ذف ك دنع يدع بالو يبرقالو The near and the remote were equal in your view.

قفالر و ق دالص و قحال كنأش

You habit was to be right, honest, and kind,

م تحو م كح كلوقو

And your words were ruling and determination,

م زحو ملح كرمأو

And your custom was forbearance and fortitude,

تلعا فم يف مزع و ملع كيأرو

And your view was knowledge and firmness in whatever you did.

يرسعالبك له سو يلبالسبك ج هن دقو

Through you, the right path was taken and the difficult was made

easy,

م الساإل كب يوقو ين الد ك ب لدت اعو انيرالن تئفطأو

والمؤمنون

Fires were also extinguished by you and the religion became even

at your hands, and Islam and the believers because mighty

because of you,

يداد ش باعت كدعب نم ت بعأتو يداعب قابس تقبسو

You thus advanced in great strides and stopped and curbed the

wrongdoings of those who came after you.

اء مي الس ف كتيزر تمظعو اءكب ال نع تللجف

You are thus too lofty to be mourned and the calamity (of losing

you) was so astounding for the inhabitants of the heavens,

نام األ كت يبص م ت دهو

And this calamity undermined all people.

ون عاجر يها إلإنو ا للإنف

Surely, we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return.

ه ر أم نا للملوس هئاضق الل ن ا عينضر

We succumb to Allah’s acts and to His matters do we submit.

.داك أبلثمب مونلسالم ب صي مل واللف By Allah I swear, the calamity of losing you is the ever most

catastrophic for the Muslims.

يااس ر ةنقو ناصحو فاهك يننؤململ تنك

You were haven, shelter, and unshakable fortress of the believers.

ظايغ و ةظلغ رينافلى الكعو

And you were, at the same time, rude and furious on the

unbelievers.

.ك دعنا بلض وال أ كرنا أجمرح ال و هي بن ب الل كقحألف May Allah join you to His Prophet and may He never deprive us of

the reward of our grief for you, and may He never mislead us after

you.

Specific Amaal for the 23rd Night of Ramadhan

Recite Surahs of al-`Ankabut (No. 29) and al-Rum (No. 30).

Imam al-Sadiq (a.s) is reported to have said, “Anyone who

recites these two Surahs at this night will be included with the

people of Paradise.”

Recite Surah of al-Dukhan (No. 44).

It is recommended to repeat Surah of al-Qadr once Thousand

times.

Dua Allahumma Kunli Walliyik

It is highly advisable to repeat the following famous supplication

as many times as possible at this night:

اللهم كن لوليك الحجة ابن الحسنO Allah: (please) be for Your representative, al-Hujjah, son of al-

Hasan—

صلواتك عليه وعلى آبائه

Your blessings be on him and on his forefathers

في هذه الساعة وفي كل ساعةnow and at all times

وليا وحافظا

(please, be his) friend and guardian

وقائدا وناصرا

And leader and helper

ودليال وعينا

And guide and watcher

حتى تسكنه أرضك طوعا

So that You shall allow him to prevail on Your lands willingly

وتمتعه فيها طويال.And You shall make him enjoy it for a long time.

Supplications Specific to the 23rd Night of Ramadhan


اللهم امدد لي في عمري،O Allah: (please do) prolong my lifetime,

وأوسع لي في رزقي،And expand my sustenance,

وأصح لي جسمي،And make my body healthy,

وبلغني أملي،And make me attain my hopes,

وإن كنت من األشقياء فامحني من األشقياء

And if I am written with the unhappy ones, (please) erase my

name from this list,

واكتبني من السعداء،And write it with the happy ones,

فإنك قلت في كتابك المنزل على نبيك المرسل

صلواتك عليه وآله:For You have said in Your Book that You revealed to Your

missioned Prophet, Your peace be upon him and his Household:

(ت وعنده أم الكتابيمحو الله مايشاء ويثب)“Allah makes to pass away and establishes what He pleases, and

with Him is the basis of the Book.”


اللهم اجعل فيما تقضي وفيما تقدر

O Allah: (please), among the matters that You decide and make,

من األمر المحتوم

From among the inevitable affairs,

وفيما تفرق من األمر الحكيم

And from among the wise matters that You make distinct,

في ليلة القدر

At the Grand Night

القضاء الذي ال يرد وال يبدل من

From among the act that is neither rejected nor altered,

أن تكتبني من حجاج بيتك الحرام

That You decide me to be with the pilgrims to Your Holy House,

في عامي هذا

At this year,

هم،المبرور حجThose whose pilgrimage is admitted,

المشكور سعيهم،Whose efforts are praised,

المغفور ذنوبهم،Whose sins are forgiven,

المكفر عنهم سيئاتهم،And whose offenses and pardoned.

واجعل فيما تقضي وتقدر

And (please), among the matters that You decide and make,

أن تطيل عمري،Decide to prolong my lifetime,

وتوسع لي في رزقي.And to expand my sustenance.

It is recommended to say the following supplication that is

mentioned in the book of ‘Iqbal al-A`maal’:

يا باطنا في ظهوره،O He Who is intrinsic though He is evident,

ويا ظاهرا في بطونه،And He Who is evident though He is intrinsic;

ويا باطنا ليس يخفى،O He Who is intrinsic that is not missed

س يرى،ويا ظاهرا لي And He Who is evident but He cannot be seen;

يا موصوفا ال يبلغ بكينونته موصوف وال حد محدود،O He Who is described, but neither any other described thing nor

can any boundary attain His Being;

ود،ويا غائبا غير مفقO He Who is absent but not lost,

ويا شاهدا غير مشهود،And He Who is present but not witnessed.

يطلب فيصاب،When He is sought, He shall be obtained,

ولم يخل منه السماوات واألرض وما بينهما طرفة عين،And neither the heavens, nor the earth nor can anything that is

between them be empty of Him.

يدرك بكيف، الHe cannot be realized by asking ‘How is He?’

وال يؤين بأين وال بحيث،And His place cannot be identified by asking, ‘Where is He?’ or

‘What is His place?’

أنت نور النور ورب األرباب،You are verily the light of all lights and the Lord of all lords.

أحطت بجميع األمور،You have comprehended all things.

سبحان من ليس كمثله شيء

Glory be to Him Whose like is nonexistent,

وهو السميع البصير!And He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.

سبحان من هو هكذا وال هكذا غيره!Glory be to Him Who is in this state and nothing else can be ever

in his state.

Then, one may pray for settling his needs.

Recite the following supplication on the 23rd Night of

Ramadhan:

رب ليلة القدر يا

O the Lord of the Grand Night

وجاعلها خيرا من ألف شهر،And He Who decided it to be better than one thousand months;

والنهارورب الليل

And the Lord of night and day

والجبال والبحار

And the Lord of mountains and oceans,

والظلم واألنوار

And the Lord of darkness and light,

واألرض والسماء،And the earth and the heavens.

يا بارئ يا مصورO the Maker, O the Fashioner,

يا حنان يا منان،O the All-tender, O the All-favorer

يا الله يا رحمانO Allah, O the All-beneficent,

يا الله يا قيوم O Allah, O the Self-Subsisting,

يا الله يا بديع،O Allah, O the wonderful Originator,

يا الله يا الله يا الله O Allah; O Allah; O Allah;

لك األسماء الحسنى،To You are the Most Excellent Names,

واألمثال العليا،And the most elevated examples,

والكبرياء واآلالء،And greatness and bounties.

تصلي على محمد وآل محمد،أسألك أن I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad,

وأن تجعل اسمي في هذه الليلة في السعداء،And to include my name with the list of the happiest ones,

وروحي مع الشهداء،And to add my soul to the martyrs,

وإحساني في عليين،And record my good deeds in the most exalted rank

وإساءتي مغفورة،And to decide my offense to be forgiven,

وأن تهب لي يقينا تباشر به قلبي،And to grant me certitude that fills in my heart

وإيمانا يذهب الشك عني،And faith that removes dubiosity from me

وترضيني بما قسمت لي،And to make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me

وآتنا في الدنيا حسنة،And (please) grant us reward in this world

وفي اآلخرة حسنة،And reward in the Hereafter,

وقنا عذاب النار الحريق،And save us from the torment of the buring Fire,

وارزقني فيها ذكرك وشكرك والرغبة إليك،And (also) confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking

You, and desiring for You,

نابة والتوفيق لما وفقت له محمدا وآل محمد عليه واإل

وعليهم السالم.And turning to You, and success to that to which You led

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon

him and them.

Muhammad ibn `Isa, through his series of narrators, has

reported the Holy Infallibles (a.s) as saying, “You may

repeat the following supplication at the twenty-third night of

Ramadhan in all states—standing, sitting, prostrating... etc.

It is furthermore preferable if you repeat it all over the

month of Ramadhan whenever you have an opportunity

and also all over your lifetime. You may begin with

statements of glorifying Almighty Allah and praying for

sending blessings upon the Holy Prophet and then say:

اللهم كن لوليك الحجة ابن الحسن

O Allah: (please) be for Your representative, al-Hujjah, son of al-

Hasan—

صلواتك عليه وعلى آبائه

Your blessings be on him and on his forefathers

وفي كل ساعة في هذه الساعة

now and at all times

وليا وحافظا

(please, be his) friend and guardian

وقائدا وناصرا

And leader and helper

ودليال وعينا

And guide and watcher

حتى تسكنه أرضك طوعا

So that You shall allow him to prevail on Your lands willingly

وتمتعه فيها طويال.And You shall make him enjoy it for a long time.

It is also recommended to say the following supplication:

يا مدبر األمور،O the Director of all affairs;

يا باعث من في القبور،O the Resurrector of all those in graves;

يا مجري البحور،O He Who causes oceans to flow;

يا ملين الحديد لداود

O He Who made the iron pliant for (Prophet) David;

…صل على محمد وآل محمد (Please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad…

You may here mention your needs, and then continue:

.الليلة الليلة

This very night; this very night.

You may raise both your hands while saying this supplication.

It is also recommended to repeat this supplication in all states—

sitting, standing, prostrating... etc. at this night as well as the last night

of Ramadhan.

Common Duas to be Recited on the Last 10 Nights of the

Month of Ramadhan

In ‘al-Kafi’, Shaykh al-Kulayniy has reported Imam Ja`far al-

Sadiq (a.s) as saying: At the last ten nights of Ramadhan, you may

say the following invocation:

أعوذ بجالل وجهك الكريم

I seek the protection of the Majesty of Your Honorable Face

أن ينقضي عني شهر رمضان

against that the month of Ramadhan elapses

أو يطلع الفجر من ليلتي هذه

Or dawn puts an end to this night

ولك قبلي تبعة أو ذنب تعذبني عليه.but there is still an offense or a sin for which I am still liable and

for which You will punish me.

As a footnote in ‘al-Balad al-Amin’, al-Kaf`amiy has mentioned

that Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (a.s) used to say the following at each

of the last ten nights of Ramadhan after the obligatory and

supererogatory prayers:

،اللهم أد عنا حق ما مضى من شهر رمضان

O Allah: (please) help us fulfill the right of the past days of the

month of Ramadhan,

واغفر لنا تقصيرنا فيه

And forgive us our shortcoming during it,

وتسلمه منا مقبوال،And receive it from us with acceptance,

بإسرافنا على أنفسنا، وال تؤاخذناAnd do not blame us for our extravegence in our affairs,

واجعلنا من المرحومين

And include us with those upon whom mercy is had,

وال تجعلنا من المحرومين.And do not include us with those deprived (of the awards of

Ramadhan).

He adds that Almighty Allah will forgive him who says this

supplication all the sins that he has committed in the past days of

Ramadhan and will protect him against sinning in the rest of it.

In ‘Iqbal al-A`mal’ Sayyid Ibn Tawus has narrated on the

authority of Ibn Abi-`Umayr on the authority of Murazim

that Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (a.s) used to say the following

at each of the last ten nights of Ramadhan:

اللهم إنك قلت في كتابك المنزل:O Allah: You have said in Your revealed Book:

شهر رمضان الذي أنزل فيه القرآن )

“The month of Ramadhan is that in which the Qur'an was

revealed,

(هدى للناس وبينات من الهدى والفرقان a guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the

distinction.”

فعظمت حرمة شهر رمضان You have thus rendered great the sanctity of this month of

Ramadhan,

بما أنزلت فيه من القرآن Because You revealed the Qur'an in it,

وخصصته بليلة القدر

And You decided the Grand Night to be in this month exclusively,

وجعلتها خيرا من ألف شهر.

And You made it better than one thousand months.

اللهم وهذه أيام شهر رمضان قد انقضت،O Allah: the days of the month of Ramadhan are elapsing,

قد تصرمت،ولياليهAnd its nights are also elapsing,

وقد صرت يا إلهي منه إلى ما أنت أعلم به مني

While I have become in the state that You, O my God, know better

than I do,

وأحصى لعدده من الخلق أجمعين،And You can count it more precisely than all the created beings.

فأسألك بما سألك به مالئكتك المقربون،So, I beseech You in the name of that by which Your favorite

angels,

وأنبياؤك المرسلون،And Your missioned Prophets,

الصالحون وعبادك

And Your righteous servants have besought You,

أن تصلي على محمد وآل محمد That You may bless Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad,

وأن تفك رقبتي من النار،And You may release me from Hellfire,

الجنة برحمتك،وتدخلني And allow me to enter Paradise, by Your mercy,

وأن تتفضل علي بعفوك وكرمك،And confer upon me with Your pardon and Your generosity,

وتتقبل تقربي،And accept my seeking of nearness to You,

عائي،وتستجيب د And respond to my prayer,

وتمن علي باألمن يوم الخوف

And bestow upon me with security on the Day of Dread

من كل هول أعددته ليوم القيامة.

Against all the horrors that You have prepared for the

Resurrection Day.

لهي وأعوذ بوجهك الكريم،إ O my God: I seek the protection of Your Noble Face,

وبجاللك العظيم

And Your Great Majesty,

أن تنقضي أيام شهر رمضان ولياليه Against that the days and nights of the month of Ramadhan

elapse,

ولك قبلي تبعة أو ذنب تؤاخذني به،While there is still a sin or an offense for which You may punish

me,

أو خطيئة تريد أن تقتصها مني لم تغفرها لي،Or a wrongdoing for which You want to chastise me; and You have

not yet forgiven them for me,

سيدي سيدي سيدي،O my Master; O my Master; O my Master;

أسألك يا ال إله إال أنت

I beseech You, O He save Whom there is no god,

إذ ال إله إال أنتIndeed, there is no god save You,

نت رضيت عني في هذا الشهرإن ك

If You have been pleased with me in this month,

فازدد عني رضى،Then (please) increase Your satisfaction with me;

وإن لم تكن رضيت عني

And if You have not been pleased with me,

عنيفمن اآلن فارض

Then (please) be satisfied with me from this moment,

يا أرحم الراحمين،O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

يا الله يا أحد يا صمد O Allah; O the One and Only; O the Besought of all;

يا من لم يلد ولم يولد O He Who begets not, nor is He begotten,

ولم يكن له كفوا أحد.And none is like Him

You may repeat the following invocation as many times as possible:

يا ملين الحديد لداود عليه السالم،O He Who made the iron pliant for (Prophet) David, peace be

upon him;

يا كاشف الضر والكرب العظام عن أيوب عليه السالم،O He Who took off the harm and calamity that afflict (Prophet)

Job, peace be upon him;

أي مفرج هم يعقوب عليه السالم،O He Who relieved the sorrow of (Prophet) Jacob, peace be upon

him;

أي منفس غم يوسف عليه السالم،O He Who removed the grief of (Prophet) Joseph, peace be upon

him:

صل على محمد وآل محمد

(Please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household

of Muhammad,

كما أنت أهله أن تصلي عليهم أجمعين،As exactly as You are worthy of blessing them all,

وافعل بي ما أنت أهله،And (please) do to me that which befits You,

وال تفعل بي ما أنا أهله.And do not do to me that which I deserve.

Dua Jawshan Kabir

الرحيم الرحمن الله بسم

In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

الله يا باسمك أسألك يإن اللهم( 1)

(1) O Allah, verily I beseech You in Your name: O Allah,

رحيم يا رحمن يا

O Most Merciful, O Most Compassionate,

مقيم يا كريم يا

O Most Generous, O Self-Subsisting,

قديم يا عظيم يا

O Greatest, O Eternal,

حكيم يا حليم يا عليم يا

O All-Knowing, O Forbearing, O Wise.

سبحانك يا ال إله إال أنت

Praise be to You, there is no god but You,

الغوث الغوث الغوث[I beseech you for] relief, relief, relief

خل صنا من النار يا رب .Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.

(2) O Master of Masters,

الدعوات مجيب يا

O Acceptor of prayers,

الدرجات رافع يا

O Elevator of rank,

الحسنات ولي يا

O Guardian of good deeds,

الخطيئات غافر يا

O Forgiver of evil deeds,

المسأالت ي معط يا

O Granter of requests,

التوبات قابل يا

O Acceptor of repentance,

األصوات سامع يا

O Hearer of voices,

الخفيات عالم يا

O Knower of attributes,

البليات دافع يا

O Repeller of calamities.





غافرين ال خير يا( 3)

(3) O Best of forgivers,

الفاتحين خير يا

O Best of deciders,

الناصرين خير يا

O Best of helpers,

الحاكمين خير يا

O Best of rulers,

الرازقين خير يا

O Best of providers,

الوارثين خير يا

O Best of inheritors

الحامدين خير يا

O Best of praisers,

الذاكرين خير يا

O Best of rememberers,

المنزلين خير يا

O Best of Dischargers,

المحسنين خير يا

O Best of benefactors.





والجمال العزة له من يا( 4)

(4) O He, to Whom is all glory and virtue,

والكمال القدرة له من يا

O He, to Whom is all might and perfection,

والجالل الملك له من يا

O He, to Whom is all dominion and sublimity,

المتعال الكبير هو من يا

O He, Who is great above all,

الث قال السحاب منشئ يا

O He, Who creates heavy clouds,

المحال شديد هو من يا

O He, Who is the most powerful,

الحساب سريع هو من يا

O He, Who is quick to reckon,

العقاب شديد هو من يا

O He, Who metes out the severest punishment,

الثواب حسن عنده من يا

O He, with Whom is the excellent reward,

الكتاب أم عنده من يا

O He, with Whom is the Original Book.





باسمك أسألك يإن اللهم ( 5)

(5) O Allah, Verily I beseech You in Your name:

منان يا حنان يا

O Charitable One, O Benefactor,

برهان يا ديان يا

O Judge, O Proof,

رضوان يا سلطان يا

O Sovereign, O Approver,

سبحان يا غفران ياO Forgiver, O Elevated One

والبيان المن ذا يا مستعان يا

O Helper, O Holder of blessings and manifestation.





ل عظمته شيء كل تواضع من يا( 6)

(6) O He before Whose greatness everything bows,

ل قدرته شيء كل استسلم من يا

O He before Whose power everything submits,

ل عزته شيء كل ذل من يا

O He before Whose might overshadows everything,

ل هيبته شيء كل خضع من يا

O He before Whose awesomeness everything is humbled,

خشيته م ن شيء كل انقاد من اي

O He before Whose fearsomeness everything yields,

مخافته من الجبال تشققت من يا

O He before Whose terribleness mountains shake,

بأمره السماوات قامت من يا

O He before Whose command the heavens are raised,

بإذنه األرضون استقرت من يا

O He through Whose permission in the earths are secured,

بحمده الرعد يسب ح من يا

O He Whose glory the thunder proclaims,

مملكته أهل على ييعتد ال من يا

O He Who is never cruel to his subjects.





الخطايا غافر يا( 7)

(7) O Forgiver of sins,

الباليا كاشف يا

O Dispeller of tribulations,

الرجايا منتهى يا

O Aim of hopes,

العطايا مجزل يا

O Giver of abundant gifts,

الهدايا واهب يا

O Bestower of bounties,

البرايا رازق يا

O Provider of creatures,

المنايا يقاض يا

O Judge of destinies,

الشكايا سامع يا

O Hearer of complaints,

البرايا باعث يا

O Resurrector of creatures,

األسارى مطلق يا

O Freer of captives.

له إال أنت سبحانك يا ال إ




والثناء الحمد ذا يا( 8)

(8) O He, to Whom is due all praise and adoration,

والبهاء الفخر ذا يا

O He, Who holds all pride and eminence,

والسناء المجد ذا يا

O He, Who holds all honour and rank,

والوفاء العهد ذا يا

O He, Who makes promises and honours them,

والر ضاء العفو ذا يا

O He, Who pardons and is content,

والعطاء المن ذا يا

O He, Who holds all abundance and provides,

والقضاء الفصل ذا يا

O He, Who holds decision and judgement,

والبقاء العز ذا يا

O He, Who is glorious and eternal,

والسخاء الجود ذا يا

O He, Who is liberal and munificent,

والنعماء اآلالء ذا يا

O He, Who holds all blessings and bounties,





باسمك أسألك يإن اللهم( 9)

(9) O Allah, verily I beseech You in Your name:

دافع يا مانع يا

O Preventer of misfortune, O Repeller of calamities.

صانع يا رافع يا

O Elevator of rank, O Fashioner,

سامع يا نافع يا

O Benefiter O Hearer,

شافع يا جامع يا

O Aggregator, O Intercessor,

موسع يا واسع يا

O Magnanimous, O Increaser.

أنت سبحانك يا ال إله إال




مصنوع كل صانع يا( 10)

(10) O Fashioner of every fashioned thing,

مخلوق كل خالق يا

O Creator of every created thing,

مرزوق كل رازق يا

O Provider for every needy thing,

مملوك كل مالك يا

O Sovereign over all subjects,

مكروب كل كاشف يا

O Dispeller of every hardship,

مهموم كل فارج يا

O Comforter of every griever,

مرحوم كل راحم يا

O Merciful to every sufferer,

مخذول كل ناصر يا

O Helper of everything forsaken,

معيوب كل ساتر يا

O Concealer of every blemished thing,

مطرود كل ملجأ يا

O Shelter for every exile.





يشدت عند يعدت يا( 11)

(11) O Provider in my hardship,

يمصيبت عند يرجائ يا

O Source of Hope in my misfortune,

يوحشت عند يمؤنس يا

O Companion in my isolation,

يغربت عند يصاحب يا

O Fellow Traveller in my journey,

ينعمت عند يولي يا

O Friend in my ease,

يكربت عند يغياث يا

O Rescuer from my trials,

يحيرت عند يدليل يا

O Guide in my perplexity,

يافتقار عند يغنائ يا

O Resource in my neediness,

ياضطرار عند يملجئ يا

O Shelter in my helplessness,

يمفزع عند يمعين يا

O Deliverer from my fears.





الغيوب عالم يا( 12)

(12) O Knower of the unseen,

الذنوب، غفار يا O Forgiver of sins,

العيوب ستار يا

O Concealer of defects,

الكروب كاشف يا

O Expeller of pain,

القلوب مقل ب يا

O Transformer of the hearts

القلوب طبيب يا

O Physician of the hearts,

القلوب منو ر يا

O Illuminator of the hearts,

القلوب أنيس يا

O Intimate of the hearts,

الهموم مفر ج يا

O Dispeller of anxiety,

الغموم منف س يا

O Liberator from grief.







جميل يا جليل يا

O Glorious, O Virtuous,

كفيل يا وكيل يا

O Protector, O Patron,

قبيل يا دليل يا

O Guide, O Guarantor,

منيل يا مديل يا

O Bestower of Wealth, O Bestower of blessings,

محيل يا مقيل يا

O Bestower of strength, O Acceptor of repentance.





المتحي رين دليل يا( 14)

(14) O Guide of the waylaid,

المستغيثين غياث يا

O Rescuer of those who appeal,

المستصرخين صريخ يا

O Helper of those who call,

المستجيرين جار يا

O Aider of those who call,

الخائفين أمان يا

O Shelter of the fearful,

المؤمنين عون يا

O Succourer of the faithful,

المساكين راحم يا

O Merciful to the indigent,

العاصين ملجأ يا

O Refuge for the disobedient,

المذنبين غافر يا

O Forgiver of the sinner,

المضطر ين دعوة مجيب يا

O Responder to the supplicant

(15) O Master of liberality and beneficence,

متنان واإل الفضل ذا يا

O Most gracious and obliging,

واألمان األمن ذا يا

O Master of peace and security,

والسبحان القدس ذا يا

O Most holy and above all defects,

والبيان الحكمة ذا يا

O Master of wisdom and manifestation,

والر ضوان الرحمة ذا يا

O Master of mercy and satisfaction,

والبرهان الحجة ذا يا

O Master of argument and proof,

والسلطان العظمة ذا يا

O Master of grandeur and sovereignty,

والمستعان الرأفة ذا يا

O Master of kindness and succour,

والغفران العفو ذا يا

O Master of pardon and forgiveness.





شيء كل رب هو من يا( 16)

(16) O He, Who is the Lord over all things,

شيء كل إله هو من يا

O He, Who is the Allah of all things,

شيء كل خالق هو من يا

O He, Who is the Creator of all things,

شيء كل صانع هو من يا

O He. Who is the Fashioner of all things,

شيء كل قبل هو من يا

O He, Who is the Preceder of all things,

شيء كل بعد هو من يا

O He, Who is the Successor of all things,

شيء كل فوق هو من يا

O He, Who is above all things,

شيء بكل عالم هو من يا

O He, Who knows all things,

شيء كل على قادر هو من يا

O He, Who is Powerful over all things,

شيء كل ويفنى يبقى هو من يا

O He, Who is the Sustainer and Extinguisher of all things,

O Securer of safety, O Protector,

(18) O Everlasting in His Kingdom,

O Eternal in His sovereignty,

O Greatest in His grandeur,

رحيم عباده على هو من يا

O Most Merciful to His servants,

عليم شيء بكل هو من يا

O Knower of everything,

حليم عصاه بمن هو من يا

O Forbearing to him who disobeys Him,

كريم رجاه بمن هو من يا

O Magnanimous to him who places his hope in Him,

حكيم صنعه يف هو من يا

O He Who is Wise over what He has fashioned,

لطيف حكمته يف هو من يا

O He Who is Subtle in his Wisdom,

قديم لطفه يف هو من يا

O He Who is Eternal in His Kindness.




النار يا رب . خل صنا من Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.

فضله إال يرجى ال من يا( 19)

(19) O He, from Whom no hope is entertained save by His Grace ,

عفوه إال يسأل ال من يا

O He, from Whom nothing is begged save His Pardon,

بره إال ينظر ال من يا

O He, of Whom nothing is seen save His Goodness,

عدله إال يخاف ال من يا

O He, from Whom nothing is feared save His Justice,

ملكه إال يدوم ال من يا

O He, Whose sovereignty alone of eternal,

سلطانه إال سلطان ال من يا

O He, Who alone has true majesty,

رحمته شيء كل وسعت من يا

O He, Whose blessings extend to all,

غضبه رحمته سبقت من يا

O He, Whose Wrath is surpassed by His Mercy,

علمه شيء بكل أحاط من يا

O He, Whose knowledge encompasses everything,

م ثله أحد ليس من يا

O He, Who is without equal,





الهم فارج يا( 20)

(20) O Remover of anxiety,

الغم كاشف يا

O Expeller of sorrow,

الذنب غافر يا

O Forgiver of sins,

التوب قابل يا

O Acceptor of repentance,

الخلق خالق يا

O Creator of creatures,

الوعد صادق يا

O Truthful in promises,

العهد يموف يا

O Fulfiller of promises,

الس ر عالم يا

O Knower of secrets,

الحب فالق يا

O Splitter of seed,

األنام رازق يا

O Provider for creatures.







وفي يا علي يا

O High, O Perfect

ملي يا غني يا

O Independent, O Rich,

رضي يا حفي يا

O Kind, O Agreeable

بدي يا زكي يا

O Purifier, O Eternal,

ولي يا قوي يا

O Mighty, O Friend.





الجميل أظهر من يا( 22)

(22) O He, Who reveals virtue,

القبيح ستر من يا

O He, Who conceals vice,

بالجريرة يؤاخذ لم من يا

O He Who does not call to severe account for sins,

الس تر يهتك لم من يا

O He, Who does not disclose the disgrace of his servants,

العفو عظيم يا

O He, Who is the best forgiver,

التجاوز حسن يا

O He, Who overlooks errancy,

المغفرة واسع يا

O He, Whose forgiveness extends over all.

بالر حمة اليدين باسط يا

O He, Whose Hands are stretched forth in mercy,

نجوى كل صاحب يا

O He, Who knows all secrets,

شكوى كل منتهى يا

O He, to Whom all complaints are directed.





السابغة الن عمة ذا يا( 23)

(23) O Master of countless blessings,

الواسعة الرحمة ذا يا

O Master of limitless mercy,

السابقة المنة ذا يا

O Master surpassing all obligation,

البالغة الحكمة ذا يا

O Master of perfect wisdom,

الكاملة القدرة ذا يا

O Master of infinite might,

اطعة الق الحجة ذا يا

O Master of the decisive argument,

الظاهرة الكرامة ذا يا

O Master of the manifest miracle,

الدائمة العزة ذا يا

O Master of perpetual prestige,

المتينة القوة ذا يا

O Master of great strength,

المنيعة العظمة ذا يا

O Master of unsurpassable glory





السماوات بديع يا( 24)

(24) O Originator of the heavens,

الظلمات جاعل يا

O Maker of darkness,

العبرات راحم يا

O Merciful to those who weep,

العثرات مقيل يا

O He Who oversees slips and errors,

العورات ساتر يا

O Concealer of defects,

األموات يمحي يا

O Reviver of the dead,

اآليات منزل يا

O Revealer of signs,

الحسنات مضع ف يا

O Increaser of virtue,

السي ئات يماح يا

O Who rubs out vices,

النقمات شديد يا

O He Who calls to account.







مقد ر يا مصو ر يا

O Fashioner, O Preordainer,

مطه ر يا مدب ر يا

O Planner, O Purifier,

ميس ر يا منو ر يا

O Illuminator, O Facilitator,

منذر يا مبش ر يا

O Giver of glad tidings, O Warner,

مؤخ ر يا مقد م يا

O Giver of precedence, O Postponer.





الحرام البيت رب يا( 26)

(26) O Lord of the Sanctuary,

الحرام الشهر رب يا

O Lord of the holy month,

الحرام البلد رب يا

O Lord of the Holy City,

والمقام الركن رب يا

O Lord of the Rukn and the Maqam,

الحرام المشعر رب يا

O Lord of the Mashair of Mecca,

الحرام المسجد رب يا

O Lord of the Holy Mosque in Mecca,

والحرام الحل رب يا

O Lord of what is lawful and what is proscribed,

والظالم النور رب يا

O Lord of light and darkness,

والسالم التحية رب يا

O Lord of salutation and peace,

األنام يف القدرة رب يا

O Lord of strength among creatures.





الحاكمين أحكم يا( 27)

(27) O Highest of all authorities,

العادلين أعدل يا

O Most Just of all the just,

الصادقين أصدق يا

O Most Trustworthy of all the trustworthy,

الطاهرين أطهر يا

O Purest of the pure,

الخالقين أحسن يا

O Best of creators,

الحاسبين أسرع يا

O Quickest Reckoner,

السامعين أسمع يا

O Best of listeners,

الناظرين أبصر يا

O Most vigilant of invigilators,

الشافعين أشفع يا

O Best of intercessors,

األكرمين أكرم يا

O Most honourable of all.

(28) O Supporter of the unsupported,

له سند ال من سند يا

O Helper of the helpless,

له ذخر ال من ذخر يا

O Protector of the unprotected,

له حرز ال من حرز يا

O Shield for the defenseless,

له غياث ال من غياث يا

O Hearer of the unheard appeal,

له فخر ال من فخر اي

O Pride of those without pride,

له عز ال من عز يا

O Honour of the honourless,

له معين ال من معين يا

O Giver of Aid to the unaided,

له أنيس ال من أنيس يا

O Friend of the forsaken,

له أمان ال من أمان يا

O Shelter of the shelterless.







قائم يا عاصم يا

O Protector, O Persistent,

راحم يا دائم يا

O Eternal, O Merciful,

حاكم يا سالم يا

O Accorder of peace,

قاسم يا عالم يا

O Omniscient, O Distributor,

باسط يا قابض يا

O Preventer, O Opener.




يا رب . خل صنا من النار Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.

استعصمه من عاصم يا( 30)

(30) O Protector of he who seeks His protection,

استرحمه من راحم يا

O Merciful to he who requests His mercy,

استغفره من غافر يا

O Forgiver of the implore His forgiveness,

استنصره من ناصر يا

O Helper of he who asks for His help,

استحفظه من حافظ يا

O Protector of he who seeks His protection,

استكرمه من مكرم يا

O Magnanimous to he who seeks His magnanimity,

استرشده من مرشد يا

O Guide for he who seeks His guidance,

استصرخه من صريخ يا

O Giver of Aid to he who seeks His aid,

استعانه، من معين يا O Helper of he who appeals to Him,

استغاثه من مغيث يا

O Rescuer of he who appeals to Him,





يضام ال عزيزا يا( 31)

(31) O Powerful Who is never overpowered,

يرام ال لطيفا يا

O Benign Who is invisible,

ينام ال قيوما يا

O Self-Subsistent Who never sleeps,

يفوت ال دائما يا

O Eternal Who never perishes,

يموت ال حيا يا

O Ever-living Who never dies,

يزول ال ملكا يا

O Monarch Whose rule is endless,

يفنى ال باقيا يا

O Eternal Who is imperishable,

يجهل ال عالما يا

O Omniscient Who never forgets,

يطعم ال صمدا يا

O Independent Who needs no sustenance,

يضعف ال قويا يا

O Mighty Who never weakens.







واحد يا أحد يا

O Unique, O One,

ماجد يا شاهد يا

O Present, O Praiser,

راشد يا حامد يا

O Exalted, O Guide,

وارث يا باعث يا

O Resurrector, O Heir,

نافع يا ضار يا

O Harmful to the unjust,

O Beneficial to the just.




رب . خل صنا من النار يا Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.

عظيم كل من أعظم يا( 33)

(33) O Grandest of all the grand,

كريم كل من أكرم يا

O Most Magnanimous of all the magnanimous,

رحيم كل من أرحم يا

O Most Merciful of all the merciful,

عليم كل من أعلم يا

O Most Knowledgeable of all knowers,

حكيم كل من أحكم يا

O Most Wise of all the wise,

قديم كل من أقدم يا

O Most Ancient of all the ancient,

كبير كل من أكبر يا

O Most Great of all the great,

لطيف كل من ألطف يا

O Most Benign of all the benign,

جليل كل من أجل يا

O Most Magnificent of all the magnificent,

عزيز كل من أعز اي

O Most Mighty of all the mighty.

ت سبحانك يا ال إله إال أن




الصفح كريم يا( 34)

(34) O Most Magnanimous in overlooking sins,

المن عظيم يا

O Greatest Benefactor,

الخير كثير يا

O Most Bounteous in goodness,

الفضل قديم يا

O Eternal in grace,

اللطف، دائم يا O Eternal in subtlety,

الصنع لطيف يا

O Creator of subtlety,

الكرب منف س يا

O Remover of pain,

الضر كاشف يا

O Healer of injury,

الملك مالك يا

O Master of dominion,

الحق يقاض يا

O True Judge.





وفي عهده يف هو من يا( 35)

(35) O He Who fulfils His promise,

قوي وفائه يف هو من يا

O He Who is Strong in His fulfillment,

علي قوته يف هو من يا

O He Who is great in His might,

قريب علوه يف هو من يا

O He Who is near everyone in spite of His greatness,

لطيف قربه يف هو من يا

O He Who is benign in His weariness,

ف شري لطفه يف هو من يا

O He Who is noble in His benignity,

عزيز شرفه يف هو من يا

O He Who is powerful in His nobility,

عظيم عز ه يف هو من يا

O He Who is great in His power,

مجيد عظمته يف هو من يا

O He Who is exalted in His greatness,

حميد مجده يف هو من يا

O He Who is praiseworthy in his exaltation.




رب .خل صنا من النار يا Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.



يشاف يا يكاف يا

O Sufficient, O Restorer of health,

يمعاف يا يواف يا

O Faithful, O Forgiver

يداع يا يهاد يا

O Guide, O Summoner,

يراض يا يقاض يا

O Judge, O Agreeable,

يباق يا يعال يا

O High, O Eternal





له خاضع شيء كل من يا( 37)

(37) O He before Whom everything bows,

له خاشع شيء كل من يا

O He before Whom everything is humbled,

له كائن شيء كل من يا

O He for Whom everything exists,

به موجود شيء كل من يا

O He to Whom everything owes its existence,

إليه منيب شيء كل من يا

O He to Whom everything returns,

م نه خائف شيء كل من يا

O He of Whom everything is afraid,

به قائم شيء كل من يا

O One to Whom everything owes its stability,

إليه صائر شيء كل من يا

O He towards Whom everything retreats,

بحمده يسب ح شيء كل من يا

O He Whom everything glorifies with praise,

وجهه إال هالك شيء كل من يا

O He besides Whom everything is perishable.





إليه إال مفر ال من يا( 38)

(38) O He-there is no retreat but towards Him,

إليه إال مفزع ال من يا

O He-there is no place of protection except with Him,

إليه إال مقصد ال من يا

O He—there is no right path except that which leads to Him,

إليه إال منه منجى ال من يا

O He-there is no shelter against Him but with Him,

إليه إال يرغب ال من يا

O He-there is no inclination towards anyone except Him,

به إال قوة وال حول ال من يا

O He-there is no strength and vigour but from Him,

به إال يستعان ال من يا

O He-none is invoked for help but He.

عليه إال يتوكل ال من يا

O He-trust is not reposed in anyone but He,

هو إال يرجى ال من يا

O He-hope is not entertained from anyone except from He,

هو إال يعبد ال من يا

O He-none is worshipped except He





المرهوبين خير يا( 39)

(39) O Best of those who are feared,

المرغوبين خير يا

O Best of those who are liked,

المطلوبين خير يا

O Best of those who are sought,

المسؤولين خير يا

O Best of those who are entreated,

المقصودين خير يا

O Best of those who are longed for,

المذكورين خير يا

O Best of those who are remembered,

المشكورين خير يا

O Best of those to whom thanks are offered,

المحبوبين خير يا

O Best of those who are loved,

المدعو ين خير يا

O Best of those who are called on,

المستأنسين خير يا

O Best of those who are held in affection.

ال أنت سبحانك يا ال إله إ





(40) O Allah, verily I entreat You in Your name:

ساتر يا غافر يا

O Forgiver, O Concealer [of defects]

فاطر يا قاهر يا قادر يا

O Mighty, O Supreme, O Creator,

جابر يا كاسر يا

O Shatterer, O Joiner,

ناصر يا ناظر يا ذاكر يا

O Rememberer, O Seeing, O Helper.





فسوى خلق من يا( 41)

(41) O He Who created and perfected,

فهدى قدر من يا

O He Who made everything to measure and guided,

البلوى يكشف من يا

O He Who removes misfortunes,

النجوى يسمع من يا

O He Who overhears secrets,

الغرقى ينقذ من يا

O He Who rescues the drowning,

الهلكى يينج من يا

O He Who saves the distressed,

المرضى ييشف من يا

O He Who restores the sick to health,

وأبكى أضحك من يا

O He who makes [His slaves] laugh and weep,

اأحيو أمات من يا

O He Who causes to dies and calls to life,

واألنثى الذكر الزوجين خلق من يا

O He Who has created pairs of male and female.





سبيله والبحر البر يف من يا( 42)

(42) O He Whose course is on land and in water,

آياته اآلفاق يف من يا

O He Whose signs are in the universe,

برهانه اآليات يف من يا

O He in Whose signs are undeniable proofs,

قدرته الممات يف من يا

O He Whose; might is exhibited in causing death,

عبرته القبور يف من يا

O He Whose lesson is in graves,

ملكه القيامة يف من يا

O He Whose kingdom will be on the Day of Judgement,

هيبته الحساب يف من يا

O He in Whose reckoning of deeds is His dread,

قضاؤه الميزان يف من يا

O He in Whose balance is His order,

ثوابه الجنة يف من يا

O He Whose paradise is the place of His good reward,

عقابه النار يف من يا

O He Whose hell is the place of chastisement.





الخائفون يهرب إليه من يا( 43)

(43) O He-the frightened flee to Him,

المذنبون يفزع إليه من يا

O He-sinners take shelter with Him,

المنيبون يقصد إليه من يا

O He-the repentant return to Him,

الزاهدون يرغب إليه من يا

O He-the pious incline towards Him,

المتحي رون يلجأ إليه من يا

O He-the confounded seek shelter in Him,

المريدون يستأنس به من يا

O He-the desirous have affliction for Him,

المحبون يفتخر به من يا

O He-lovers are proud of Him,

الخاطئون يطمع عفوه يف من يا

O He-transgressors have agreed for His forgiveness,

الموقنون يسكن إليه من يا

O He-those who are sure in faith receive consolation from Him,

المتوك لون يتوكل عليه من يا

O He-those who trust Him rely on Him.







طبيب يا حبيب يا

O Friend, O physician,

رقيب يا قريب يا

O Near, O Supervisor,

مهيب يا حسيب يا

O Reckoner to account, O Awful,

مجيب يا مثيب يا

O Rewarder, O Acceptor,

بصير يا خبير يا

O Aware, O All-Seeing.





قريب كل من أقرب يا( 45)

(45) O Nearest of all,

حبيب كل من أحب يا

O Friendliest of all the friends,

بصير كل من أبصر يا

O Possessor Of greater insight than all others,

خبير كل من أخبر يا

O Most Aware of all

شريف كل من أشرف يا

O Noblest of all the nobles,

رفيع كل من أرفع يا

O Most Exalted of all the exalted,

قوي كل من أقوى يا

O Mightiest of all mighty,

غني كل من أغنى يا

O Most Independent of all,

جواد كل من أجود يا

O Most Generous of all,

رؤوف كل من أرأف يا

O Kindest of all those who are kind





مغلوب غير غالبا يا( 46)

(46)O Dominant who is not overpowered,

مصنوع غير صانعا يا

O Designer who is not made.

مخلوق غير خالقا يا

O Creator who is not created,

مملوك غير مالكا يا

O Master and not the slave,

مقهور غير قاهرا يا

O All-Dominant who is not dominated,

مرفوع غير رافعا يا

O Exalter and the Exalted,

محفوظ غير حافظا يا

O Protector who needs no protection,

منصور غير ناصرا يا

O Helper who needs no help,

غائب غير شاهدا يا

O Witness who is not absent,

بعيد غير قريبا يا

O Near who is not distant.





النور نور يا( 47)

(47) O Light of lights,

النور منو ر يا

O Illuminator of light,

النور خالق يا

O Creator of light

النور مدب ر يا

O Planner of light,

النور مقد ر يا

O Estimator of light,

نور كل نور يا

O Light of all lights,

نور كل قبل نورا يا

O Light that precedes in existence every light,

نور كل بعد نورا يا

O Light that will survive all lights,

نور كل فوق نورا يا

O Light that is above every light,

نور كمثله ليس نورا يا

O Light like of which there is no light.





شريف عطاؤه من يا( 48)

(48) O He Whose gift is noble,

لطيف فعله من يا

O He Whose action is subtle,

مقيم لطفه من يا

O He Whose kindness is persistent,

قديم إحسانه من يا

O He Whose beneficence is eternal,

حق قوله من يا

O He Whose word is right,

صدق وعده من يا

O He Whose promise is true,

فضل عفوه من يا

O He Whose forgiveness is a grace,

عدل عذابه من يا

O He Whose chastisement is justice,

حلو ذكره من يا

O He Whose remembrance is sweet,

عميم فضله من يا

O He Whose grace is universal.

O Facilitator, O Separator,

مذل ل يا مبد ل يا

O Alterer, O Humiliating of the proud,

منو ل يا منز ل يا

O Degrader, O Benefactor,

مجزل يا مفضل يا

O Munificent, O Giver of respite,

مجمل يا ممهل يا

O Grantor of respite, O Virtuous,





يرى وال يرى من يا( 50)

(50) O He Who sees but is not seen,

يخلق وال يخلق من يا

O He Who creates and is not created,

يهدى وال ييهد من يا

O He Who guides and is not guided,

يحيى وال ييحي من يا

O He Who receives to life and is not brought to life,

يسأل وال يسأل من يا

O He Who questions and is not questioned,

يطعم وال يطعم من يا

O He Who feeds and does not eat,

عليه يجار وال يجير من يا

O He Who gives protection and is in no need of protection,

عليه يقضى وال يقض ي من يا

O He Who judges and against Whom no judgement is passed,

عليه يحكم وال يحكم من يا

O He Who commands but is not commanded:

يولد ولم يلد لم من يا

O He Who begets not, nor is He begotten,

أحد كفوا له يكن ولم

And there is none like unto Him.





الحسيب نعم يا( 51)

(51) O Best reckoner,

الطبيب نعم يا

O Best physician,

الرقيب نعم يا

O Best guardian,

القريب نعم يا

O Best near one,

المجيب نعم يا

O Best responder,

الحبيب نعم يا

O Best friend,

الكفيل نعم يا

O Best surety,

الوكيل نعم يا

O Best protector,

المولى نعم يا

O Best master,

النصير نعم يا

O Best helper.



الغوثالغوث الغوث



العارفين سرور يا( 52)

(52) O Joy of saints,

المحب ين منى يا

O Desire of friends.

المريدين أنيس يا

O Friend of seekers,

التوابين حبيب يا

O Friend of penitents,

المقل ين رازق يا

O Provider of sustenance to the poor,

المذنبين رجاء يا

O Hope of sinners,

العابدين عين قرة يا

O Coolness of worshippers' eyes,

المكروبين عن منف س يا

O Remover Of sufferers' pain,

المغمومين عن مفر ج يا

O Dispeller of the sorrows of the sorrowful,

واآلخرين األولين إله يا

O Allah of the first and the last generation.







إلهنا يا ربنا يا

O our Lord, O our Allah,

موالنا يا سي دنا يا

O our Chief, O our Master,

حافظنا يا ناصرنا يا

O our Helper, O our Protector,

معيننا يا دليلنا يا

O our Guide, O our Aider,

طبيبنا يا حبيبنا يا

O our Friend, O our Physician.





واألبرار النبي ين رب يا( 54)

(54) O Lord of the prophets and the virtuous,

واألخيار الص د يقين رب يا

O Lord of the righteous and chosen one,

والنار الجنة رب يا

O Lord of paradise and hell,

والكبار الص غار رب يا

O Lord of the small and the great,

والث مار الحبوب رب يا

O Lord of grains and fruits,

واألشجار األنهار رب يا

O Lord of canals and trees,

والقفار يالصحار رب يا

O Lord of forest and desert,

والبحار يالبرار رب يا

O Lord of lands and seas,

والنهار الليل رب يا

O Lord of night and day,

واإلسرار اإلعالن رب يا

O Lord of the manifest and the hidden.





أمره شيء كل يف نفذ من يا( 55)

(55) O He, Whose command operates in everything,

علمه شيء بكل لحق من يا


قدرته شيء كل إلى بلغت من يا

O He, Whose control extends to everything,

نعمه العباد ييحص ال من يا

O He, Whose bounties cannot be counted by His slaves,

شكره الخالئق تبلغ ال من يا

O He, Whom His creatures cannot adequately thank,

جالله األفهام تدرك ال من يا

O He, Whose grandeur cannot be comprehended by the intellect,

كنهه األوهام تنال ال من يا

O He, Whose reality cannot be acquired by the imagination,

رداؤه والكبرياء العظمة من يا

O He, Whose garb is majesty and greatness,

قضاءه العباد يرد ال من يا

O He, Whose judgement cannot be reversed by His slave,

ملكه إال ملك ال من يا

O He, Whose alone is the kingdom and no one else'

عطاؤه إال عطاء ال من يا

O He, Whose alone is the gift and none else's,





األعلى المثل له من يا( 56)

(56) O He, for Whom are noblest examples,

العليا الص فات له من يا

O He, for Whom are high attributes,

واألولى اآلخرة له من يا

O He, Who is the Master of the beginning and the end,

المأوى جنة له من يا

O He, Who is the Master of the abode of paradise,

الكبرى اآليات له من يا

O He, for Whom are great signs,

الحسنى األسماء له من يا

O He, for Whom are beautiful names,

والقضاء الحكم له من يا

O He, for Whom is order and judgement,

والفضاء الهواء له من يا

O He, Who rules over the atmosphere and the expanse,

والثرى العرش له من يا

O He, Whose is the Lordship of the highest heaven and the earth,

العلى السماوات له من يا

O He, Who is the Master of the high heavens.







غفور يا عفو يا

O Pardoner, O Forgiver,

شكور يا صبور يا

O Patient, O Greatest appreciator (of good),

عطوف يا رؤوف يا

O Kind, O Sympathetic,

ودود يا مسؤول يا

O Besought, O Friend,

قدوس يا سبوح يا

O Most Glorified, O Most Holy.





عظمته السماء يف من يا( 58)

(58) O He, Whose greatness is in the heavens,

آياته األرض يف من يا

O He, Whose signs are on the earth,

دالئله شيء كل يف من يا

O He, Whose proofs are manifest in everything,

عجائبه البحار يف من يا

O He, Whose wonders are in the seas,

خزائنه الجبال يف من يا

O He, Whose treasures are in the mountains,

يعيده ثم الخلق يبدأ من يا

O He, Who originated Creation which then returns to Him,

كله األمر يرجع إليه من يا

O He, towards Whom is the return of every matter,

لطفه شيء كل يف أظهر من يا

O, Whose Kindness is evident in everything,

قهخل شيء كل أحسن من يا

O He, Who makes best everything which He has created,

قدرته الخالئق يف تصرف من يا

O He, Whose authority is wielded over all creatures.





له حبيب ال من حبيب يا( 59)

(59) O Friend of he who has no friend,

له طبيب ال من طبيب يا

O Physician of he who has no physician,

له مجيب ال من مجيب يا

O Responder to he who has no responder,

له شفيق ال من شفيق يا

O Affectionate One to he whom none hold in affection,

له رفيق ال من رفيق يا

O Friend of he who has no friend,

له مغيث ال من مغيث يا

O Helper of he who has no help,

له دليل ال من دليل يا

O Guide of he who has no guide,

له أنيس ال من أنيس يا

O Associate of the forlorn,

له راحم ال من راحم يا

O Merciful One towards he on whom no one has mercy,

له صاحب ال من صاحب يا

O Companion of he who has no companion.





استكفاه من يكاف يا( 60)

(60) O Sufficer for those who seek sufficiency,

استهداه من يهاد يا

O Guide for those who seek guidance,

استكاله من كالئ يا

O Protector for those who seek protection,

استرعاه من يراع يا

O Granter for concession to those who seek concession,

استشفاه من يشاف يا

O Healer for those who seek cure,

استقضاه من يقاض اي

O Just One for those who seek justice,

استغناه من يمغن يا

O Bestower of wealth for those who seek wealth,

استوفاه من يموف يا

O Fulfiller of promises for those who seek fulfillment,

استقواه من يمقو يا

O Granter of strength for those who seek strength,

استواله من ولي يا

O Aider of those who seek aid.






(61) O Allah , verily I entreat You in Your name:

رازق يا خالق يا

O Creator, O Provider of sustenance,

صادق يا ناطق يا

O Creator of speech, O Truthful,

فارق يا فالق يا

O Splitter, O Separator,

راتق يا فاتق يا

O Breaker, O Combiner,

سامق يا سابق يا

O Foremost, O Most High.





والنهار الليل يقل ب من يا( 62)

(62) O He, Who changes night and day,

واألنوار الظلمات جعل من يا

O He, Who has created darkness and light,

والحرور الظ ل خلق من يا

O He, Who has bestowed shade and heat,

والقمر الشمس سخر من يا

O He, Who has brought into subjection the sun and the moon,

والشر الخير قدر من يا

O He, Who has ordained virtue and vice,

والحياة الموت خلق من يا

O He, Who has created death and life,

واألمر الخلق له من يا

O He, Who has made the body and the soul,

ولدا وال صاحبة يت خذ لم من يا

O He, Who has neither taken a wife nor begotten any child,

الملك يف شريك له ليس من يا

O He, Who has no partner in His sovereignty,

الذل م ن ولي له يكن لم من يا

O He, Who has no friend among the disgraced.





المريدين مراد يعلم من يا( 63)

(63) O He, Who knows the desire of the desirous,

الصامتين ضمير يعلم من يا

O He, Who knows the conscience of the silent,

الواهنين أنين يسمع من يا

O He, who hears the cries of the weak,

ائفين الخ بكاء يرى من يا

O He, Who sees the lamentation of the frightened,

السائلين حوائج يملك من يا

O He, Who satisfies the needs of the petitioner,

التائبين عذر يقبل من يا

O He, Who accepts the excuse of the repentant,

المفسدين عمل يصلح ال من يا

O He, Who does not correct the actions of the mischievous,

المحسنين أجر يضيع ال من يا

O He, Who does waste the good reward of the virtuous,

العارفين قلوب عن يبعد ال من يا

O He, Who is not absent from the mind of the saint,

يا أجود األجودين O the most Magnanimous of all those who show magnanimity.





البقاء دائم يا( 64)

(64) O Eternal Living,

الدعاء سامع يا

O Hearer of prayers,

العطاء واسع يا

O Liberal Bestower

الخطاء غافر يا

O Forgiver of sins,

السماء بديع يا

O Creator of the sky,

البالء حسن يا

O Best tester of trials,

الثناء جميل يا

O Most Praiseworthy,

السناء قديم يا

O Eternally Great,

الوفاء كثير يا

O Greatest fulfiller of promises,

الجزاء شريف يا

O Best Recompenser.







غفار يا ستار يا

O Best concealer of defects, O Best forgiver,

جبار يا قهار يا

O Most dominant, O Supreme,

بار يا صبار يا

O Most patient, O Most virtuous,

فتاح يا مختار يا

O Most exalted, O Best opener,

مرتاح يا نفاح يا

O Blower of winds, O Bestower of Happiness.





يوسوان يخلقن من يا( 66)

(66) O He, Who created me and perfected me,

يوربان يرزقن من يا

O He, Who provided me with sustenance and nurtured me,

يوسقان يأطعمن من يا

O He, Who provided food for me and quenched my thirst,

يوأدنان يقربن من يا

O He, Who brought me near Him and brought me most nigh,

يوكفان يعصمن من يا

O He, Who protected me and kept me in safety,

يوكالن يحفظن من يا

O He, Who saved and guarded me,

يوأغنان يأعزن من يا

O He, Who honoured me and enriched me,

يوهدان يوفقن من يا

O He, Who helped and guided me,

يوآوان يآنسن من يا

O He, Who befriended me and sheltered me,

يوأحيان يأماتن من يا

O He, Who causes me to die and revivifies me.




النار يا رب . خل صنا من Protect us from the Fire, O Lord.

بكلماته الحق يحق من يا( 67)

(67) O He, Who maintains truth by His words,

عباده عن التوبة يقبل من يا

O He, Who accepts repentance from His slaves,

وقلبه المرء بين يحول من يا

O He, Who stands between man and his heart,

بإذنه إال الشفاعة تنفع ال من يا

O He, without Whose permission intercession has no benefit,

سبيله عن ضل بمن أعلم هو من يا

O He, Who knows well who is astray from His path,

لحكمه معق ب ال من يا

O He, Whose order no one can reverse,

لقضائه راد ال من يا

O He, Whose judgement no one can revoke,

ألمره شيء كل انقاد من يا

O He, Whose order is obeyed by everything,

بيمينه مطويات السماوات من يا

O He, in Whose Right Hand the heavens shall be rolled up,

رحمته يدي بين بشري الر ياح يرسل من يا

O He, Who sends forth the winds bearing good tiding before His

mercy.

ه إال أنت سبحانك يا ال إل




مهادا األرض جعل من يا( 68)

(68) O He, Who has made earth a cradle.

أوتادا الجبال جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the mountains pegs,

سراجا الشمس جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the sun a lamp,

نورا القمر جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the moon a light,

لباسا الليل جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the night a covering,

معاشا النهار جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the day for seeking livelihood,

سباتا النوم جعل من يا

O He, Who has made sleep a rest,

بناءا السماء جعل من يا

O He, Who has made the sky a vault,

أزواجا األشياء جعل من يا

O He, Who has created things in pairs,

مرصادا النار جعل من يا

O He, Who has made hell an ambush, barking for sinners.







شفيع يا سميع يا

O All-hearer, O Mediator,

منيع يا رفيع يا

O Sublime, O Invincible,

بديع يا سريع يا

O Swift, O Originator,

قدير يا كبير يا

O Great, O Omnipotent,

مجير يا خبير يا

O Knowing, O Supporter.

ال إله إال أنت سبحانك يا




حي كل قبل حيا يا( 70)

(70) O Everliving, preceding every living being,

حي كل بعد حيا يا

O Everliving, succeeding every living being,

حي كمثله ليس يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, like unto Whom there is none,

حي يشاركه ال يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, Who has no living partner,

حي إلى يحتاج ال يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, Who is not dependent on any living being,

حي كل يميت يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, Who causes every living being to die,

حي كل يرزق يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, Who provides sustenance to every living being,

حي من الحياة يرث لم حيا يا

O Everliving, Who has not inherited life from any living being,

الموتى ييحي يالذ حي يا

O Everliving, Who quickens the dead,

نوم وال سنة تأخذه ال قيوم، يا حي يا

O Everliving, O Self-Subsistent, Slumber seizeth Him not, nor

sleep.





ينسى ال ذكر له من يا( 71)

(71) O He, Whose remembrance is not forgotten,

يطفى ال نور له من يا

O He, Whose light is not extinguished

تعد ال نعم له من يا

O He, Whose bounties are countless,

يزول ال ملك له من يا

O He, Whose grandeur is perpetual,

يحصى ال ثناء له من يا

O He, Whose praise does not admit of alteration,

يكيف ال جالل له من يا

O He, Whose glory is not framed,

يدرك ال كمال له من يا

O He, Whose perfection cannot be comprehended,

يرد ال قضاء له من يا

O He, Whose order is not rejected,

تبدل، ال صفات له من يا O He, Whose attributes do not change,

تغير ال نعوت له من يا

O He, Whose attributes do not alter,





العالمين رب يا( 72)

(72) O Lord of all the worlds,

الد ين يوم مالك يا

O Master of the Day of Judgement,

الطالبين غاية يا

O Ultimate Goal of the seeker,

الالجين ظهر يا

O Refuge of the seeker of shelter,

الهاربين مدرك يا

O Overtaker of the fugitive,

الصابرين يحب من يا

O He Who loves the patient,

التوابين يحب من يا

O He, Who loves the repentant,

المتطه رين يحب من يا

O He, Who loves the pure,

ن المحسني يحب من يا

O He, Who loves the virtuous

بالمهتدين أعلم هو من يا

O He, Who knows best the guided,







رفيق يا شفيق يا

O Affectionate, O Companion,

محيط يا حفيظ يا

O Protector, O Encompasser,

مغيث يا مقيت يا

O Provider of sustenance, O Aider of seekers of aid,

مذل يا معز يا

O Honourer, O Humiliating,

معيد يا مبدئ يا

O Creator, O He Who causes to return.





ضد بال أحد هو من يا( 74)

(74) O He, Who is single and without opposite,

ند بال فرد هو من يا

O He, Who is Unique, O He, Who is Peerless,

عيب صمدبال هو من يا

O He, Who is Independent and without any defect,

كيف بال وتر هو من يا

O He, Who is without changing state,

حيف بال قاض هو من يا

O He, Who judges without injustice,

وزير بال رب هو من يا

O He, Who is the Lord Cherisher,

ذل بال عزيز هو من يا

O He, Who is Mighty without disgrace,

فقر بال غني هو من يا

O He, Who is Independent without any need,

عزل بال ملك هو من يا

O He, Who is the King without any censure,

شبيه بال موصوف هو من يا

O He, Whose attributes are matchless.






ل لذاكرين شرف ذكره من يا( 75)

(75) O He, Whose remembrance is an honour for those who

remember Him,

ل لشاكرين فوز شكره من يا

O He, Whose gratitude is success for the grateful,

ل لحامدين عز حمده من يا

O He, Whose praise is the pride of the praiser,

ل لمطيعين نجاة طاعته من يا

O He, the obedience to Whom is salvation for the obedient

ل لطالبين مفتوح بابه من يا

O He, Whose door is open to the seeker,

ل لمنيبين واضح سبيله من يا

O He, the path leading to Whom is clear for the repentant,

ل لناظرين برهان آياته من يا

O He, Whose signs are proofs for the observers,

ل لمتقين تذكرة كتابه من يا

O He, Whose Book is advice to the pious,

والعاصين ل لطائعين عموم ر زقه من يا

O He, Whose provision, is love the obedient and disobedient alike,

المحسنين م ن قريب رحمته من يا

O He, Whose mercy is close to the virtuous.





اسمه تبارك من يا( 76)

(76) O He, Whose name is glorious,

جده تعالى من يا

O He, Whose honour is exalted,

غيره إله ال من يا

O He-there is no deity except Him,

ثناؤه جل من يا

O He-great is His praise,

أسماؤه تقدست من يا

O He, Whose names are sacred,

بقاؤه يدوم من يا

O He, Whose existence is eternal,

يا من العظمة بهاؤه O He, Whose glory is His ornament,

رداؤه الكبرياء من يا

O He, Whose greatness is His covering,

آالؤه تحصى ال من يا

O He, Whose favours are countless,

نعماؤه تعد ال من يا

O He, Whose bounties cannot be enumerated.



الغوث الغوث الغوث





أمين يا معين يا

O Helper, O Trustworthy,

متين يا مبين يا

O Manifest, O Powerful,

رشيد يا مكين يا

O Firm, O True Guide,

مجيد يا حميد يا

O Praiseworthy, O Glorious,

شهيد يا شديد يا

O Strong, O Witness





المجيد العرش ذا يا( 78)

(78) O Lord of the Glorious Throne,

السديد القول ذا يا

O He, Whose words are right.

الرشيد الفعل ذا يا

O Master of great deeds,

يا ذا البطش الشديد O He, Whose punishment is severe

والوعيد الوعد ذا يا

O Master of promise and threat,

الحميد الولي هو من يا

O He, Who is guardian and the most praised one,

يريد ل ما فعال هو من يا

O He, Who is the mighty doer of whatever He wills,

بعيد غير قريب هو من يا

O He, Who is near and not far,

شهيد شيء كل على هو من يا

O He, Who is Witness to everything,

ل لعبيد بظالم ليس هو من يا

O He, Who is not the least cruel to his slaves,





والوزير له شريك ال من يا( 79)

(79) O He, Who has no partner and no adviser,

نظير وال له شبيه ال من يا

O He, Who has no equal and no match,

المنير والقمر الشمس خالق يا

O Creator of the sun and the bright moon,

الفقير البائس يمغن يا

O Enricher of the poverty stricken,

الصغير الط فل رازق يا

O Provider of sustenance to small children,

الكبير الشيخ راحم يا

O Merciful to the very aged ones,

يا جابر العظم الكسيرO Joiner of broken bones,

المستجير الخائف عصمة يا

O Protector of the frightened shelter seekers,

بصير خبير بعباده هو من يا

O He , Who is All-Aware and All-Seeing of his slaves,

قدير شيء كل على هو من يا

O He, Who is Powerful over everything.





والن عم الجود ذا يا( 80)

(80) O Master of generosity and the Bestower of the bounties,

والكرم الفضل ذا يا

O Gracious and Magnanimous,

والقلم اللوح خالق يا

O Creator of the Tablet and the Pen,

النسم و الذر بارئ يا

O Creator of ants and men,

والن قم البأس ذا يا

O Inflictor of punishment and retaliator,

والعجم العرب ملهم يا

O Inspirer of Arabs and non-Arabs,

واأللم الضر كاشف يا

O Expeller of pain and grief,

والهمم الس ر عالم يا

O He, Who knows the secrets and the mysteries,

والحرم البيت رب يا

O Lord of the Kaaba and the Sacred Precinct,

العدم من األشياء خلق من يا

O He, Who has created everything out of nothingness,







جاعل يا فاعل يا

O Doer, O Creator

كامل يا قابل يا

O Acceptor, O Perfect,

واصل يا فاصل يا

O Gracious, O Separator

غالب يا عادل يا

O Just, O Dominant,

واهب يا طالب يا

O Seeker, O Generous





بطوله أنعم من يا( 82)

(82) O He, Who graciously bestows His bounties on us,

بجوده أكرم من يا

O He, Who honours us with His charity,

بلطفه جاد من يا

O He, Who rewards us out of His beneficing,

بقدرته تعزز من يا

O He, Who makes us respectable with His might,

بحكمته قدر من يا

O He, Who predestines with His wisdom,

بتدبيره حكم من يا

O He, Who judges with His planning,

بعلمه دبر من يا

O He, Who decrees with His knowledge,

بحلمه تجاوز من يا

O He, Who is forbearing with His forbearance,

علو ه يف دنا من يا

O He, Who is near us in spite of His exaltation,

دنو ه يف عال من يا

O He, Who is exalted despite His nearness.





يشاء ما يخلق من يا( 83)

(83) O He, Who creates whatever He wishes,

يشاء ما يفعل من يا

O He, Who does whatever He wishes,

يشاء من ييهد من يا

O He, Who guides whomever He wishes,

يشاء من يضل من يا

O He, Who leaves astray whomever He wishes,

يشاء من يعذ ب من يا

O He, Who punishes whomever He wishes,

يشاء لمن يغفر من يا

O He, Who forgives whomever He wishes,

يشاء من يعز من يا

O He, Who honors whomever He wishes,

يشاء من يذل من يا

O He, Who dishonors whomever He wishes,

يشاء ما األرحام يف يصو ر من يا

O He, Who fashions in the womb as He wishes,

يشاء من برحمته يختص من يا

O He, Who chooses for His mercy whoever He wishes.





والولدا صاحبة يتخذ لم من يا( 84)

(84) O He, Who has neither wife nor child,

قدرا شيء لكل جعل من يا

O He, Who creates everything in a fixed measure,

أحدا حكمه يف يشرك ال من يا

O He, Who has no partner in His rule,

رسال المالئكة جعل من يا

O He, Who appointed angels as messengers,

بروجا السماء يف جعل من يا

O He, Who made constellations in the heaven,

قرارا األرض جعل من يا

O He, Who made the earth a place of abode,

بشرا الماء من خلق من يا

O He, Who created man from water,

أمدا شيء لكل جعل من يا

O He, Who fixed a period for everything,

علما شيء بكل أحاط من يا


عددا شيء كل أحصى من يا

O He, Who knows the number and quantity of everything.

يا ال إله إال أنت سبحانك






آخر يا أول يا

O First, O Last,

باطن يا ظاهر يا

O Manifest, O Hidden,

حق يا بر يا

O Virtuous, O Right,

وتر يا فرد يا

O He, O Unique,

سرمد يا صمد يا

O Independent, O Eternal





عرف معروف خير يا( 86)

(86) O Best recognized of all the recognized,

عبد معبود أفضل يا

O Best of all to be worshipped,

شكر مشكور أجل يا

O Greatest of those to whom thanks are due,

ذكر مذكور أعز يا

O Most remembered of all who are remembered,

حمد محمود لىأع يا

O Most praiseworthy of all those who are praised,

طلب موجود أقدم يا

O Eternal Existent who is sought,

وصف موصوف أرفع يا

O Highest of those who are praised,

قصد مقصود أكبر يا

O Greatest of the purposes which are striven for,

سئل مسؤول أكرم يا

O Most liberal giver who is requested,

علم محبوب أشرف يا

O Noblest Friend who is known.






الباكين حبيب يا( 87)

(87) O Friend of those who weep,

المتوك لين سي د يا

O Refuge of those who trust in Him,

المضل ين يهاد يا

O Guide of the misguided,

المؤمنين ولي يا

O Master of the faithful,

الذاكرين أنيس يا

O Friend of worshippers,

الملهوفين مفزع يا

O Shelter of the sorrowful,

الصادقين يمنج يا

O Redeemer of the truthful,

القادرين أقدر يا

O Mightiest of all,

العالمين أعلم يا

O the most Knowledgeable of all beings.

أجمعين الخلق إله يا

O Allah of the entire Creation,





فقهر عال من يا( 88)

(88) O He, Who is high and dominant,

فقدر ملك من يا

O He, Who is masterful and powerful,

فخبر بطن من يا

O He, Who is hidden and aware,

فشكر عبد من يا

O He, Who is worshipped and who appreciates,

فغفر يعص من يا

O He, Who is disobeyed and yet forgives,

الفكر تحويه ال من يا

O He, Whom thought cannot encompass,

بصر يدركه ال من يا

O He, Whom eyes cannot see,

أثر عليه يخفى ال من يا

O He, from Whom nothing is concealed,

البشر رازق يا

O Provider of Sustenance to mankind,

قدر كل مقد ر يا

O He, Who ordained all destinies.







بارئ يا حافظ يا

O Protector, O Maker,

باذخ يا ذارئ يا

O Creator, O All-generous,

فاتح يا فارج يا

O Revealer, O Victorious,

ضامن يا كاشف يا

O Disclosers, O Guarantor,

يناه يا آمر يا

O Commander, O Prohibiter.





هو إال الغيب يعلم ال من يا( 90)

(90) O He, besides Whom no one knows the secrets,

هو إال السوء يصرف ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one drives away calamities,

هو إال الخلق يخلق ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one creates,

هو إال الذنب يغفر ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one forgives sins,

هو إال الن عمة يتم ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one perfects the bounties,

هو إال القلوب يقل ب ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one transforms hearts,

هو إال األمر يدب ر ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one manages affairs,

هو إال الغيث ينز ل ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one holds the reins,

هو إال الر زق يبسط ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one increases sustenance,

هو إال الموتى ييحي ال من يا

O He, besides Whom no one revives the dead.





الضعفاء معين يا( 91)

(91) O Helper of the weak,

الغرباء صاحب يا

O Companion of the strangers,

األولياء ناصر يا

O Helper of [His] friends,

األعداء قاهر يا

O Overpowerer of the enemies,

السماء رافع يا

O Elevator of the sky,

األصفياء أنيس يا

O Genial to the chosen ones,

األتقياء حبيب يا

O Friend of the pious,

الفقراء كنز يا

O Treasure of the indigent,

األغنياء إله يا

O Lord of the rich,

الكرماء أكرم يا

O Most benign of all.





شيء كل م ن كافيا يا( 92)

(92) O He Who is self-sufficient from everything,

شيء كل على قائما يا

O He Who is established over everything,

شيء يشبهه ال من يا

O He, nothing is like unto Him,

شيء ملكه يف يزيد ال من يا

O He, nothing extends His Kingdom,

شيء عليه يخفى ال من يا

O He from Whom nothing is hidden,

شيء خزائنه من ينقص ال من يا

O He, nothing decreases His treasure,

شيء كمثله ليس من يا

O He, nothing is like unto Him,

شيء علمه عن يعزب ال من يا

O He, Whose Knowledge encompasses everything,

شيء بكل خبير هو من يا

O He, Who is All-Aware,

شيء كل رحمته وسعت من يا

O He, Whose mercy extends to everything.







مطعم يا مكرم يا

O Generous, O Provider,

يمعط يا منعم يا

O Bestower of bounties, O Bestower of gifts,

يمقن يا يمغن يا

O Enricher, O Giver of Shelter

يمحي يا يمفن يا

O Destroyer, O Quickener,

يمنج يا يمرض يا

O Satisfier, O Who grants salvation,





وآخره شيء كل أول يا( 94)

(94) O First and the Last,

ومليكه شيء كل إله يا

O Lord of everything and its Master,

وصانعه شيء كل رب يا

O Lord Cherisher of everything and its Fashioner

وخالقه شيء كل بارئ يا

O Creator of everything and its Maker,

وباسطه شيء كل قابض يا

O Controller of everything and its Extender,

ومعيده شيء كل مبدئ يا

O Origin of everything and its Return,

ومقد ره شيء كل منشئ يا

O Originator of everything and its estimator,

ومحو له شيء كل مكو ن يا

O Creator of everything and its destroyer,

ومميته شيء كل يمحي يا

O Quickener of everything and Maker of its death,

ووارثه شيء كل خالق يا

O Author of everything and its inheritor.





ومذكور ذاكر خير يا( 95)

(95) O Best Rememberer and Remembered,

ومشكور شاكر خير يا

O Best Appreciator and Appreciated,

ومحمود حامد خير يا

O Best Praiser and Praised,

ومشهود شاهد خير يا

O Best Witness and Witnessed,

ومدعو داع خير يا

O Best Inviter and Invited,

ومجاب مجيب خير يا

O Best Responder and Responded,

وأنيس مؤنس خير يا

O Best Comforter and Counselor,

وجليس صاحب خير يا

O Best Friend and Companion,

ومطلوب مقصود خير يا

O Most Desired and Sought,

ومحبوب حبيب خير يا

O Most Affectionate and Loved.

إله إال أنت سبحانك يا ال




مجيب دعاه لمن هو من يا( 96)

(96) O Allah, the Answerer to him who calls Him,

حبيب أطاعه لمن هو من يا

O Friend of him who obeys Him,

قريب أحبه من إلى هو من يا

O He, Who is close to him who loves Him,

رقيب استحفظه بمن هو من يا

O Protector of one who seeks protection,

كريم رجاه بمن هو من يا

O Allah Who is Generous to him who is hopeful of Him,

حليم عصاه بمن هو من يا

O Allah, Who is Forbearing to one who disobeys Him,

رحيم عظمته يف هو من يا

O Allah, Who is Merciful in spite of His Grandeur,

عظيم حكمته يف هو من يا

O Allah, Who is Great in His Wisdom,

قديم إحسانه يف هو من يا

O Allah, Who is Eternal in his Benevolence,

عليم أراده بمن هو من يا

O Allah, Who is Aware of one who seeks Him.







مرغ ب يا مسب ب يا

O Primal Cause, O Creator of desire,

مرت ب يا معق ب يا مقل ب يا

O Changer, O Inflictor, O Organizer,

مذك ر يا محذ ر يا مخو ف يا

O Awful, O Saver, O Reminder,

مغي ر يا مسخ ر يا

O Subjector, O Displacer.





سابق علمه من يا( 98)

(98) O He Whose Knowledge is eternal,

صادق وعده من يا

O He Whose Promise is true,

ظاهر لطفه من يا

O He Whose Benignity is manifest,

غالب أمره من يا

O He Whose Command is overruling,

محكم كتابه من يا

O He Whose Book is clear and final,

كائن قضاؤه من يا

O He Whose Judgement is inevitable,

مجيد قرآنه من يا

O He Whose Qur'an is glorious,

قديم ملكه من يا

O He Whose Rule is eternal,

عميم فضله من يا

O He Whose Favour is common to all,

عظيم عرشه من يا

O He Whose Throne is great.





سمع عن سمع يشغله ال من يا( 99)

(99) O He-listening to one individual does not prevent Him from

listening to others simultaneously,

فعل عن فعل يمنعه ال من يا

O He-doing one thing does not prevent Him from doing other

things simultaneously,

قول عن قول يلهيه ال من يا

O He-the speech of one person does not make Him needless of the

simultaneous speech of others,

سؤال عن سؤال يغل طه ال من يا

O He-one request does not make Him forgetful of other requests,

شيء عن شيء يحجبه ال من يا

O He-the sight of one thing does not prevent him from seeing

other things simultaneously,

الملح ين حاح إل يبرمه ال من يا

O He-the plaintive cries of those who weep and lament do not

bother Him,

المريدين مراد غاية هو من يا

O He Who is the ultimate Aim of the efforts of saints,

العارفين همم منتهى هو من يا

O He Who is the Goal of Gnostics,

الطالبين طلب منتهى هو من يا

O He Who is the Goal of seekers,

العالمين يف ذرة عليه يخفى ال من يا

O He from Whom not a single particle in the worlds is hidden.





يعجل ال حليما يا( 100)

(100) O Forbearing Who does not make haste,

يبخل ال جوادا يا

O Generous Who is never a miser,

يخلف ال صادقا يا

O True Who never breaks the promise

يمل ال وهابا يا

O Munificent Who never regrets,

يغلب ال قاهرا يا

O Dominant Who is never overpowered,

يوصف ال عظيما يا

O Great Who is indescribable

يحيف ال عدال يا

O Just Who is never oppressive,

يفتقر ال غنيا يا

O Bounteous Who is never rapacious,

يصغر ال كبيرا يا

O Great Who does not become small,

يغفل ال حافظا يا

O Protector Who does not neglect.



Dua Makarim ul Akhlaq



وآله محمد على صل اللهم

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household,

اإليمان أكمل يبإيمان وبل غ

cause my faith to reach the most perfect faith,

اليقين أفضل ييقين واجعل

make my certainty the most excellent certainty,

أحسن إلى يوبعمل الن يات، أحسن إلى يبنيت وانته

األعمالand take my intention to the best of intentions, and my works to

the best of works!

اللهمO Allah,

ينيت بلطفك وف ر

complete my intention through Your gentleness,

ييقين عندك بما وصح ح

rectify my certainty through what is with You,

يمن فسد ما بقدرتك واستصلح

And set right what is corrupt in me through Your power!



به اإلهتمام ييشغلن ما يواكفن

spare me the concerns which distract me,

عنه غدا يتسألن بما يواستعملن

employ me in that about which You will ask me tomorrow,

له يخلقتن فيما يأيام واستفرغ

And let me pass my days in that for which You hast created me!

رزقك يف علي وأوسع يواغنن

Free me from need, and expand Your provision toward me,

بالنظر يتفتن وال

And tempt me not with ingratitude!

بالكبر يتبتلين وال يوأعزن

Exalt me and afflict me not with pride!

بالعجب يعبادت تفسد وال لك يوعب دن

Make me worship You and corrupt not my worship with self-

admiration!

بالمن تمحقه وال الخير يدي على للناس وأجر

Let good flow out from my hands upon the people and efface it

not by my making them feel obliged!

األخالق يمعال يل وهب

Give me the highest moral traits

الفخر من يواعصمن

And preserve me from vainglory!



ينفس عند يحططتن إال درجة الناس يف يترفعن وال

مثلهاraise me not a single degree before the people without lowering

me its like in myself

عند باطنة ذلة يل أحدثت إال ظاهرا عزا يل تحدث وال

بقدرها ينفس

And bring about no outward exaltation for me without an inward

abasement in myself to the same measure!

محمد وآل محمد على صل اللهم

O Allah, bless Muhammad and Muhammad's Household,

به، أستبدل ال صالح بهدى يومت عن give me to enjoy a sound guidance which I seek not to replace,

ها،عن أزيغ ال حق وطريقة a path of truth from which I swerve not,

فيها أشك ال رشد ونية

And an intention of right conduct in which I have no doubts!

كان فإذا طاعتك، يف بذلة يعمر كان ما يوعم رن

يسبق أن قبل إليك، يفاقبضن للشيطان مرتعا يعمر

علي غضبك يستحكم أو إلي، مقتك

Let me live as long as my life is a free gift in being You, but if my

life should become a pasture for Satan, seize me to Yourself before

Your hatred overtakes me or Your wrath against be becomes firm!

اللهمO Allah,

أصلحتها إال يمن تعاب خصلة تدع ال

deposit in me no quality for which I will be faulted, unless You

settest it right,

حسنتها، إال بها أؤنب ئبة اع وال no flaw for which I will be blamed, unless You makest it beautiful,

أتممتها إال ناقصة في أكرومة وال

And no deficient noble trait, unless You completest it!


O Allah, bless Muhammad and Muhammad's Household,

المحبة الشنان أهل بغضة من يوأبدلن

and replace for me the animosity of the people of hatred with love,

المودة، البغي أهل حسد ومن the envy of the people of insolence with affection,

الث قة، الصالح أهل ظنة ومن the suspicion of the people of righteousness with trust,

الوالية، األدنين عداوة ومن the enmity of those close with friendship,

المبرة، األرحام يذو عقوق ومن the disrespect of womb relatives with devotion,

النصرة، األقربين خذالن ومن the abandonment of relatives with help,

المقة، تصحيح المدارين حب ومن the attachment of flatterers with love set right,

العشرة، كرم المالبسين رد ومن the rejection of fellows with generous friendliness,

األمنة حالوة الظالمين خوف مرارة ومن

And the bitterness of the fear of wrongdoers with the sweetness of

security!



ظلمني، من على يدا يل واجعل appoint for me a hand against him who wrongs me,

خاصمني، من على ولسانا a tongue against him who disputes with me,

يعاندن بمن وظفرا

And a victory over him who stubbornly resists me!

كايدني، من على كرام يل وهب Give me guile against him who schemes against me,

اضطهدني، من على وقدرة power over him who oppresses me,

قصبني، لمن وتكذيبا refutation of him who reviles me,

يتوعدن م من وسالمة

And safety from him who threatens me!

سددني، من لطاعة يووف قن Grant me success to obey him who points me straight

يأرشدن من ومتابعة

And follow him who guides me right!


O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household

ألن يوسد دن

and point me straight to

بالنصح، يغشن من أعارض resist him who is dishonest toward me without counsel,

بالبر ، يهجرن من يوأجز repay him who separates from me with gentle devotion,

بالبذل، يحرمن من وأثيب reward him who deprives me with free giving,

بالص لة، يقطعن من وأكافئ recompense him who cuts me off with joining,

الذ كر، حسن إلى ياغتابن من وأخالف oppose him who slanders me with excellent mention,

الحسنة، أشكر وأن give thanks for good,

السي ئة عن يوأغض

And shut my eyes to evil!



الصالحين بحلية يوحل ن

adorn me with the adornment of the righteous,

يف المتقين زينة يوألبسن

And clothe me in the ornaments of the god-fearing, through:

العدل بسط

spreading justice,

الغيظ وكظم

restraining rage,

ئرة االن ء اوإطف

quenching the flame of hate,

الفرقة أهل وضم

bringing together the people of separation,

البين ذات وإصالح

correcting discord,

العارفة ءاوإفش

spreading about good behavior,

ئبة االع وستر

covering faults,

العريكة ولين

mildness of temper,

الجناح وخفض

lowering the wing,

الس يرة وحسن

beauty of conduct,

الر يح وسكون

gravity of bearing,

المخالفة وطيب

agreeableness in comportment,

الفضيلة إلى والسبق

precedence in reaching excellence,

التفضل وإيثار

preferring bounteousness,

التعيير وترك

refraining from condemnation,

المستحق غير على واإلفضال

bestowing bounty on the undeserving,

عز وإن بالحق والقول

speaking the truth, though it be painful,

يوفعل يقول من كثر وإن الخير واستقالل

making little of the good in my words and deeds, though it be

much,

يوفعل يقول من قل وإن الشر واستكثار

And making much of the evil in my words and deeds, though it be

little!

يل ذلك وأكمل

Perfect this for me through

الطاعة، بدوام lasting obedience,

الجماعة، ولزوم holding fast to the community,

المخترع الرأي يومستعمل البدع، أهل ورفض

And rejecting the people of innovation and those who act in

accordance with original opinions.



كبرت، إذا علي رزقك أوسع واجعل appoint for me Your widest provision in my old age

نصبت إذا في قوتك وأقوى

And Your strongest strength when I am exhausted,

عبادتك، عن بالكسل يتبتلين وال And try me not with laziness in worship of You,

سبيلك، عن العمى وال blindness toward Your path,

محبتك، لخالف بالتعرض وال undertaking what opposes love for You,

عنك، تفرق من مجامعة وال joining with him who has separated himself from You,

إليك اجتمع من مفارقة وال

And separating from him who has joined himself to You!

الضرورة، عند بك أصول ياجعلن اللهم O Allah, make me leap to You in times of distress,

الحاجة، عند وأسألك ask from You in needs,

المسكنة عند إليك وأتضرع

And plead to You in misery!

ررت،اضط إذا بغيرك ستعانةباإل يتفتن وال Tempt me not to seek help from other than You when I am

distressed,

افتقرت، إذا غيرك لسؤال بالخضوع وال to humble myself in asking from someone else when I am poor,

إذارهبت دونك من إلى بالتضرع وال

or to plead with someone less than You when I fear,

وإعراضك ومنعك خذالنك بذلك فأستحق

for then I would deserve Your abandonment, Your withholding,

and Your turning away,

الراحمين أرحم اي

O Most Merciful of the merciful!

يالتمن من يروع يف الشيطان ييلق ما جعلا اللهم

قدرتك، يف وتفكرا لعظمتك، والحسدذكرا يوالتظن

عدو ك، على وتدبيرا O Allah, make the wishing, the doubt, and the envy which Satan

throws into my heart a remembrance of Your mightiness, a

reflection upon Your power, and a devising against Your enemy!

شتم أو هجر أو فحش لفظة من لسانى على أجرى اوم

سب أو ئباغ مؤمن اغتياب أو باطل شهادة أو عرض

ذلك، أشبه ام أو حاضر Make everything he causes to pass over my tongue - the indecent

or ugly words, the maligning of good repute, the false witness, the

speaking ill of an absent man of faith, or the reviling of one

present, and all things similar—

لك، بالحمد انطق a speech in praise of You,

عليك ء االثن يف وإغراقا

a pursual of eulogizing You,

تمجيدك يف وذهابا

an excursion in magnifying You,

ل نعمتك وشكرا

a thanksgiving for Your favour,

بإحسانك واعترافا

an acknowledgment of Your beneficence,

ل مننك ءااوإحص

And an enumeration of Your kindness!



يعن ل لدفع مطيق وأنت أظلمن وال

let me not be wronged, while You canst repel from me,

يمن القبض على القادر وأنت أظلمن وال

let me not do wrong, while You are powerful over holding me

back,

يهدايت أمكنتك وقد أضلن وال

let me not be misguided, while You are able to guide me,

يوسع عندك ومن أفتقرن وال

let me not be poor, while with You is my plenty,

يوجد عندك ومن أطغين وال

let me not be insolent, while from You comes my wealth!

اللهمO Allah,

وفدت مغفرتك إلى

I come to Your forgiveness,

قصدت عفوك وإلى

I go straight to Your pardon,

اشتقت تجاوزك وإلى

I yearn for Your forbearance,

وثقت وبفضلك

And I trust in Your bounty,

مغفرتك يل يوجب ما يعند وليس

but there is nothing with me to make me warrant but Your

forgiveness,

عفوك به أستحق ام يعمل يف وال

nothing in my works to make me merit but Your pardon,

فضلك ال إ ينفس على حكمت أن بعد يل وما

And nothing on my behalf after I judge my soul but Your bounty,

وآله محمد على فصل


اللهم علي وتفضل

O Allah, bestow Your bounty upon me!

بالهدى يوأنطقن

make my speech be guidance,

الت قوى يوألهمن

inspire me with reverential fear,

أزكى يه يللت يووف قن

give me success in that which is most pure,

أرضى هو بما يواستعملن

And employ me in what is most pleasing to You!

المثلى الطريقة يب اسلك اللهم

O Allah, let me tread the most exemplary path

اوأحي أموت ملتك على يواجعلن

And make me live and die in Your creed!



قتصاد باإل يومت عن

give me to enjoy moderation,

السداد، أهل من يواجعلن make me into one of the people of right behavior,

الرشاد، أدلة ومن the proofs of right conduct,

العباد يصالح ومن

And the servants of righteousness,

المعاد، فوز يوارزقن And provide me with triumph at the place of Return

المرصاد وسالمة

And safety from the Ambush!

اللهمO Allah,

يخل صها ما ينفس من لنفسك خذ

take to Yourself from my soul what will purify it

يصلحها، ما ينفس من يلنفس وأبق And leave for my soul that of my soul that will set it right,

تعصمها أو هالكة ينفس فإن

for my soul will perish unless You preservest it!

اللهمO Allah,

حزنت إن يعدت أنت

You are my stores when I sorrow,

حرمت إن يمنتجع وأنت

You are my recourse when I am deprived,

كرثت إن ياستغاثت وبك

from You I seek aid when troubled

خلف، فات مما وعندك and with You is a substitute for everything gone by,

صالح، فسد ولما a correction for everything corrupted,

تغيير أنكرت اوفيم

a change from everything You is approvest.

بالعافية، ءالبال قبل علي فامنن So show kindness to me with well-being before affliction,

بالجدة، الطلب وقبل wealth before asking,

الرشاد ب الضالل وقبل

right conduct before misguidance;

العباد معرة مؤونة يواكفن

suffice me against the burden of shame toward the servants,

المعاد يوم أمن يل وهب

give me security on the Day of Return,

اإلرشاد حسن يوامنحن

And grant me excellent right guidance!



بلطفك يعن وادرأ

repel from me through Your gentleness,

بنعمتك يواغذن

feed me through Your favour,

بكرمك يوأصلحن

set me right through Your generosity,

بصنعك يوداون

heal me through Your benefaction,

ذراك يف يوأظلن

shade me in Your shelter,

رضاك يوجل لن

wrap me in Your good pleasure,

ألهداها، األمور علي اشتكلت إذا يووف قن And give me success to reach the most guided of affairs when

affairs confuse me,

ألزكاها األعمال تشابهت وإذا

the purest of works when works seem similar,

ألرضاها الملل تناقضت وإذا

and the most pleasing to You of creeds when creeds conflict!



بالكفاية يوتو جن

crown me with sufficiency,

الوالية حسن يوسمن

place in me excellent guardianship

الهداية دقص يل وهب

give me to guide correctly ,

بالسعة يتفتن وال

tempt me not with plenty,

الدعة حسن يوامنحن

grant me excellent ease,

كدا كدا يعيش تجعل وال

make not my life toil and trouble,

ردا علي يئ ادع ترد وال

And refuse not my supplication in rejection,

ضدا لك أجعل ال يفإن

for I make none rival to You

ندا معك أدعو وال

And I supplicate none with You as equal!



السرف من يوامنعن

hold me back from prodigality,

التلف من ير زق وحص ن

fortify my provision against ruin,

فيه بالبركة يملكت ووف ر

increase my possessions through blessing them,

منه أنفق فيما للبر الهداية سبيل يب وأصب

And set me upon the path of guidance through piety in what I

spend!



كتساب،اإل مؤونة يواكفن And spare me the burden of earning,

احتساب غير من يوارزقن

provide for me without reckoning,

بالطلب، عبادتك عن أشتغل فال lest I be distracted from Your worship through seeking

المكسب تبعات إصر أحتمل وال

And carry the load of earning's ill results!

اللهمO Allah,

أطلب ام بقدرتك يفأطلبن

bestow upon me what I seek through Your power

أرهب امم بعزتك يوأجرن

And grant me sanctuary from what I fear through Your might!



باليسار، يوجه وصن save my face through ease,

باإلقتار يجاه تبتذل وال

And demean not my dignity through neediness,

رزقك، أهل فأسترزق lest I seek provision from those whom You hast provided

خلقك شرار يوأستعط

And ask for bestowal from the worst of Your creatures!

أعطاني، من بحمد فأفتتن And Then I would be tried by praising him who gave to me

يمنعن من بذم يوأبتل

afflicted with blaming him who held back from me,

والمنع ء ااإلعط ولي دونهم من وأنت

While You— not they— art patron of giving and holding back



عبادة، يف صحة يوارزقن And provide me with soundness in worship,

زهادة، يف وفراغا detachment in renunciation,

استعمال، يف وعلما knowledge put into action,

إجمال يف وورعا

And abstinence in measure!

يأجل بعفوك اختم اللهم

O Allah, seal my term with Your pardon,

يأمل رحمتك ءارج يف وحق ق

verify my expectation in hoping for thy mercy,

يسبل رضاك بلوغ إلى وسه ل

smooth my paths to reach Your good pleasure,

يعمل يأحوال جميع يف وحس ن

And make my works good in all my states!



الغفلة أوقات يف لذكرك يونب هن

Incite me to remember You in times of heedlessness,

المهلة أيام يف اعتك بط يواستعملن

employ me in Your obedience in days of disregard,

سهلة سبيال محبتك إلى يل وانهج

open a smooth road for me to Your love,

واآلخرة الدنيا خير بها يل أكمل

And complete for me thereby the good of this world and the next!

أحد على صليت ما كأفضل وآله محمد على صل اللهم

بعده أحد على مصل وأنت قبله خلقك م ن

O Allah, and bless Muhammad and his Household the best You

hast blessed any of Your creatures before him and wilt bless any of

them after him,

حسنة اآلخرة يوف حسنة الدنيا يف وآتنا

And give to us in this world good, and in the next world good,

النار عذاب برحمتك يوقن

And protect me through Your mercy from the chastisement of the

Fire!

يسير عليك وهو قدير، شيء كل على إنك

You are powerful over everything, and that is easy for You!

Munajat Taibeen

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

لبستني ٱلخطايا ثوب مذلتيإلهي ا

My God, offenses have clothed me in the garment of my lowliness,

وجللني ٱلتباعد منك لباس مسكنتي

separation from You has wrapped me in the clothing of my

misery!

مات قلبي عظيم جنايتيوا

My dreadful crimes have deadened my heart,

حيه بتوبة منك فا

so bring it to life by a repentance from You!

ملي وبغيتييا ا

O my hope and my aim!

ويا سؤلي ومنيتي

O my wish and my want!

جد لذنوبي سواك غافراك ما افوعزت

By Your might, I find no one but You to forgive my sins

رى لكسري غيرك جابراا الو

and I see none but You to mend my brokenness!

وقد خضعت بٱإلنابة إليك

I have subjected myself to You in repeated turning,

وعنوت بٱالستكانة لديك

I have humbled myself to You in abasement.

لوذفإن طردتني من بابك فبمن ا

If You cast me out from Your door, in whom shall I take shelter?

عوذ فبمن اوإن رددتني عن جنابك

If You repel me from Your side, in whom shall I seek refuge?

سفاه من خجلتي وٱفتضاحيفوا ا

O my grief at my ignominy and disgrace!

ووا لهفاه من سوء عملي وٱجتراحي

O my sorrow at my evil works and what I have committed!

لك يا غافر ٱلذنب ٱلكبير ساا

I ask You, O Forgiver of great sins,

ويا جابر ٱلعظم ٱلكسير

O Mender of broken bones,

ن تهب لي موبقات ٱلجرائر ا

to overlook my ruinous misdeeds

لسرائروتستر علي فاضحات ٱ

and cover my disgraceful secret thoughts!

تخلني في مشهد ٱلقيامة الو

At the witnessing place of the Resurrection, empty me not

من برد عفوك وغفرك

of the coolness of Your pardon and forgiveness,

ميل صفحك وستركوال تعرني من ج

and strip me not of Your beautiful forbearance and covering!

إلهي ظل ل على ذنوبي غمام رحمتك

My God, let the cloud of Your mercy cast its shadow upon my sins

فتك رسل على عيوبي سحاب راوا

and send the billow of Your clemency flowing over my faults!

إلهي هل يرجع ٱلعبد ٱآلبق إال إلى مواله

My God, Does the runaway servant go back but to His master?

حد سواه م هل يجيره من سخطه اا

Or does anyone grant sanctuary to him from His anger but He?

إلهي إن كان الندم على ٱلذنب توبة

My God, if remorse for sins is repentance,

فإن ي وعزتك من ٱلنادمين

I—by Your might—am one of the remorseful!

ة حطة وإن كان ٱالستغفار من ٱلخطيئ

If praying forgiveness for offenses is alleviation,

فإن ي لك من ٱلمستغفرين

I am one of those who pray forgiveness!

لك ٱلعتبى حتى ترضى

You have all right to admonish me until You may be well pleased!

تك علي تب علي إلهي بقدر

My God, through Your power over me, turn toward me,

وبحلمك عن ي ٱعف عن ي

through Your clemency toward me, pardon me,

وبعلمك بي إرفق بي

and through Your knowledge of me, be gentle toward me!

لذي فتحت لعبادك بابا إلى عفوك نت ٱإلهي ا

My God, You are He who has opened a door to Your pardon

سميته ٱلتوبة فقلت:

and named it 'repentance'; so, You said,

)توبوا إلى ٱلله توبة نصوحا(

“Repent to Allah with unswerving repentance.”

غفل دخول ٱلباب بعد فتحه فما عذر من ا

What is the excuse of him who remains heedless of entering the

door after its opening?

إلهي إن كان قبح الذنب من عبدك

My God, it is true that the sins of Your servant are ugly;

فليحسن ٱلعفو من عندك

But, let Your pardon be beautiful.

ول من عصاك فتبت عليه نا باإلهي ما ا

My God, I am not the first to have disobeyed You, and You turned

toward him with pardon,

روفك فجدت عليهوتعرض لمع

or to have sought to attain Your favor, and You were munificent

toward him.

يا مجيب ٱلمضطر

O Responder to the distressed!

يا كاشف ٱلضر

O Remover of injury!

يا عظيم ٱلبر

O Great in goodness!

ما في ٱلس ر يا عليما ب

O Knower of everything secret!

يا جميل ٱلس تر

O Beautiful through covering over!

إستشفعت بجودك وكرمك إليك

I seek Your munificence and Your generosity to intercede with

You,

لديك وتوسلت بجنابك وترحمك

I seek Your side and Your showing mercy to mediate with You,

فٱستجب دعائي

So, grant my supplication,

تخي ب فيك رجائي الو

disappoint not my hope in You,

وتقبل توبتي

accept my repentance,

وكف ر خطيئتي

and overlook my offense,

بمن ك ورحمتك

through Your kindness and mercy,

رحم ٱلراحمينيا ا

O Most Merciful of the merciful!

Dua' al-Tawbah



الواصفين نعت يصفه ال من يا اللهم

O Allah, O He whom the depiction of the describers fails to

describe!

الراجين رجاء يجاوزه ال من ويا

O He beyond whom passes not the hope of the hopers!

المحسنين أجر لديه يضيع ال من ويا

O He with whom is not lost the wage of the good-doers!

العابدين خوف منتهى هو من ويا

O He who is the ultimate object of the fear of the worshipers!

المتقين خشية غاية هو من ويا

O He who is the utmost limit of the dread of the god-fearing!

الذنوب، يأيد تداولته من مقام هذا This is the station of him whom sins have passed from hand to

hand.

الخطايا، أزمة وقادته Offenses' reins have led him on,

الشيطان عليه واستحوذ

And Satan has gained mastery over him.

تفريطا، به أمرت عما فقصر He fell short of what You are commanded through neglect

تعزيرا، عنه نهيت ما وتعاطى And he pursued what You are prohibited in delusion,

عليه، كبقدرت كالجاهل like one ignorant of Your power over him,

إليه إحسانك فضل كالمنكر أو

or one who denies the bounty of Your beneficence toward him,

الهدي، بصر له انفتح إذا حتى until, when the eye of guidance was opened for him

العمي، سحائب عنه وتقشعت And the clouds of blindness were dispelled,

نفسه، به ظلم ما أحصى he reckoned that through which he had wronged himself

ربه فيه خالف فيما وفكر

And reflected upon that in which he had opposed his Lord.

كبيرا، عصيانه كبير فرأى He saw his vast disobedience as vast

جليال مخالفته وجليل

And his great opposition as great.

لك، مؤم ال نحوك فأقبل So he turned to You, hoping in You

م نك، مستحييا And ashamed before You,

بك، ثقة إليك رغبته ووجه and he directed his beseeching toward You, having trust in You.

يقينا، بطبعه فأمك He repaired to You in his longing with certitude

إخالصا، بخوفه وقصدك And he went straight to You in fear with sincerity.

غيرك، فيه مطموع كل من طمعه خال قد His longing was devoid of every object of longing but You,

سواك م نه محذور كل من روعه وأفرج

And his fright departed from every object of fear but You.

متضر عا، يديك بين فمثل So, he stood before You pleading,

متخش عا، األرض إلى بصره وغمض his eyes turned toward the ground in humbleness,

متذل ال لعزتك رأسه وطأطأ

his head bowed before Your might in lowliness;

خضوعا منه به أعلم أنت ما سر ه من وأبثك

he revealed to You in meekness those secrets of his which You

knowest better than he;

خشوعا لها أحصى أنت ما ذنوبه من وعدد

he numbered for You in humility those sins of his which You

countest better than he;

من بك واستغاث

he sought help from You

علمك، يف به وقع ما عظيم before the dreadful into which he has fallen in Your knowledge,

حكمك، يف فضحه ما وقبيح and the ugly which has disgraced him in Your judgment: the sins

فذهبت، لذاتها أدبرت ذنوب من whose pleasures have turned their backs and gone

فلزمت تبعاتها وأقامت

and whose evil consequences have stayed and stuck fast.

عاقبته، إن عدلك يإله اي ينكر ال He will not deny Your justice, My God, if You punishest him,

ورحمته عنه عفوت إن عنه عفوك يستعصم وال

nor will he consider Your pardon great if You pardonest him and

hast mercy upon him,

الذنب غفران يتعاظمه ال يالذ الكريم الرب ألنك

العظيمfor You are the Generous Lord for whom the forgiveness of great

sins is nothing great!

ذا أنا فها اللهم

O Allah, so here I am:

ألمرك، مطيعا جئتك قد I have come to You obeying Your command

الدعاء، من به أمرت فيما for You commanded supplication

:تقول إذ اإلجابة، من به وعدت فيما وعدك متنج زا And asking the fulfillment of Your promise, for You are promised

to respond. You are said:

(لكم أستجب يادعون) “Supplicate Me and I will respond to you.”

وآله محمد على فصل اللهم

O Allah, so bless Muhammad and his Household

يبإقرار لقيتك كما بمغفرتك يوالقن

meet me with Your forgiveness just as I have met You with my

confession,

ينفس لك وضعت كما الذنوب مصارع عن يوارفعن

lift me up from the fatal infirmities of sins just as I have let myself

down before You,

يمن نتقام اإل عن يتأنيتن كما بسترك يواسترن

And cover me with Your covering just as You are shown no haste

to take vengeance on me!

ينيت طاعتك يف اللهم وثب ت

O Allah, make firm my intention to obey You,

يبصيرت عبادتك يف وأحكم

strengthen my insight in worshiping You,

يعن الخطايا دنس به تغسل ما األعمال إلى يووف قن

give me the success of works which will wash away the defilement

of offenses,

إذا السالم عليه محمد نبي ك وملة ملتك على يوتوفن

يتوفيتن

and take me when You takest me in the creed of Your prophet

Muhammad (upon him be peace).

من هذا يمقام يف إليك أتوب ياللهم إن

O Allah, I repent to You in this my station from

وصغائرها، يذنوب كبائر my sins, great and small,

وظواهرها، يسي ئات وبواطن my evil deeds, inward and outward,

وحوادثها يتزال وسوالف

my lapses, past and recent,

بمعصية، نفسه يحد ث ال من توبة with the repentance of one who does not tell himself that he might

disobey or

خطيئة يف يعود أن يضمر وال

secretly think that he might return to an offense.

كتابك محكم يف يإله يا قلت وقد

You are said, My God, in the firm text of Your Book, that

عبادك عن التوبة تقبل إنك

You acceptest repentance from Your servants,

السي ئات عن وتعفو

pardonest evil deeds,

التوابين وتحب

And lovest the repenters,

وعدت كما يتوبت فاقبل

so accept my repentance as You are promised,

ضمنت كما يسي ئات عن اعفو

pardon my evil deeds as You are guaranteed,

شرطت كما محبتك يل وأوجب

And make obligatory toward me Your love as You are stipulated!

رب يا ولك

To You, my Lord, belongs

مكروهك يف أعود ال يشرط

my stipulation that I will not return to what is disliked by You,

مذمومك يف أرجع ال يوضمان

my guarantee that I will not go back to what You blamest,

معاصيك جميع أهجر أن يوعهد

And my covenant that I will stay away from acts of disobedience

to You.

عملت بما أعلم إنك اللهم

O Allah, You knowest better what I have done,

علمت ما يل فاغفر

so forgive me what You knowest

أحببت ما إلى بقدرتك يواصرفن

And turn me through Your power to what You lovest!

حفظتهن، قد تبعات اللهم وعلي O Allah, counted against me are claims that stay in my memory

نسيتهن، قد وتبعات and claims that I have forgotten,

تنام، ال يالت بعينك وكلهن while all of them remain in Your eye that does not sleep

ينسى ال يالذ وعلمك

and Your knowledge that does not forget!

يعن وخف ف وزرها، يعن واحطط أهلها، منها فعو ض

مثلها أقارف أن من يواعصمن ثقلها،

So, compensate their owners, lighten their load upon me, lift up

their weight from me, and preserve me from approaching their

like!

بعصمتك، إال بالتوبة يل وفاء ال وإنه اللهم O Allah, but I can not be faithful to my repentance without Your

preservation,

قوتك عن إال الخطايا عن يب استمساك وال

nor can I refrain from offenses without Your strength.

كافية بقوة يفقو ن

So strengthen me with a sufficient strength

مانعة بعصمة يوتولن

And attend to me with a defending preservation!

إليك تاب عبد أيما اللهم O Allah, if any servant repents to You,

ل توبته، فاسخ عندك الغيب علم يف وهو while in Your knowledge of the Unseen he will break his

repentance

وخطيئته ذنبه يف ائد وع

and return to his sin and offense,

كذلك أكون أن بك أعوذ يفإن

I seek refuge in You lest I be like that!

توبة، إلى بعدها أحتاج ال هذه يتوبت فاجعل So make this my repentance, a repentance after which I will need

no repentance,

ي بق فيما والسالمة سلف ما ل محو موجبة توبة

and a repentance which will obligate the erasing of what has gone

by and safety in what remains!

يجهل نم إليك أعتذر ياللهم إن

O Allah, I ask pardon from You for my ignorance,

يفعل سوء وأستوهبك

And I ask You to disregard my evil acts!

تطوال رحمتك كنف إلى يفاضممن

So join me to the shelter of Your mercy through graciousness

تفضال عافيتك بستر يواسترن

And cover me with the covering of Your well-being through

bounteousness!

إرادتك، خالف ما كل من إليك أتوب ياللهم وإن O Allah, I repent to You from everything opposed to Your will

حبتك،م عن زال أو or far from Your love

قلبي، خطرات من —the thoughts of my heart,

عيني، ولحظات the glances of my eye,

لساني، وحكايات the tales of my tongue with

تبعاتك من حيالها على جارحة كل بها تسلم توبة

a repentance through which each bodily part will by itself stay safe

from ill consequences with You

سطواتك أليم من المعتدون يخاف مما وتأمن

and remain secure from Your painful penalties feared by

transgressors!

يديك، بين يوحدت فارحم اللهم O Allah, so have mercy on my being alone before You,

خشيتك من يقلب ووجيب

the pounding of my heart in dread of You,

هيبتك من يأركان واضطراب

the trembling of my limbs in awe of You!

بفنائك، الخزي مقام يذنوب رب يا يأقامتن فقد My sins, My God, have stood me in the station of degradation in

Your courtyard.

أحد، يعن ينطق لم سكت فإن If I remain silent, none will speak for me;

الشفاعة بأهل فلست شفعت وإن

if I seek an intercessor, I am not worthy for intercession.



كرمك ي خطايا يف وشف ع

make Your generosity intercede for my offenses,

بعفوك يسي ئات لىع وعد

follow up my evil deeds with Your pardon,

عقوبتك من يجزائ يتجزن وال

repay me not with the punishment that is my proper repayment,

طولك علي وابسط

spread over me Your graciousness,

بسترك يوجل لن

wrap me in Your covering,

فرحمه، ذليل عبد إليه تضرع عزيز فعل يب وافعل And do with me what is done by a mighty man, when a lowly slave

pleads to him and he shows him mercy,

فنعشه فقير عبد له تعرض غني أو

or a rich man when a poor slave submits himself and he raises

him to wealth!

عزك يفليخفرن منك يل خفير ال اللهم

O Allah, I have no protector against You, so let Your might be my

protector!

فضلك يل فليشفع إليك يل شفيع وال

I have no intercessor with You, so let Your bounty be my

intercessor!

عفوك يفليؤمن يخطايا يأوجلتن وقد

My offenses have set me quaking, so let Your pardon give me

security!

أثري، بسوء يم ن جهل عن به نطقت ما كل فما Not all that I have said rises up from my ignorance of my evil

footsteps

يفعل ذميم من سبق ل ما نسيان وال

or forgetfulness of my blameworthy acts in the past,

فيها ومن سماؤك ل تسمع لكن

but in order that Your heaven and those within it

عليها ومن وأرضك

And Your earth and those upon it

الندم، من لك أظهرت ما may hear the remorse which I have professed to You

التوبة من فيه إليك ولجأت

and the repentance through which I have sought asylum with You.

موقفي، سوء من ييرحمن برحمتك بعضهم فلعل Then perhaps one of them, through Your mercy, may show mercy

upon my evil situation

حالي، بسوء علي الر قة تدركه أو or be seized by tenderness for my evil state.

دعائي، من لديك أسمع ي ه بدعوة منه يفينالن There may come from him for my sake a supplication to which

You give ear more than to my supplication

شفاعتي، من عندك أوكد أوشفاعة or an intercession surer with You than my intercession

غضبك، من ينجات بها تكون through which I may be delivered from Your wrath

برضاك يوفوز

and attain to Your good pleasure!

النادمين أندم فأنا إليك توبة الندم يكن اللهم إن

O Allah, if remorse is a repentance toward You, then I am the

most remorseful of the remorseful!

المنيبين أول فأنا إنابة لمعصيتك الترك يكن وإن

If refraining from disobedience is a turning back to You, then I am

the first of those who turn back!

من لك يفإن ل لذنوب حطة ستغفاراإل يكن وإن

المستغفرينIf praying for forgiveness alleviates sins, surely I am one of those

who pray for Your forgiveness!

القبول وضمنت توبةبال أمرت اللهم فكما

O Allah, as You are commanded repentance and guaranteed

acceptance,

اإلجابة ووعدت الدعاء على وحثثت

as You are urged supplication, and promised to respond,

محمد وآل محمد على فصل

so also bless Muhammad and his Household,

رحمتك من الخيبة مرجع يترجعن وال يتوبت واقبل

accept my repentance, and return me not to the returning place of

disappointment in Your mercy

المذنبين، على التواب أنت إنك Surely, You are Ever-turning toward the sinners,

المنيبين للخاطئين والرحيم

All-compassionate toward the offenders who turn back!

به هديتنا كما محمد وآل محمد على صل اللهم

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household just as You are

guided us by him!

به استنقذتنا كما وآله محمد على وصل

Bless Muhammad and his Household just as You are rescued us

through him!

يوم لنا تشفع صالة محمد وآل محمد على وصل

إليك الفاقة م ويو القيامة

Bless Muhammad and his Household with a blessing that will

intercede for us on the Day of Resurrection, the day of neediness

toward You!

يسير عليك وهو قدير، شيء كل على إنك

You are powerful over everything, and that is easy for You.

Dua Aafiya

اللهم صل على محمد و اله


و البسنى عافيتك

clothe me in Thy well-being,

و جللنى عافيتك

wrap me in Thy well-being,

بعافيتك و حصنى

fortify me through Thy well-being,

و اكـرمنى بعافيتك

honour me with Thy well-being,

و اغننى بعافيتك

free me from need through Thy well-being,

و تصدق على بعافيتك

donate to me Thy well-being,

عافيتك و هب لى

bestow upon me Thy well-being,

و افرشنى عافيتك

spread out for me Thy well-being,

و اصلح لى عافيتك

set Thy well-being right for me,

و لا تغرق بينى و بين عافيتك فى الدنيا و الآخرة

and separate me not from Thy well-being in this world and the

next!

اللهم صل على محمد و اله


و عافنى

and make me well with

عافية كافية شافية عالية نامية

a well-being sufficient, healing, sublime, growing,

عافية تولد فى بدنى العافية

a well-being that will give birth to well-being in my body,

عافية الدنيا والآخرة

a well-being in this world and the next!

وامنن على

Oblige me through

حة والامن بالص

health, security,

والسلامة فى دينى و بدنى

and safety in my religion and body,

و البصيرة فى قلبى

insight in my heart,

و النفاذ فى امورى

penetration in my affairs,

و الخشية لك

dread of Thee,

و الخوف منك

fear of Thee,

و القوة على ما امرتنى به من طاعتك

strength for the obedience which Thou hast commanded for me,

و الاجتناب لما نهيتنى عنه من معصيتك

and avoidance of the disobedience which Thou hast prohibited for

me!

اللهم وامنن على

O Allah, oblige me through

بالحج و العمرة

the hajj, the umra,

و زيارة قبر رسولك صلواتك عليه و رحمتك و بركاتك

عليه و على اله و ال رسولك

and visiting the graves of Thy Messenger (Thy blessings, mercy,

and benedictions upon him and upon his Household) and the

Household of Thy Messenger (upon them be peace)

عليهم السلام ابدا ما ابقيتنى

for as long as Thou causest me to live,

فى عامى هذا و فى كل عام

in this year of mine and in every year,

واجعل ذلك

and make that

مقبولا مشكـورا

accepted, thanked, and

مذكورا لديك

mentioned before Thee

مذخورا عندك

and stored away with Thee!

و انطق بحمدك و شكرك و ذكرك و حسن الثنآء عليك

لسانى

Make my tongue utter Thy praise, Thy thanksgiving, Thy

remembrance, and Thy excellent laudation,

واشرح لمراشد دينك قلبى

and expand my heart toward the right goals of Thy religion!

و اعذنى و ذريتى

Give me and my progeny refuge from

من الشيطن الرجيم

the accursed Satan,

ومن شر السآمة و الهآمة و العآمة و اللآمة

the evil of venomous vermin, threatening pests, swarming crowds,

and evil eyes,

و من شر كل شيطان مريد

the evil of every rebel Satan,

و من شركل سلطان عنيد

the evil of every refractory sovereign,

و من شركل مترف حفيد

the evil of everyone living in ease and served,

و من شركل ضعيف و شديد

the evil of everyone weak or strong,

و من شر كل شريف و وضيع

the evil of everyone born high or low,

و من شركل صغير و كبير

the evil of everyone small or great,

من شر كل قريب و بعيد و

the evil of everyone near or far,

و من شر كل من نصب لرسولك و لاهل بيته حربا من

الجن و الانس

the evil of everyone, jinn or man, who declares war on Thy

Messenger and his Household,

و من شر كل دآبة انت اخذ بناصيتها

and the evil of every crawling creature that Thou hast taken by the

forelock!

انك على صراط مستقيم

Surely Thou art on a straight path.

اله اللهم صل على محمد و


و من ارادنى بسو ء فاصرفه عنى

and if someone desires ill for me turn him away from me,

وادحر عنى مكره

drive away from me his deception,

وادرا عنى شره

avert from me his evil,

فى نحره و رد كيده

send his trickery back to his own throat,

واجعل بين يديه سدا حتى

and place before him a barricade, so that Thou mayest

تعمى عنى بصره

blind his eyes toward me,

حهو تصم عن ذكرى سم

deafen his ears toward my mention,

و تقفل دون اخطارى قلبه

lock his heart toward recalling me,

و تخرس عنى لسانه

silence his tongue against me,

و تقمع راسه

restrain his head,

و تذل عزه

abase his exaltation,

تكـسر جبروته و

break his arrogance,

و تذل رقبته

abase his neck,

و تفسخ كـبـره

disjoint his pride,

و تؤمننى من جميع

and make me secure from all

ضره و شره

his injury, his evil,

لمزه و غمزه و همزه و

his slander, his backbiting, his faultfinding,

و حسده و عداوته

his envy, his enmity,

و حبآئله و مصآئده

his snares, his traps,

و رجله و خيله

his foot soldiers, and his cavalry!

.انك عزيز قدير

Surely Thou art Mighty, Powerful!

Munajaat Imam Ali

مان الٱلك سااللهم إن ي اO Allah, I beseech You for security

بنون ينفع مال وال يوم الon the day when neither wealth nor sons will avail

سليم لله بقلب ٱتى من ا إالexcept him who comes to Allah with a heart free from evil.

لظالم على يديهٱ مان يوم يعض الٱلك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day when the wrongdoer

gnaws his hands,

سول سبيال لرٱخذت مع تٱيقول يا ليتني saying: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the

Messenger of Allah.

لمجرمون بسيماهم ٱمان يوم يعرف الٱلك سااوAnd I beseech You for security on the day when the guilty shall be

recognized by their marks;

قدام الٱواصي ولنٱفيؤخذ ب

so, they shall be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

يجزي والد عن ولده مان يوم ال الٱلك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day when a father shall not

make any satisfaction for his son

وال مولود هو جاز عن والده شيئاnor shall the child be the maker of any satisfaction for his father.

لله حقٱوعد إنSurely, the promise of Allah is true.

معذرتهملظالمين ٱينفع مان يوم ال الٱلك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day on which their excuse

shall not benefit the unjust

لدارٱعنة ولهم سوء للٱولهم and for them is curse and for them is the evil abode.

لنفس شيئا تملك نفس مان يوم ال الٱلك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day when no soul shall

control anything for another soul

مر يومئذ للهالٱوand the command on that day shall be entirely Allah’s.

خيه لمرء من اٱ مان يوم يفر الٱلك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day when a man shall fly

from his brother,

بيه ه وام اوhis mother, his father,

وصاحبته وبنيهhis wife, and his children.

ن يغنيه امنهم يومئذ ش ئمرٱ لكل Every person of them shall on that day have an affair, which will

occupy him.

لمجرم ٱ مان يوم يود الٱ لك ساواAnd I beseech You for security on the day when the guilty one

ئذ ببنيه لو يفتدي من عذاب يومwill fain redeem himself from the chastisement of that day by

sacrificing his children,

خيهوصاحبته واhis wife, his brother,

تي تؤويه لٱوفصيلته the nearest of his kinsfolk who gave him shelter,

ينجيه رض جميعا ثم الٱومن في and all those that are in the earth, wishing then that this might

deliver him.

ها لظى إن كالBy no means! Surely, it is a flaming fire,

وى نزاعة للش sagging by the head.

يي يا موال موالO Master! O my Master!

لعبد ٱنا لمولى واٱنت اYou are the master and I am the slave;

لمولى ٱ لعبد إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a slave except the master?

موالي يا مواليO Master! O my Master!

لمملوكٱنا لمالك واٱنت اYou are the Lord and I am the servant;

لمالكٱ لمملوك إالٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a servant except the lord?


ليل لذٱنا لعزيز واٱنت اYou are the Almighty and I am the humble;

لعزيزٱال ليل إلذ ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon the humble except the Almighty?


لمخلوق ٱنا لخالق واٱنت اYou are the Creator and I am the created being;

لخالقٱلمخلوق إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a created being except the Creator?


لحقير ٱنا لعظيم واٱنت اYou are the All-great and I am the trivial;

لعظيمٱلحقير إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon the trivial except the All-great?


عيف لضٱنا وا لقويٱنت اYou are the All-powerful and I am the weak;

لقويٱعيف إال لضٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon the weak except the All-powerful?


لفقيرٱنا وا لغنيٱنت اYou are the All-wealthy and I am the needy;

لغني ٱلفقير إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon the needy except the All-wealthy?


لسائل ٱنا لمعطي واٱنت اYou are the Donor and I am the beggar;

لمعطيٱلسائل إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a beggar except the Donor?

يموالي يا موال O Master! O my Master!

تلمي ٱنا وا لحي ٱنت اYou are the Ever-living and I am the mortal;

لحي ٱت إال لمي ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a mortal except the Ever-living?


لفانيٱنا لباقي واٱنت اYou are the Everlasting and I am the evanescent;

لباقيٱلفاني إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon an evanescent being except the

Everlasting?


لزائلٱنا لدائم واٱنت اYou are the Eternal and I am the perishable;

لدائم ٱلزائل إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a perishable being except the

Eternal?


لمرزوق ٱنا والرازقٱنت اYou are the Provider of sustenance and I am the sustained;

لرازق ٱلمرزوق إال ٱوهل يرحم

and who can have mercy upon a sustained being except the

Provider of sustenance?


لبخيل ٱنا لجواد واٱنت اYou are the All-magnanimous and I am the miser;

لجوادٱلبخيل إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a miser except the All-

magnanimous?


لمبتلى ٱنا افي والمعٱنت اYou are the Healer and I am the subject to diseases;

لمعافيٱلمبتلى إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon the sick except the Healer?


غير لصٱنا لكبير واٱنت اYou are the All-big and I am the tiny;

لكبيرٱغير إال لصٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a tiny being except the All-big

(Lord)?


لضال ٱنا لهادي واٱنت اYou are the Guide and I am lost;

لهاديٱإال لضالٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a lost one except the Guide?


لمرحوم ٱ نان واحملرٱنت اYou are the All-beneficent and I am the object of Your mercy;

نحملرٱلمرحوم إال ٱوهل يرحم

and who can have mercy upon the needy for mercy except the All-

beneficent?


لممتحن ٱنا لطان والسٱنت اYou are the Superintendent and I am the tested;

لطان لسٱلممتحن إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a tested except the

Superintendent?


رلمتحي ٱنا ليل والدٱنت اYou are the Director and I am the perplexed;

ليللد ٱر إاللمتحي ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a perplexed one except the

director?


لمذنبٱنا لغفور واٱنت اYou are the All-forgiver and I am the sinful;

لغفورٱلمذنب إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a sinful except the All-forgiver?


لمغلوبٱنا لغالب واٱنت اYou are the Dominant and I am the overcome;

لغالبٱلمغلوب إال ٱحم وهل يرand who can have mercy upon an overcome one except the

Dominant?


لمربوب ٱنا وا بلرٱنت اYou are the Raiser and I am the raised;

ب لرٱلمربوب إال ٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a raised one except the Raiser?


لخاشع ٱنا ر والمتكب ٱ نتاYou are the All-superb and I am the subservient;

ر لمتكب ٱ لخاشع إالٱوهل يرحم and who can have mercy upon a subservient except the All-

superb?


رحمني برحمتك إ(Please do) encompass me with Your mercy

ي بجودكرض عن ٱوand be pleased with me out of Your magnanimity,

وكرمك وفضلكnobility, and favoring.

حسان إلٱلجود وٱ ذا ياO Lord of magnanimity, benediction,

متنانٱلٱول ولطٱوconferral of bliss, and blessing,

لراحمين ٱرحم ا برحمتك ياin the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show

mercy!
