Jennifer Simpson is the

chair of the Environmental

Committee.

She is the co-founder of

Simpson Furones Interna-

tional and a member of the

American Society of Inte-

rior Designers.

She has been a professional

designer for over 30 years,

working primarily on large-

scale projects. A third-

generation designer, she has

worked in Saudi Arabia,

Africa, Asia and the Pacific

Islands.

She is also a member of the

Colorado Chapter of the

U.S Green Building Coun-

cil and is in the process of

obtaining her LEED AP

certification (Leadership in

Energy and Environmental

Design Professional Ac-

creditation).

HUMOR TIME

A good chess player

A man went to visit a

friend and was amazed to

find him playing chess

with his dog. He watched

the game in astonishment

for a while. "I can hardly

believe my eyes!" he ex-

claimed. "That's the

smartest dog I've ever

seen." mmmmmmmmmm

"Nah, he's not so smart,"

the friend replied. "I've

beaten him three games

out of five."

Environmental Committee

The AmCham Environ-

mental Committee invited

Ms. JuliAnne Murphy,

Marketing Director of

Panamá Pacífico to its

May monthly meeting.

Twenty-four people came

to hear about the topic “A

new city is born in the old

Howard”.

ODHC Committee

The ODHC committee

met on May 21 to hear

the presentation from

María Teresa Mendoza

about “New General

Regulations for Preven-

tion of Labor & Profes-

sional Risks, hygiene and

Security in the Work-

place.”

AmCham Director of Communications visits US

Last month María Floren-

cia Suárez, AmCham Di-

rector of Communications

and Membership Support,

visited the US state of

Colorado as a Goodwill

Ambassador under a schol-

arship from the Rotary

International Foundation

and the sponsorship of the

Panama South Rotary Club.

Ms Suárez traveled with

two other young profes-

sionals from Panama and

visited different business

and rotary clubs in Boul-

der, Northglenn/Thornton,

Denver Tech, Littleton,

Summit County, Castle

Rock and Colorado

Springs. While there, they

made twenty vocational

visits, offered twelve lec-

tures about Panama and

doing business in Panama,

and talked about the activi-

ties that each performs in

her daily work, all in Eng-

lish!

The Rotary Foundation

Scholarship covered travel

expenses, while Rotary

members in each city pro-

vided food and lodging.
