“TOGETHER we, RESPECT ourselves, each other, school and community, strive for EXCELLENCE, show COURAGE in

all situations and demonstrate SAFTEY in all that we do”

Over the school holiday period I ask that parents assist us by reinforcing with students that they cannot come around school buildings after hours or on holidays. I am happy for students and the community to use the basket-ball courts and oval, however, the undercover area and around rooms is out of bounds. This ensures that our grounds are respected and no damage is done to either the buildings or students, when there is no one available to assist. Over the holidays the office will be open for uniforms and new enrolments during the following days (Thursday 16th July 9am to 2pm, Friday 17th July 9am to 2pm and Monday 20th July 11.30 – 3.30pm). Please make an appointment for new enrolments on 89876366. I wish everyone a safe and relaxing school holiday break. I look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday 21st July, 2015.

MS1 Cave Painting Excursion

We didn’t know what to expect…soon we were flying over the rocks. I was at the

front of the pack, trying to get there as fast as I could because I was so eager to

see the paintings for the first time… I was surprised they were on the ceilings and

not on the walls. Tallis

We learnt how the paintings came to be and how to be respectful of the place. We

also drew some of the cave paintings that inspired us. Sharmeka

The paintings were amazing! The designs were basic but gave an impressive ef-

fect. Caitlyn

The paintings were awesome and we sketched them in our art book. Sean

The ranger told us the story about the paintings. Shanobi

It was fun at the cave paintings. Mitchell

MS1 Cave Painting Excursion

In the troopy there was a lot of singing, which wasn’t bad, except for ….. who was

singing like a cat dying. Jarred

It was exhausting climbing up the very rocky terrain….I felt exhilarated jumping

across rocks. Mason

I felt privileged to have seen these paintings. Jarrod

Ranger Jennifer told us about the paintings and why they were so special. Aliyah

We were asked to be quiet because it is a sacred place and we had to respect it

because the spirits were watching us. Flynn

The car trip to the caves was wild…there was music flowing through the car and

my bones rattled with enjoyment on the bumpy roads… I was glad to leave with

more knowledge about the cave paintings. Nicole

CRAZY HAIR DAY

Last Friday SRC held a Crazy Hair Day to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The day

was well supported and it was fantastic to see so many crazy hair styles and lots of colour.

During lunch there was a free disco on offer, which was thoroughly enjoyed by those that attended.

The amount raised to be donated to the Cystic

Fibrosis foundation was $308-60.

Thank you to all the parents and students for supporting crazy hair day.
