Welcome to the Alumni-Network

Alumni Ulm offers a variety of activities that facilitate alumni contact and encourage the mutual sharing of experiences.

The Alumni-Network of Ulm University is the service and contact platform for everyone with a prior connection to the University – for former students, graduates and university affiliates, as well as friends and supporters of the University.The Alumni-Network of Ulm University makes it possible for all alumni to actively stay in contact with their university. To serve this purpose we offer, among other things, platforms for contact, information and advice, as well as opportunities for continuing education.

Our goal for Alumni Ulm is, the Alumni-Network of Ulm University to be of use to all former students, staff and guest scientists, as well as to the University itself.

We plan to achieve this by:• developing a network for alumni,• including alumni, with their knowledge and experience, in the

strategic development of Ulm University,• assisting in tasks which can’t be covered by the government.

Every form of material and non-material support for the Alumni-Network of Ulm University is most welcome. If you have comments or suggestions, please contact the alumni and career service office (alumni@uni-ulm.de).

The University’s Alumni-Network works on two levels:

The University Society of Ulm University (UUG)

The University Society of Ulm University helps to ensure development and continued growth at Ulm University. It especially promotes research activities, teaching activi-ties and international cooperation. It maintains contact between the University and the local public, the political sector and the economy. In addition, the University Society supports the student body and is the official alumni organisation of the University.

The FIN Club – Friends of Computer Science

The purpose of the FIN Club is to connect future, current and former students, staff, lecturers and people interested in the field of computer science.

The FIN Club works closely with the computer science faculty, assisting them with first seme-ster student orientation as well as other events which improve contact between instructors and students within the department of computer science.

Our aim in the area of alumni work is to achieve very close contact between the alumni and the faculty, including the sharing of experiences and information.

To this end, the alumni are invited to annual faculty meetings, among other events.In order to demonstrate the club’s communal atmosphere, the idea is to offer a platform for computer science students and alumni on which they can organise and carry out projects and other activities.

Studium und Praxis e.V.

The Studium und Praxis club has been around since 1987. It is a club for students, graduates and postgraduates of Ulm University, which provides a comprehensive connection between university education and professional practice.

Our aim is to foster the mutual exchange between students and graduates of Ulm University and business and professional communities. We strive to deepen this sort of contact as well as contribute to the continuing education of our members.To accomplish this, we hold numerous interesting, top-class seminars, talks and workshops every semester, in cooperation with the businesses in our group of sponsors. These events attract a multitude of enthusiastic participants.

Another central aspect of our work is the organisation of the WiMa Conference. This confe-rence was first held in 1998 and has since then become a major part of every calendar year, with continually increasing importance, thanks to the very positive response from the partici-pants.

WiWi Alumniclub Ulm e.V.

The WiWi Alumni Club Ulm serves as an information and communication platform for both students and graduates in the business administration and economics programme of Ulm University.

The Alumni Network is mainly shaped by the ties the graduates have to their university and their time spent together as students. The WiWi Alumni Club offers the possibility to stay in touch with other alumni as well as with Ulm University itself.

Annual reunions are one of the main events of the Alumni Club, where students, alumni and members of the faculty have the opportunity to meet each other and share their experiences.

Besides offering mentoring especially for students of the business administration and economics programme, the WiWi Alumni Club can help making business contacts in order to provide young graduates with job opportunities. Due to this competencies, it is clearly visible that within the WiWi Alumni Club students as well as alumni can profit from sharing expe-riences with each other.

The WiWi Alumni Club strives to continue to facilitate research and teaching in the field of economics at Ulm University.

Wirtschaftsphysik Alumni e.V.

The Ulm University association Wirtschaftsphysik Alumni is a non-profit organization which aims to connect graduates, students, lecturers and anyone else who is interested in the fields of business physics or physics.The association has a special interest in fostering direct communication between active mem-bers and alumni. Every year, Wirtschaftsphysik Alumni organises various events in coopera-tion with the FS to provide current and former students the opportunity to come together. The FS Alumni Barbecue is one example, a casual setting for members to meet and discuss ideas or exchange experiences.Wirtschaftsphysik Alumni also provides support for the annual graduation ceremony as well as the Christmas lecture, which is open to all the faculties. Additional activities include pre-sentations and symposia in which alumni members relate their experiences and give details on their professional careers.A mentoring programme and an internet-based communication platform facilitate direct com-munication between the association’s members.The alumni gatherings are a particular highlight, bringing alumni together in an informal setting to relive old times and catch up on new developments.
