The Department of Family Medicine received a five year HRSA grant “Transforming Family Centered Primary Care for Children and Adolescents in Underserved Are-as”. This award is for five years and totals $1,250,000

($250,000 each year). The Principal Investigator is Melissa Nothnagle, MD, MSc, the Residency Director for the Family Medicine Residency. The purpose of the grant is to enhance the training of 1) medical stu-dents, family medicine (FM) residents, and family medicine faculty at MHRI, and 2) community faculty in the underserved communities of Pawtucket and Central Falls. Our intent is to cultivate a workforce of pri-mary care providers who are: well prepared to deliver patient and family-centered care for children and adolescents; will elect to practice in under-served communities; and will become our future leaders in transforming primary care delivery systems. Congratulations!
