BAMBOO BUILDING COMPOSITES FOR SUSTAINABLE HOUSING

This project is a bio-composite based on Guaduabamboo that can be used forbuilding in tropical areas and particularly in Colombia.

His ambition: Turning his dream of economic development for the people and

protection for the environment into a reality.

The project seduced the jury members by its three-dimensional and complementaryapproach: technical (realisation of efficient and cheap building boards, social andeconomic (development of the local economy) and environmental (CO2 storageand less emitting production).

Winning the Foundation Awardis a great pleasure: I expect theAltran team to reinvent therelationship between man, environment, economy and

    society.
