Caregivers Support Groups: for anyone looking after people with Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Last Monday of each month at 7pm at Harbourstone, Chapel, 2nd floor. For information call Patsy Le-

blanc (regional coordinator) at 842-1314.

Meals on Wheels: We now have openings for clients for our meals on wheels program. We offer hot,

nutritious meals to anyone who is living alone and/or is having difficulty preparing meals. Recipients

may be seniors/physically challenged/ chronically ill/ convalescent. Meals are delivered at lunch or

supper time. Phone Jennifer at 562-1245.

Living With Cancer Support Group, a support group for those who have had a diagnosis of cancer, for

their family, caregivers will meet Wednesday, June 18th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm at Royal Canadian Le-

gion, Branch 128 (Pier), Victoria Road.

The Cape Breton D&R Competition Dance Team is having a Pancake Breakfast and bake

sale on Saturday June 14th at St. Theresa's Church hall on St. Peter's road in Sydney from 8 am to

12 noon. Door prizes will be given out as well . Tickets $6.00

CLOTHESLINE FILL A TRUCK EVENT: Donate gently used clothing, small household and electronic

items to help those living with diabetes. Event to be held at 42 Coxheath Road in Sydney, June 28,

2014 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Villa Madonna Retreat House Closure and Open House

The Villa Madonna Retreat House (the Villa) located in Little Bras d'Or, NS

has served the Diocese of Antigonish and its parishioners and community

members since 1972. The Villa offered a place of reflection and renewal for

those who stayed there. The Villa will be closing as of June 13, 2014.

On June 20, 2014, there will be an Open House from 7-9 pm (with a closing service around 8 pm) for those

who would like to share memories from renewal experiences at the Villa. For the past year, the Diocese has

been seeking alternatives to the Villa. After considering numerous options, we believe that the Camp

Bretondean, an ecumenical residential camp supported by the Anglican churches of Cape Breton and admin-

istered by the Camp Bretondean Corporation. Everyone is welcomed to attend the Open House on Friday.

2ND ANNUAL Ham and Salad Supper: Saturday, June 21, 5:30—7:30 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish

Hall. Ham, Salad, roll and dessert. Tickets are $10.00 each, EAT-IN OR TAKE-OUT. All proceeds will go di-

I want to thank all priests and parishioners who participated in the Service of Repentance last Sun-

day in Port Hawkesbury. Special thanks to those in Port Hawkesbury who took leadership in mak-

ing the celebration so successful. May the Lord continue to bless us with healing. Bishop Dunn.

Baptismal Preparation

Parents who wish to have their child baptized are re-quired to attend a Baptismal Preparation Session, held the first Sunday of each month, the next session is July 6, 7:30pm, downstairs in the basement of the church. This is in preparation for Baptisms the following Sunday.

Seniors throughout the area are invited to attend Seniors Socials in CBRM this summer. Hosted by local community or-ganizations and the Cape Breton Regional Recreation Department, the socials will feature entertainment by the Cape Bre-ton Ukulele Strummers, plus activities and refreshments.

Each Seniors Social is scheduled on a Monday, from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m., at the following locations:

BRITISH COLUMBIA BOYS CHOIR: Members of the choir are from the greater Vancouver area and range in age from 7

to 24. In celebration of 45 years, the choir is doing a cross country tour titled “O Canada Our Home-Songs and Sto-

ries of Canada.” Their only Cape Breton concert will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 6 at

THE RIGHT TO LIFE WALK Our annual “Walk-For-Life” will take place Sunday, June 15, 2014 (Fathers' Day) at 2:00 pm. We will meet at the St. Anthony Daniel Parking Lot between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm. WORKSHOP ON TEAM MINISTRY On Tuesday, June 17, 10am-4pm, interested parishioners are invited to a work-

shop at St. Joseph Parish Church Hall, Port Hawkesbury, on the topic: “Collaborative Team Ministry”. It is another

attempt to familiarize as many as possible about a creative way of ministering in parishes where there are less

parishioners, fewer priests, dwindling resources, but, as well as, with some formed laity and deacons willing to

join in a Team approach with priests to “pastor” a pastoral unit.
